Just in case y'all see this: Harwin was the guy who smiled at Rhae when she returned with the boar, the guy who bumped into her in the alley when she was with Daemon and the guy she danced with/threw her over his shoulder during the wedding

I’m late watching some of these reaction videos, but saw your comment & just wanted to say-
I looovedddd the way he looked at her when she came back w/ the boar! 🥹 especially bc it was such a stark contrast to the way ole Lannister grimaced at her 😂
I _also_ loved the way he looked at her when he got to hold Joffrey (& the way she looked at him too, of course)
I understand the story has to progress, and that they had to move toward R&D being together, but ugh, I wish we could’ve had more time w/ Harwin 💪🏼🖤

I feel like the season has so much rewatchability, I'm currently watching it again, and there are even subtle hints those two would get together (and more foreshadowing) that I didn't catch on my first watch..

Because Targaryen's have married into most great houses before, maybe they never once married a Stark, therefore Starks never carried the recessive gene of white hair.

It might not be obvious, but in the last episode the younger maester suggested herbs to cure Viserys, but the older maester refused. In this episode it's the younger maester at the king's council table, implying that the older maester is no longer around to keep using leeches as a "cure".

If any of the Normies see this, Allicent's kids are simply Uncles and Aunt to Rhaenyra's boys. Aegon Haelana and Aemond are Rhaenyra's younger half-siblings
Exactly every time I see people reactions they say they are cousins which confuse me because Alicent children are Rhaenyra’s half brothers 😂😂😂. Which makes Rhaenyra children the nephew’s of Alicent’s children.

Laena’s dragon is massive bc she rides Vhagar, the dragon Aegon the Conquerer’s sister Visenya (Arya’s hero from GoT) rode. Vhagar is the oldest living dragon, and is said to be nearly as big as Balerion the Black Dread (Aegon’s dragon) was.
it didn't look that big though, it seemed like drogon's size on the last GOT season, which is supposed to be wayyy smaller than Balerion

Don’t forget that Otto Hightower urged the king to make Rhaenyra his heir in the first place, because of his fear and hatred of Daemon. If he had held off on that then it is quite likely that that his grandson Aegon would have been the presumed heir from the time of his birth.
Nah, he did that to spite Daemon only after Daemon made light of his dead son. If Daemon didn't do that (or if Otto hadn't snitched) he would never have named Rhaenyra. So Otto screwed himself over twice being a tattle tell.
He did that and moved Alicent in viserys bedroom he’s been scheming The Whole time.

The show skipped one sequence I would have loved to see. Laena was actually engaged to the son of a Sealord of Braavos (I'm guessing he's the guy with her at the wedding last episode). The fiance stupidly challenged Daemon to a duel for Laena's hand and died to Dark Sister.

The guy at the wedding with her was her uncle. I wish they would’ve included Daemon and her along with Rhaenyra and Laenor. Rhaenyra and Laena weee supposed to be close.
Viserys losing his arm at the beginning was forshadowing to him losing the hand of the king.

not all wargs necessarily possess the same level of power. EX: Varamyr and his mentor ( forgot his name ).
Larys’s move is two-fold. 1) He now inherits both Harrenhal, and the seat of House Strong, as well as whatever lands/income comes with it and 2) Solidifies himself with both sides of the brewing civil war. He is “firmly” in the Viserys/Rhaenyra camp bc he was the son of the Hand and brother to her lover, and he is the spymaster for Alicent. Basically he has positioned himself in the middle, so he can pick whatever side he thinks is more likely to win. (Similar to Littlefinger working for the Crown and Renly at the same time in season 2 of GoT)
Rhaenyra's oldest son is the grandson of Viserys. Alicent's oldest daughter is the daughter of Viserys--and thus the half sister of Rhaenyra and thus the aunt o Rhaenyra's oldest son. Thus preceding Dany being the aunt of Jon Snow.

None of the Targaryen’s are fireproof. It’s just something the show decided to do for some reason. In the books they’re heat resistant, but not fireproof like everyone thinks

This episode is more evidence Viserys is not that bad of a king. He's extremely stupid and willfully ignorant with a lot of things in house but in terms of ruling a kingdom he is probably the best ruler we've seen in this universe. He's looking like the Crypt Keeper and still attending council meetings making him the first king we've seen to actually try to manage a complex empire.

Larys is so calm and cold, he plays the Game Of Thronws pre-GoT.
People compare him to Littlefinger but I think he's much more dangerous, cause he's direct and cold. I think he has much more power than most people think. I haven't read the book, but I think he might me much more important.
I *REALLY* wish the show made time to develop a few characters, despite how much I’m enjoying the overall pace and the majority of the character writing. Just small moments here and there with people other than Viserys, Allicent, and Rhaenyra, slightly longer runtimes per episode, it would do so much.
Case in point, DAEMON. His entire relationship with Laena is a huge saving point for many Fire and Blood readers because it paints a more swashbuckling, caring, empathetic character. There’s not doubt he’s still an immoral person, but his approach to his family is admirable and we’re deprived those moments in the show. It’s left up to Matt Smith’s electric acting and small ‘implied’ moments.
This goes for the likes of Laena, Harwin, Joffrey, etc. They all could have used just a BIT more screen time.
no targaryens are fireproof, they just have hgh fire tolerance. The Dany's dragon birth scene was just a miracle and the showrunners just decided to make her fireproof.
it's so funny to see them discussing the intentions and actions of everyone based on logic, only a really small part of humanity acts on pure logic. Even a character like Littlefinger didn't act purely on logic, his motivation was purely emotional. Alicent tries to act logical but there's a lot of jealousy, hate and arrogance. Rhaenyra tries to do the right thing for her but she's aroogant and spoiled ... so there are a lot of reasons why they act the way they act
If Alicent 's actually used her head and thought about who Rhaenyra would be as a queen she'd realize that Rhaenyra would change things in a way that would put an end to the same type of miserable life Alicent was forced into. She's actually fighting against her own interests by trying to force Aegon on the throne

6th episode and the parallels in the show already ... With how Daemon and Viserys both reacted soo differently to the pregnancy situation .... love this show so much .
In the books they're not close, because Alicent is 9 years older than Rhae. She was 18 when she married Viserys, while Rhaenyra was 9. She was her stepmother, who wanted her own children on the throne.
Rhaenyra is canonically younger than both Alicent and Laena.
Personally I understand why they made those changes, but dislike them. Because they came at the expanse of Laena and Rhaenyras close bond((

Yes you are correct that it wouldn't be a big deal if a king had a bastard, but the bastards would not be considered the legitimate heirs to the thrown in most monarchies. It's a big deal in their society because she is passing her bastards off as her legitimate sons and heirs to the throne.

Larys doesn’t want to be the new hand, that’s Otto’s job. The way he picked the flower and said‘I know you’ll reward me’ means he wants to be Alicent’s new hubby once the time comes.
Do a lot of people watching remember that Laena as a 12 year old curiously asked Viserys the whereabouts of the legendary Vhagar and Viserys assumed she's roaming the wild somewhere on Essos? Then 13 years later we see Laena bonded to that same Vhagar.
I haven't minded the time skips but things like this are really frustrating like they literally skipped 15 chapters.
And Vhagar isn't just any dragon; she flew alongside Balerion the Dread during the conquest (with Aegon's sisterwife Visenya as rider) and is currently the largest/oldest dragon alive.
True enough, but it isn't conducive to moving the plot forward. Would it be cool? Fuck yeah it would, and it would do a lot for characterization, but considering Laena wasn't long for the world, it makes since, especially when there are a dozen other plot relevant scenes that need to be show way before. The scene you want with Vhagar will most likely be reserved for Aemond, considering he has FAR more plot relevance than Laena.
They didnt skip anything..... wtf r u talking about.....her bonding with vhagar is never mentioned in the books ......and the dance barely covers 10 chapters in the books....so how tf did they skip 15 chapters😭
Yup I wanted to see Vhagar in it's proper glory/reintroduction and not another Timeskip like this, specially that Leana looks like an interesting character herself.

I was on Rhaenyra side simply because her father chose her, but bastard children do not have a claim to the iron throne Ned stark lost his head for pointing out something almost similar to this. Kings make a lot of bastards but those bastards never have a claim. her children have Targaryen blood as much as Alicent children I know, but hers are made outside marriage which makes them illegitimate. I wanna be on Rhaenyra's side still but I find it hard to ignore that. I don't see why Alicent's children have to kneel to a bastard king in the future, while they themselves have a stronger claim and they are legitimate.
Kids are Targeryen and Strong by blood. But Laenor recognized them as sons, so the are Velaryon but name.
But they are Targeryan, that's why they can control dragons
Alicent is really blind to the viewpoints of others. I don't know what she expected Viserys to do about Rhaenyra's children being bastards. Of course he's going to ignore it. He loves his daughter and his grandchildren. He's not going to say shit about them not being legitimate. I get she's obsessed with "right and wrong" as she views it, but her life would be so much easier if she had accepted Rhaenyra's deal and just went along with it like everyone else.
Ser Harwin was one character I didn't want dying in the show... Such a nice guy all around. RIP

Someone in the comments said Larys doesn't want to be Hand: this is *NOT* true. He most definitely DOES. He just doesn't want to be Hand to Viseyrs. He is waiting until Aegon sits on the throne (something many are expecting to happen once the King dies). That is why he is "helping" Alicent so much. He is trying to both blackmail and gain favor with her, in the hopes that she will ensure he is Hand of her son once he is King. Murdering his father means Otto can return (since the King now has no Hand); this is earning him points with Alicent who desperately wants her father back. Murdering his brother means he now gets to be Lord of Harrenhal (since his father is now also dead); an added bonus.
The cadence/enunciation of Larys Strong’s voiceover (near the end of the episode), is reminiscent of Voldemort’s in the Battle of Hogwarts when he recalls his army. Cold-hearted.

Lady Laena’s death was exactly what she wanted, the scene was different that what actually happened to her in the books. But I’m glad they changed it, Man her death scene and watching Vhagar feeling bad for her was absolutely the best.
