Hello again, I first did this way back in 1975 as part of my plan to get fit ready to Join the UK Army, so lets see how much I can remember about my Pennine Way. I started at 8am after a restfull nights sleep in my tent nearby. I follow the Original Route along the Stream by the Pub to its start at a spring near Kinder Downfall, then hiked over the hill to Kinder Downfall for my first Coffee Break before continuing to Torside Resevoir for my first overnight Camp. Tony in Essex a retired Hiker.

The Granite slabs were flown in by helicopter dropping them off at lots of locations along the Pennine Way, not just in your current area but all along the needed sections. As for the WW2 Aircraft crash site I believe it was along the route as its mentioned in the PW Guide Book.

Slabs were delivered by helicopter in late 1990s and early 2000s. When we walked the PW in 1986 and 1987, there were no slabs - just peat bogs.

Got a tip for you, Walk on the same side of the road as the vehicles coming towards you. That way you can see what may hit you if they get too close and take avoiding action. 👍.

Glad to see you are back enjoying the delights of the UK take care and have fun. Will watch your progress but I suspect it will get worse the further north you travel. You must be mad doing it in October/November !

Boy, youre very quick at uploading your daily vids! So fun to see them. I also appreciate you telling us details such as steps getting to the trailhead itself & eating stops, etc.
I take it you usually baggage- check your trekking poles, tent stakes/poles & other pokey things TSA frowns on? Do they have an issue with your ultralight trekking umbrella for carry-on?
