An infinitely easier way to get the heavy attack boost is to do a heavy attack slam. Of course you have to time it correctly, but it’s arguably better as you now do damage on the zaw impact zone as well as the ground where you land with the heavy slam.
@@jth5726 instead of doing the slide and heavy attack you can just slam. I don't like this method imo because it requires timing which is different based on the distance from the target but if you're struggling with the slide you can try it. The timing comes from the projectile needing to land before your slam hits the ground which isn't an issue with the slide attack. if the projectile hits after you slam two things happen: 1. you don't get the damage buff from the heavy attack and any crit chance from sacrificial steel or rivens will not be doubled 2. the projectile will probably land where your slam landed and will hit you or near you during the animation which will knock you over if you don't have a knockdown resistance mod like surefooted

How is Ivara capable of keeping permanent invisibility for Eclipse if you have to slide for the heavy attack? It'll break her Prowl unless you mean by using repeat casts of her Invis Arrow? @8:15
i found for heavy attacks on switch once in the air if you hold to slide and aim at the same time it does it, way easier than trying to put in all those inputs, you don’t even need to switch weapons midair
8:02 so Loki then too since his Invisibility is always classified as standing in strong light no matter where you cast it. With all forms of invisibility, I take it then that the bonus melee stealth multiplier also adds to the damage boost?

Waa thinking about this the other day. Lost my original exodia contagion when they did the update. But can you do a basic stat stick and crit stick zaw guide too please. Mines 5 years old and no real updated videos on those for new people.
Here I am, used to the basic star chart and having Serration, Split Chamber, Radiation (for Grineer), Magnetic (for Corpus), and Corrosive (for Corrupted/Infested). I never used Gas or Viral until recently, and I’m MR22. I just started using viral and gas (for infested). 2 billion damage doesn’t make sense to me.
there are just a lot of multipliers at wortk here which makes you see that amount. The real crazy thing is that the number you see he deals is actually the maximum amount the game can show on screen which means he most likely dealt a lot more than 2 billion damage
is it a bad idea to try and replace spoiled strike with a riven mod? the riven stats are: +87.3% electricity +158.4 crit chance (x2 on heavy) +96.5 crit damage
You'll probably end up with lower damage than replacing the second elemental mod instead, but your riven will still lead to an overall significant damage boost if you really want to drop Spoiled Strike.
People are on about wisp this or mirage that, yall forgetting gyre put eclipse on her 1 or 2, to get the mirage buff, and cast her 3 and 4. Which increases crit chances and cause lightning to strike anyone you crit, which is everyone, adding more damage and making the toxin damage corrosive
Finally my main melee getting some recognition. Personally i- use heavy attack type with killing blow bc 95% of kills are close to me so no need to worry about this animation thingy. Due to zaw i use plague kripath so i can have viral and corrosive ant the same time, somehow it boosts damage even more. Also insted of eclipse i use chroma due to survivality and stacking strenght mods + i can also put nourish on chroma so 1400% vex + nourish works amazing. Intiger overflow go brrrr that sometimes it deletes damage from tab stats. Like i have 98% damage -> do intiger overflow -> damage falls of to 7% -> one hit and goes back to 90%+.
Anyone trying to do this build now it is even easier since you can just hold eclipse for a guaranteed weapon boost. No need to play around with invisibility.
I built this long time ago. It literally deletes everything. Doing heavy attack with it’s long animation is a bit annoying, but, oh boy is it fun watching everything disappear in an instant 😅 I wonder would this work on an Archon.
@@lookalike4805 quite the opposite. Damage attenuation works worse with higher fire rate, lower damage weapons rather than vice versa. It's the primary reason the secondary fire mode for kuva hek chunks archons
Actually the Main Reason The Kuva Hek works so well is because of it's High Pellet Count.... Damage Attenuation Doesn't Just Gimp Fire Rate Weapons it Also Gimps Anything that Deals Damage in a Single Instance which is Why the Glaive Prime is also Terrible Versus Archons. That Being Said... more Damage does Still Matter.... The Real Question is Is 2 Billion Damage Enough to Compensate against the Stupid Way in Which Damage Attenuation Works ?
i have been using this specific zaw build with exodia that is seen in the video for almost a year now, its just too good of a build and i have yet to use something else that can even reach the damage i can gain with it, and yes i am using wisp for the infinite invisibility in air.
I've been getting a bug where my Zaw stops working after I throw it. I can't swing it or slam it. Not until I deploy Archgun and then switch back to normal weapons. Does anyone here have the same problem?
Even if there's a Zaw video, it sort of focuses differently than your suggestions in this build. Trying to get more status effects up to compensate, while in this video, crit seems to be a bigger focus due to higher damage. Any chance you can make some build more specific for this particular video and post a video or some builds?
Can you please explain how good would this weaoon work if you were to decently mod it or build it or both, for status. Considering a use case scenario of heat inherit build, which partially bypasses the need for damage buffs from frames or abilities.
you said you can heavy attack in mid air that throws projectile too just like a normal attack, i have tried heavy attack and it doesn't work in mid air rather it slams on the floor if i don't press aim and just stays in air if i press the aim
Instead of spoiled strike, wouldnt Boreals contempts be best? It does only have a 30% multiplier to status damage instead of the listed 60% however, i use it on my exodia build, and i believe that it seriously puts in some amazing work. I could be entirely wrong about this, so feel free to correct me. This also does force you to use a polearm, but with exodia contagen, since you are always in the air and only attacking once, landing, repeat - it should pay off.
Again, feel free to correct me. I read the forum page on the mod too, and thats how i found out that the multiplier to status damage is only 30% as it is listed in the notes section of the "boreals contempt" page

@@abyssal_beans How I have never got it to work once
Laughs in legacy controls.
new companion rework mods, (dmg multiplier) is going to be wild
From what i've tested, corrupt charge is better than spoiled strike, if you do not want to add up your combo.
is it a bad idea to try and replace spoiled strike with a riven mod? the riven stats are:
+87.3% electricity
+158.4 crit chance (x2 on heavy)
+96.5 crit damage
You'll probably end up with lower damage than replacing the second elemental mod instead, but your riven will still lead to an overall significant damage boost if you really want to drop Spoiled Strike.
As somone who uses exodia contagion for most of the damage output, i give this video a 10/10
People are on about wisp this or mirage that, yall forgetting gyre put eclipse on her 1 or 2, to get the mirage buff, and cast her 3 and 4.
People have known about contagion for almost 8 years....
But not the "heavy attack" one, not many ppl know about this. For past 2 years only saw like 4-5 ppl using it
@@Rai-Zen everyone knows about it dude it's not some "secret"
does this one shot bosses (excluding obvious forced damage/invinc gates) and perhaps even archons?
No not for archons but yeah pretty much most other bosses take a lot of dmg
Just don't bother for archons
I think I know what the fate of my non-meta zaw riven will be
Can we have a follow-up video with Kullervo?
i've been trying to make the zaw from the video but failing, can anyone tell me the components? I have a kronsh but what else should I use?
Anyone trying to do this build now it is even easier since you can just hold eclipse for a guaranteed weapon boost. No need to play around with invisibility.
I built this long time ago. It literally deletes everything. Doing heavy attack with it’s long animation is a bit annoying, but, oh boy is it fun watching everything disappear in an instant 😅
I wonder would this work on an Archon.
Pretty Sure DE created Damage Attenuation to Stop that Very Idea from Working.... But I could be Wrong... Try it out 👍
@@lookalike4805 quite the opposite.
I cannot get the heavy attack to work. Was it patched?
Ok i see you and other people are using long grips but Korb (a very short one) gives the highest base damage. Why is that?
Critical chance, I believe.
My zaw nikana has 31% crit chance.
Can you also make a video about Amp Arcanes in general?
Exodia contagion slightly reminds me of meme strike play pattern. run arounds and do the same melee move over and over again.
is it still viable to go for a dohkram or plauge keewar riven anyway, even though they're weaker rivens? I got one cheap at like 20p
An appropriately rivened Zaw will outclass any unrivened one for the purpose of Exodia Contagion.
thanks 👍
I think they bugfixed the heavy attack right? I successfully executed the mir-air slide heavy attack in air, but no Contagion coming out...
you said you can heavy attack in mid air that throws projectile too just like a normal attack, i have tried heavy attack and it doesn't work in mid air rather it slams on the floor if i don't press aim and just stays in air if i press the aim
Hold switch weapon button this puts you into melee mode when u want to heavy throw contagion u have to slide aim glide and press heavy attack buttons
I read the forum page on the mod too, and thats how i found out that the multiplier to status damage is only 30% as it is listed in the notes section of the "boreals contempt" page
why is it already 26th, but i see no duviri released??? tell us
when things gets tough I can always rely on my Chroma+Exodia combo
Is there a reason you went for the Shtung grip instead of Korb? Given Korb has higher base damage at only the cost of range.
sliding attack in the air and using heavy attack does not work
from today xd
after updating with Dante
Locking this behind limited time events seems bizzare to me
Range doesn’t affect the contagion explosion radius?
Welp i did actually play this video accidentally trying to pause another one so i did play the video without seeing the red crit on the thumbnail xD
@Kenginner is it possible to do the Exodia Contagion Slide Heavy Attack with Corrupt Charge bonus?
yeah
the button press combination seems like it would get irritating after awhile, it's why I'm still not 100% sold on exodia contagion.
Attack speed does actually apply to contagion, the flight speed of the contagion projectile depends on attack speed
Uh no attack speed increases the swing speed not the projectile speed
@@noahedenborg4221 it does in fact increase the projectile speed as well, try it out yourself.
@@noahedenborg4221 Attack speed increases the projectile speed. Wind up speed increases the attack animation(swing) speed.
@@rayleigh3047 first part but the second no attack speed effects swing speed
What about Primed Reach & Motus Impact, do they alter the contagion explosion range?
No
So, can you one-shot an Archon with it? Invi+Eclipse and land the phantom flying hammer right in their sentient face?
Nope learn how archons Dr works
Exodia contagion prices after this video 📈📈📈 STONKS
Thought this was going to be something new
Edit: Nevermind I learned something new
Wouldn't Corrupt Charge increase the damage of the "heavy launch" of Exodia? Since it ups the combo country to 2x, making the heavy attack hit harder?
He explained that heavy attack projectiles are not affected by combo counter so spoiled strike is the way to go
