Hikaru’s happiness was indeed destroyed by the dark side of the entertainment industry, but Ai’s situation was the complete opposite. Both came from unfortunate family backgrounds-Hikaru was an orphan with no parents, while Ai had a sadistic mother. They both entered the entertainment industry as a means of survival. Hikaru first encountered the deranged Himekawa, whereas Ai encountered a kind-hearted manager and a compassionate producer. Let’s not forget that at this point, one was 14 and the other 15, both under the legal age for marriage. Moreover, their professional ethics didn’t allow them to engage in romantic relationships. Hikaru never took responsibility for what he should have been accountable for, while Ai did-and because of that, she achieved happiness. If not for the tragedy orchestrated by Hikaru, Ai would have continued to live a happy and fulfilling life. Hikaru’s misfortune can perhaps be partially blamed on the entertainment industry, but it’s not the primary cause. Ai faced the same choices and chose to take full responsibility on her own.
To be honest, this was my OTP in the series. This ship dynamic of "we know and understand each other more than anyone else because we share the same pain/ relate to each other" is literally my ship preference in any fandom I've been in. In another life, they could have been a wholesome family; 154 hurt me so bad😭😭 Also, loved the fact that Ai and Hikaru are both voiced by voice acting icons lol.

Looking back at those movie chapters, the 15-year Lie can also be titled Miscommunication: The Movie. And I saw that what-if panel again: If Ai just straight-up told Hikaru the truth or Hikaru did not ask Ryosuke to deliver flowers to Ai...
Really all it takes was some communication and things wouldn’t have gone off the rails as bad as it did. Hard for me to blame Ai completely considering the things she went through, but this was definitely one of her biggest mistakes.

I see it as a tragedy I honestly think Hikaru never meant any harm to Ai and just chickened out due to Ai saying she didn't want to get back together when she called and so asked Ryosuke to delivery flowers in his stead not realising he was obsessed with Ai and not knowing what he and Nino did at the hospital. Hence after he unintentional caused Ai's death he slowly goes mad over the years. What makes it more sad is that when Ai says she doesn't want to get back together she looks embarrassed to me and we know that the dvd she recorded for Aqua would have been made before then meaning she had been thinking of Hikaru even before she overheard the twins and wanted to be with him and raise their children together overhearing them just gave her the push she needed to reach out to Hikaru. Just imagine how different things would have gone done if Ai was honest with herself and told him it wasn't out of the question when she called or if Hikaru managed to work up the courage to see her that day. One didn't know how to love while the other doesn't see themselves as deserving of love.
I wanted to hear more of Hikaru's backstory. Like how did he meet Airi? How was he as a child? Who is he besides being a sexual partner for Airi? I feel so bad for him. I know he did terrible things, but I can't just forget he was abused and broken. He lived alone and died alone 😢😅

Ai and Hikaru relationship started strong. They could’ve been a very good couple but sadly he got Ruby came to unstable and AI saw that and started to get to worry. That’s why she could no longer be with him and their relationship quickly became toxic and he got a got a I killed and traumatized his children for life. After that, he became a full on psychopath he could not accept his death so he started killing anybody who dared surpass I including his own son and daughter The family is the most broken family of all time 😔😢😭

What did we learn from this series?! That love are lies?! Ruby was never presented as a viable love interest for anyone in the series. For Gorou but that was one sided and a child crush.So I’d be hella worried if she falls for someone abusive and manipulative. The story basically ended how it started.

Funny how I was thinking about Ai and Hikaru's relationship last night and saw this video on my feed.😆 Edit : 6:35 Ai asking Airi who would protect children if not adults when she said Hikaru came to her out of his own will directly parallels Aqua asking the same thing to the cameraman who claimed that Akane chose to star in Love Now out of her own free will. Both Ai and Aqua reminded the adults that Hikaru/Akane were just children.
These two are the definition of soulmates who were doomed by the narrative,they could've been perfect for eachother in another circumstance, but things just ended in the worst way possible because of miscommunication,in a way it actually feels realistic in a way it's literally two teenagers in a relationship each having trauma relating to their concept of love,expecting them to handle it properly is probably a longshot but considering Crow Girl did mention Hikaru was geniunely a good person before he went insane maybe they could've worked out, heck if that idiot actually went to meet Ai and the twins by himself instead of chickening out and sending Ryosuke in his stead they could've actually worked it out,he really did blow it at the end and lived to regret it 😔
I honestly feel a very good family dynamic was destroyed because of the darkside of the entertainment industry the kids being born may have healed them both in a way and we could have seen taiki ruby and aqua together along with their parents living a very happy life.
No hate, but i actually hate the idea of portraying Taiki as being raised by Ai en Hikaru. Taiki is a child produced by Hikaru being raped, as a child himself. Hikaru is not Taiki's father in any sense but just purely biological and does absolutely not have fatherly or positive feelings for him. It's like he has some obligation to Taiki, a child who was conceived without his consent. It would be truly insane to represent 'raising the child he was forced to conceive with his rapist at the age of 11.'
Hikaru was clearly delusional: he killed the person he loved the most, regretted about It and spent all his life manipulating people for his beliefs and when he understood that all he did was was pointless he refused to believe It and just tried to kill his own daughter, that was ironically one of the only things that still bond him to Ai, i dont understand if Akasaka just retcon him or made him even crazier😅
Tbh I'm doubting on this too. I saw lots of fans expecting Hikaru to be a completely heartless dark villain, and gone mad on internet after the movie arc that Akasaka seemed to portrait him into a tragic villain. I always suspect that Akasaka changed the ending to this bizzard one because he called off Ruby's incest route and Hikaru's forgiveness route to please some fans. I'm not saying incest is good or it can't be a revenge ending, but changing things in the last minute (feels like it) with no prior steps leading to it that went completely opposite direction of the last chapter is just most horrible ending.
I genuinely believe Hikaru had the potential to be a legendary villain but Aka fumbled the bag with him. I kind of wish we got to see a longer Oshi no Ko where Hikaru causes a character to die every arc like Yura did. He'd be built up as a greater threat. Also wish his showdown with Aqua had him dying in a more epic way.

I think aside from exposing the darkside of show business, Oshi No Ko was also meant to represent the number of Celebrity marraiges that was destroyed by Entertainment industry and how the children of the actors were badly affected by it as they grow up in a prestigous yet broken families under the mask of fame and power.
To be honest, with season 3 apparently in production, I don’t know if people are gonna want to support the anime or manga anymore, ESPECIALLY after that Garbage Fire of an ending!!! (I know I’m Definitely NOT) Because if we’re being real, Nothing really HAPPENS in the arcs that season 3 is gonna adapt. If anything it’s all just gonna be set up for a S4 if THAT even happens!!!!

Judging by the chapter numbers Oshi no ko Will only have 4 seasons season one released in spring of 2023 and season two released in summer of 2024 soul season three will probably release and fall of 2025 and the final season will release in winter of 2027 season four will be the final season of Oshi no ko 🤩
I think I’ll use AI to make a different ending for Oshi no ko since a lot of people were not happy with the ending, I use AI to make an alternate ending to the series. I’ll create a happy ending, but most people would be satisfied with it

Actually...I think this is how it is realistically because alot of us are deluded with this saying that broken souls can heal each other. It might work sometimes but most times irl, it ends terribly like what happened with Hikaru and Ai.

Hikaru incited Uehara and Himekawa to walk together toward the end of their lives, then carried the guilt alone. He naturally assumed that he would need to share this pain with Ai, which is such a selfish thought. I don’t think he would want to build a new family with a pregnant Ai (not to mention that neither of them has reached the legal age for marriage). Besides, Hikaru didn’t even take on the basic responsibilities of being a father-the child he had with Himekawa was sent to an orphanage. As a result, Ai naturally wouldn’t trust Hikaru’s promises and rejected his proposal after learning she was already pregnant.
I mean to be fair Taiki was a kid he had after he was raped,victims don't always really want to associate with anything that may remind them of their trauma which may sound bad but that's not something that can be helped,it didn't seem like he wanted Airi and Seijirou to die eachother he was at the time just trying to tell someone that it happened and Seijirou killed Airi as a consequence,but I do agree that Hikaru at that sort of mental state probably wouldn't be able to build a proper family relationship with Ai even if he wanted to, Ai most likely understood that and was hoping he would be able to get better on his own if she didn't interfere and remove herself

Ai and Hikaru relationship started strong. They could’ve been a very good couple but sadly he got Ruby came to unstable and AI saw that and started to get to worry. That’s why she could no longer be with him and their relationship quickly became toxic and he got a got a I killed and traumatized his children for life. After that, he became a full on psychopath he could not accept his death so he started killing anybody who dared surpass I including his own son and daughter The family is the most broken family of all time 😔😢😭
Definitely one of the most broken families in manga. All of them suffered in their own way and only one of them lived till the end 😭☠️

Which we understand ai now...she was scared to make it worse that is why she left...
i guess we shouldn't hate adult hikaru that much...he isn't evil...hes just broken...but we can hate him for a little of his actions that got rid of our gorou,ai and now aqua...who could have got rid of akane,ruby and maybe kana...and who also got rid of yura too... Ruby was never presented as a viable love interest for anyone in the series. For Gorou but that was one sided and a child crush.So I’d be hella worried if she falls for someone abusive and manipulative. The story basically ended how it started.

Edit : 6:35 Ai asking Airi who would protect children if not adults when she said Hikaru came to her out of his own will directly parallels Aqua asking the same thing to the cameraman who claimed that Akane chose to star in Love Now out of her own free will. Both Ai and Aqua reminded the adults that Hikaru/Akane were just children.
The entertainment industry and tragedy go hand in hand, no surprise here. It’s a common story after all, it’s not a unique occurrence.
These two are the definition of soulmates who were doomed by the narrative,they could've been perfect for eachother in another circumstance, but things just ended in the worst way possible because of miscommunication,in a way it actually feels realistic in a way it's literally two teenagers in a relationship each having trauma relating to their concept of love,expecting them to handle it properly is probably a longshot but considering Crow Girl did mention Hikaru was geniunely a good person before he went insane maybe they could've worked out, heck if that idiot actually went to meet Ai and the twins by himself instead of chickening out and sending Ryosuke in his stead they could've actually worked it out,he really did blow it at the end and lived to regret it 😔

I honestly feel a very good family dynamic was destroyed because of the darkside of the entertainment industry the kids being born may have healed them both in a way and we could have seen taiki ruby and aqua together along with their parents living a very happy life.

No hate, but i actually hate the idea of portraying Taiki as being raised by Ai en Hikaru. Taiki is a child produced by Hikaru being raped, as a child himself. Hikaru is not Taiki's father in any sense but just purely biological and does absolutely not have fatherly or positive feelings for him. It's like he has some obligation to Taiki, a child who was conceived without his consent. It would be truly insane to represent 'raising the child he was forced to conceive with his rapist at the age of 11.'

Hikaru was clearly delusional: he killed the person he loved the most, regretted about It and spent all his life manipulating people for his beliefs and when he understood that all he did was was pointless he refused to believe It and just tried to kill his own daughter, that was ironically one of the only things that still bond him to Ai, i dont understand if Akasaka just retcon him or made him even crazier😅
Tbh I'm doubting on this too. I saw lots of fans expecting Hikaru to be a completely heartless dark villain, and gone mad on internet after the movie arc that Akasaka seemed to portrait him into a tragic villain. I always suspect that Akasaka changed the ending to this bizzard one because he called off Ruby's incest route and Hikaru's forgiveness route to please some fans. I'm not saying incest is good or it can't be a revenge ending, but changing things in the last minute (feels like it) with no prior steps leading to it that went completely opposite direction of the last chapter is just most horrible ending.

I genuinely believe Hikaru had the potential to be a legendary villain but Aka fumbled the bag with him. I kind of wish we got to see a longer Oshi no Ko where Hikaru causes a character to die every arc like Yura did. He'd be built up as a greater threat. Also wish his showdown with Aqua had him dying in a more epic way.

I think aside from exposing the darkside of show business, Oshi No Ko was also meant to represent the number of Celebrity marraiges that was destroyed by Entertainment industry and how the children of the actors were badly affected by it as they grow up in a prestigous yet broken families under the mask of fame and power.

To be honest, with season 3 apparently in production, I don’t know if people are gonna want to support the anime or manga anymore, ESPECIALLY after that Garbage Fire of an ending!!! (I know I’m Definitely NOT) Because if we’re being real, Nothing really HAPPENS in the arcs that season 3 is gonna adapt. If anything it’s all just gonna be set up for a S4 if THAT even happens!!!!

Hikaru incited Uehara and Himekawa to walk together toward the end of their lives, then carried the guilt alone. He naturally assumed that he would need to share this pain with Ai, which is such a selfish thought. I don’t think he would want to build a new family with a pregnant Ai (not to mention that neither of them has reached the legal age for marriage). Besides, Hikaru didn’t even take on the basic responsibilities of being a father-the child he had with Himekawa was sent to an orphanage. As a result, Ai naturally wouldn’t trust Hikaru’s promises and rejected his proposal after learning she was already pregnant.
I mean to be fair Taiki was a kid he had after he was raped,victims don't always really want to associate with anything that may remind them of their trauma which may sound bad but that's not something that can be helped,it didn't seem like he wanted Airi and Seijirou to die eachother he was at the time just trying to tell someone that it happened and Seijirou killed Airi as a consequence,but I do agree that Hikaru at that sort of mental state probably wouldn't be able to build a proper family relationship with Ai even if he wanted to, Ai most likely understood that and was hoping he would be able to get better on his own if she didn't interfere and remove herself
It was the best part of the manga, but why did it have to end like that? 🫠😞
