Am I the only one who thinks Hikaru wasn't going to hurt Ruby the white eyes mostly represent positive emotions. And this is a personal opinion, but I feel the stars represent white lies where a person lies for a positive reason and doesn't mean harm and black lies were a person lies for negative reasons and causes harm really fits with the theme of lying and also how the eyes change based on changes in motivation and emotions. So to me Hikaru's eyes turning white might mean he doesn't actually intend to harm Ruby especially when it is revealed that Nino was there, add that he knew Akane was following him maybe he was pretending that he was going to push her to make Akane show herself before Nino did somthing to Ruby.

I see 3 different scenarios playing out here: Scenario 1: Aka Akasaka is baiting and trolling us, and this ultimately ends up being nothing in the form of Aqua having a nightmare or something similar, maybe he's dressed up as Ruby and expects it so he's protected, etc. (I guesstimate a 30% chance.) Scenario 2: Ruby actually gets stabbed, but is saved by someone, most likely Aqua. (I guesstimate a 60% chance.) Scenario 3: Ruby actually gets stabbed, and even ends up dying. (I guesstimate a 10% chance.) I don't believe it to be the case, but if it does end up being scenario 3 that happens, I'll be immensely disappointed in Aka Akasaka, a mangaka I hold in high regard (ONK and Kaguya are both S-tier in more or less every aspect). Killing of Ruby (in the exact same way as Ai no less), is not just horrible in itself, but it's also extremely lazy writing, and I expect better from Akasaka. Killing of prominent characters in a stupid, non-rewarding way for a mere five seconds of shock-value and to piss of the MC is something I'd expect from Gege, not Akasaka. This leaves Scenario 1 and 2, and while I do hope it's Scenario 1 where we are just being trolled by Akasaka, I can actually see Scenario 2 potentially having the "best" outcome if Akasaka manages to pull it of in a satisfying manner. Not only due to the shock and dramatic impact on the audience *and* characters involved, but it could also lead to a pivotal moment for Aqua, where he finds himself in a similar situation as he did with Ai years ago, only that while he failed to save his mother as a toddler, he will this time manage to save his sister as an adult, with the ensuing relief for both him and the audience the whole situation would entail. From a writing standpoint, this scenario is much better (and hence, more likely for a competent author) than simply trolling or lazily killing of a person for no good reason. So yeah, fingers crossed.

If Ruby actually dies then I called it I think it's a pretty smart move for the story But the way how the chapter is set up doesn't feel natural to me like Ai's death. I can't I think Aqua is going to have a big involvement in her "death" Both scenes will be similar but completely different

after seeing the leaks, how this whole thing happened is really strange anyways. you would imagine Aqua being extra careful especially on Ai's death day and knowing Nino is out there and he even was discussing it with Akane about her. But no, he is not there (maybe close somewhere else but who knows) .... Hikaru feeling soooo guilty but not really doing anything either it seems..... Miyako and Ichigo being said to constantly being on Ruby's heels to keep her safe but nowhere to be seen on just that day. And then of course Ruby of all people opening the door without checking before

I have a feeling Ruby will be in a critical decision and needs a organ transplant, Aqua will probably volunteer since they are both the same blood no matter if he dies. And this will set up as their father will come in and volunteer himself to repent a bit of his biggest regret since he is also responsible for Ai's death
