Or a handsome psychopath, but at least her team isnt backstabbing like Ai’s too. I think safe to say, her future will be different. But, a little sad she didnt get a chance to talk to Taiki.
Unfortunate, but knowing how Ai never really wanted to specifically meet Hikaru, Ruby may end up in the same place, but if she DID end up meeting someone who has the same condition as Hikaru when he came to Ai, she at least knows what not to do Oh, and BTW, Hikaru is no psychopath, these people feel no guilt and have zero remorse. If Hikaru is exactly that, he might even spit on Ai with a "She was too stupid" or stuff like that after the revelation of that message of Ai talking about him, then act like nothing happens. He won't care about Ai's value at all, though he'll be more likely to kill anyone risking his reputation...
they could have done that with aqua in a coma and her performing at dome years later helps wake him up so ends in same hospital room started in with ruby songs helping aqua like how ais helped her
@@mrd456RIGHT? I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED THIS! AQUA DIDN'T HAVE TO DIE! THERE WERE BILLIONS OF OTHER BETTER ENDINGS! AKA DID US DIRTY WITH THIS LOW KEY 😢😢😢😢
Unintentionally, Aqua isnt perfect on planning stuff. But his focus was to protect Ruby even if he dies along with his plans. As long as it works, thats all it matters.
The one character I’ll literally hate forever is that crow girl. Like, what was the point of raising Aqua just to be slaughtered and messing with Ruby mentally and emotionally? She gives off major villain vibes. Crows are a symbol of bad omen for a reason, honestly. It’s like she tortured both Aqua’s and Ruby’s souls. Honestly, it would've been better if they never got reincarnated in the first place, atleast they didn’t have to live with all that pain.
She warned Aqua about his choice and he didn’t listen and kept going. Crow girl didnt want Aqua to die either but he still continues and was prepared to die. All she did was guide them, though she did torment them but she never intended to get them to die. But tbh, she already got what she deserved. Aqua and Ruby messed with her and dragged her into working with them in a movie lol. She also got fooled into being involved by Aqua.
@@merimkastrat5846I don't think she reincarnated Goro just for him to live a chill second life. Like, they both came back with a purpose. Aqua’s was to save his sister, and Ruby’s was to shine and help people escape the darkness. Aqua might’ve found his own motivation to keep living, but he still has to fulfill his purpose. Also, every time she talks to the twins, she doesn't try to steer them away from revenge,if anything she’s pushing them further down that path.
@@Pranav79812 I feel the purpose she gave those 2 to live was to have a second chance in life. The very least, Crow Girl was not expecting Aqua to get himself killed in the process. She was meant to help them succeed on their revenge. Which technically, she did help them succeed. Its just, she didnt want Aqua to die and didnt expect him to actually go with the plan. Thats why you see later how tearful she is, Crow Girl didnt want Aqua to die knowing he actually found his purpose to live only to give up on it later.
@@merimkastrat5846 You might be right, there’s gotta be a way Aqua survives. Also, I remember she said, 'You made the wrong move' in chapter 123. Does that mean he unknowingly chose his own death? And we still don’t know what the wrong move actually was. I guess we’ll have to wait for the extra chapter. But still, I can’t stand that yapping fraud the true villain 😭
@@Pranav79812 I recall Aqua swore to kill him even if it means he would have to die too. Thats why he chose to stab himself, and then charge at Hikaru, he pretty much planned their deaths. So yes, thats why Crow Girl says “You made the wrong move”, its because his plan in the future will get himself killed.
And also...Ruby has officially became Ai 2.0... And at least oshi no ko isn't fully over yet...we still have it until December arrives which will bring us the special and regular edition in December 18!!!! I don't get it why ruby has had to become like her mother even if she didn't want to at first...but ngl... im so heartbroken..i can't even move on from it that its finally over...now we just the year left before its fully over...but now we just have freedom left before December arrives...❤
Ruby has always wanted to be like her mom, Aqua was originally against it but end up supporting her so he can find the killer. In a way, they both succeeded. Its just we hoped Aqua gets a bright future too which sadly isnt the case.
No. Ai always hid her true feelings even to those closest to her. Ruby as stated in the chapter will allow people close to her to see her suffering but puts on a lie when in the public eye. But Ruby isn’t alone like AI. She isn’t bottling up her emotions like AI. And in some ways it’s thanks to Aqua because she has great friends like Mem-cho, Akane, and Kana to help her thanks to him.
Because the ending was so rushed. He decided to cram in all the last few plot points and rubys feelings and the conclusion to the story all in a single chapter. That’s like cramming all of the FNAF lore into a single 20 minute long video, and what you get is a rushed, unfinished, video. That’s the same thing with the ending, it feels incomplete, like he didn’t know how to properly write an ending that was tragic
Its how bittersweet ending works. We didnt want this ending, but for the most part its a good ending. We were reminded Oshi no Ko has always been a tragedy. Added with rom com, romance, and all that, especially drama. But in the end, the main part was tragedy. Aka was clever to rarely drop tragic scenes. He had us fooled thinking theres gonna be a perfect ending, but ends up with a bittersweet ending.
@@Grayson-WinchesterThats probably his plan, meant to leave it to us to use our imagination how it happened after. But then again, I do hear he is doing another manga so he wanted to get this one wrapped up.
Aqua dies, leaving all the friends and loved ones he's made over the course of the manga behind, but at least he's killed Hikaru and landed Nino in prison, keeping Ruby safe for good. Despite the heartbreak that takes some longer than others to recover from, everyone eventually moves on from his death, and are motivated to work harder than ever to honor his memory. This culminates in Ruby fulfilling the dream Ai never could - performing at the Tokyo Dome. But I still wish Aqua didn't have to sacrifice himself to kill Hikaru. I would've preferred if he and the others could've just exposed Hikaru for all his crimes (Like how Edward Elric was able to expose Father Cornello for being a fraud pretending to be a Messenger of God and like how Marinette Dupain-Cheng exposed Lila Rossi (Or whatever her real name is) for being the evil lying sociopath she truly is) with an Engineered Public Confession or something and bring him to justice? Aqua's death still feels so messed up, especially since it reminds me of what happened to Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Fred Weasley (Harry Potter series). Not to mention Haruto Tokishima from Valvrave the Liberator. 😥😭🙍💔🌧️🌩️
I'm torn in regards to this ending. On one hand, I'm proud of Ruby and how she was able to will herself to move on after losing both Ai and Aqua, as it would be easy and understandable for her to crumble. On the other hand, I feel this incident is kind of a self fufilling prophercy in a since as Ruby is now just like Ai in regards to be what I would call a "beautiful liar." She even looks like Ai when she was first on stage. And while that is good that she was able to push forward, I don't think suppressing those feelings are good for her. Overall the ending is meh to me. I feel there could've been more but sadly this is what we got. It feels rushed, and I'm noticing a lot of manga nowadays are getting rushed endings. Still it was a fun ride. Thank you for reviewing all the arcs, and the chapters. Now if you'll excuse me. I'm gonna go have a alternate ending comic of someone saving Aqua for Ruby and the others.
Eh rushed ending have already been kind of normal for manga for many years now. For me, it’s become less of how you can pace but more so if your ending perfectly contextualizes and cultivate the overall themes of the story. For me at least, I feel like Oshi no Ko’s ending did just that. Also, I’m okay with Aqua’s sacrifice, I just don’t know if I like the way it happened.
@@LurenceSaragena is there actually any proof that he got bored? I always felt this was some kind of excuse for every time a story ends shorter or weirder than expected. Maybe he actually was done and didn’t feel the need to drag it, you know? But I can definitely believed that he might have been pressured from the fans and it might of changed certain outcomes of the story.
We see a crow sitting on a roof during the concert, so i think it's Tsukuyomi who continues to keep an eye on Ruby. i also think she is just the goddess who carries the souls of the dead as she said previously, she can't directly interact.
I hate the fact that it started with the messed up industry and ended the same. U can't change it and it won't be changed it will stay fked. Someone made the mha and jjk ending look good
@@Nihal.kr. Ok to be perfectly fair we don’t know the long term impact of Aqua’s death and the 15 years a lie movie on the entertainment industry. It’s just never stated. That said the final bit of the series is more a commentary on grief and trauma than anything else. And in that regard it will always happen. Ruby lies and covers up her grief while in public because you have to. If you let grief consume you even if it’s your true feelings it’s not a life worth living. In that regard it is better to lie and be happy in public for others because in some ways it rubs off on you even if just a little. That’s how you start to heal.
This last chapter is a commentary on handling grief and trauma. Of the Hoshino’s only Ruby was able to strike the balance. Hikaru became obsessive killing others just to feel closer to his dead ex-girlfriend. Aqua wanted revenge on those who hurt him. Even if in the end he didn’t act on it that was what motivated him most of his life and how he processed the grief of losing Ai. Ai bottled everything up. She hid her pain and true emotions from everyone. She refused to acknowledge her pain but also her love. But Ruby hit the balance of accepting the loss but not letting it become obsessive. To let go but not forget. To be able to express their feelings to those who matter even if they have to put on a brave face when needed. Say what you want about the ending but this commentary on handling grief and trauma is powerful for those fighting through it.
This. this was the only thing I liked about the ending honestly. but it could've still been written a little better because the way it was written made it look like Ai and Ruby were completely the same.
@@SeaAngel24676 Only Ruby’s lines at the end. Throughout the chapter you can tell Ruby and Ai were different. Ai was never that close with anyone in B-Komachi; she never let them see the real her. They were never there for her to maybe open up to. Even her manager didn’t know the real Ai. Hikaru didn’t know the real AI because she didn’t even let him in. But it Mem-Cho and Kana came to comfort Ruby. Akane kept checking on Ruby too even if she wasn’t a member of B-komachi. Ruby let them in. That’s the difference.
@@ninjagirl226 Yes, I know that all. Maybe it's just the translated version I read, but the way Aka wrote everything in the chapter, it literally said "She's become just like Ai, lying all the time." and just like you've said, she didn't. so I don't know why he wrote that. I know Ruby is different from Ai, I know all of this, I'm complaining about how the chapter itself was executed, but it might actually be translation differences, I'll check for that later.
It's been a wild ride with lots of highs and lows. I know most people (myself included) aren’t loving the ending, but it's time to say goodbye. Honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings.I'm sad for the characters but also kinda relieved the series is finally over. Big thanks to you, Zephyr, for breaking it down so well. I’ll keep following your channel alwayss!
this is massive cope. another shit ending for another subpar manga. they can't figure out what the entire point of their stories was and just kind of, end it. no story wrap up, no themes or messaging, just moving their characters around like cardboard cutouts

(2003-2035) ----‐-------------------------------------------------------- *i might be wrong with death year/age. if aqua and hikaru died at 2036, then Aqua would be 18 and Hikaru would be 33.😅 *edit for Sarina
@@ZephyrRetro I want to know what will history repeats itself. Um because i completely forgot about the episode one ss 1 and i just started watching onk again from chapter 163. Just want explanation hehe.
@@akhandtripathipyz9888 also while Goro did lose Sarina, Sarina suffered the pain of her illness and abandonment by her og family, (goro did have dead mom he felt guilt abt) Ruby mourned Aqua/goro dying twice while Aqua once. They both experienced Ai’s death and Aqua was prob affected more by it but overall Ruby did suffer more when u look at that way tbh.
Final opinion: This ending isn't bad, but it also isn't very good. While Aqua's death serves as a fitting conclusion to his character, it leaves too many plot holes. The ending feels rushed, and I wished to see more of Ruby's suffering rather than just a few panels. I'm also uncertain about the message that everyone moves on and that's it. If there had been more buildup to this message, showing in greater detail how the characters truly felt and how they gradually accepted their circumstances, it would have made a stronger impression. Instead, the conclusion arrived too quickly and feels like lazy writing. I’ll give the ending a 6.5/10 it's not bad, but it certainly isn't great either.
A bit sad about my favorite girl having the narrator role at the end of the story meaning she is the only one who knows the truth. Aqua's story, his debriefing, will endure only in Akane's heart (sorry, too much MGS3)... Let's hope the special chapter will give some closure to not just Akane but to the other characters as well... I hope you can also cover that special chapter...
If it is indeed a special chapter, I’ll definitely try to cover it! Hopefully there’s an official release for it online. As for Akane, I would’ve liked to see more of her in this chapter, but her having the narrator role does show her importance to the story as well, which is enough to satisfy me XD
@@ZephyrRetro as per Aka's latest tweet, there will be an 18-page extra material and a novella about Kana and Akane's past and future. Now I'm interested...
Man the MGS3 reference 😢....The sacrifice of Boss and only Snake/Big Boss (along with EVA) knowing the truth hurts so much man....and now same for Akane (my favorite girl too) to suffer with the fact being the only one to realize the truth. But at least the other twin can be happy and Akane (and Kana) could watch over Ruby 🥹.
Tbh I like that they showed that B-Komachi recruited new members but I also rly wish they showed smth like how this girl was affected by Ruby and wanted to join or hinted at from before.
Honestly these past 10 chapters have been really hard for me to read, everything i was longing to see for the final arc was crushed to smithereens release after release. - What was the point in stating how emotionally devastated Hikaru was by seeing how Ai truly loved him, only to cut his character completely and make him reappear as the final and true villan because it "had to be this way"? - What was the point in letting Aqua dream and yearn to live his life surrounded by the people he loved and wishing to become a doctor? - What was the point in paving the way for Aqua and Kana to finally confess their love for each other the day of Kana's last concert? - What was the point in showing Akane's resolve and determination to stop Aqua from doing anything reckless and selfish? - What was the point in making Ruby reunite with her most cherished person and wanting to become an idol that doesn't convey lies as opposite to her mother? I can't praise an ending that deliberately ignored any relevant plot point and character's growth only for the sake of drama and tragedy. Aka, if you had already set the tone for the ending to be this dark from the beginning, you shouldn't have shown us all this light and hope.
Id argue a good tragic character death requires unresolved threads like these but for some reason it just doesn't work at all in this case. Maybe it's because Aqua's death feels so dumb and unnecessary.
The point is to give us false hope and then leave us to die when they crush those hopes. Why? Because this manga is an evil experiment comparable to Unit 731 in WW2. Well maybe not that evil but you know what i mean.
the fact that Aqua still wanted to live and be happy is what made me have an ultimately favorable opinion of this manga series overall despite all its evident shortcomings and the obvious rushing of the last arc. You can tell the author's passion for this story kinda just went dry for some reason and decided to wrap it up and that is fine by me. I'd rather see the end of a story I loved so much than end up being another Hunter X Hunter with no end in sight. Thank you good sir for covering this, I am certainly sticking around for your next project :) peace o/
Just like Ruby we all have to live with that pain in our hearts with the ending we got of Oshi No Ko 😭 and yep like you said Tsukuyomi was a big fat fraud yapper right up to the very end 😂 but I'm definitely looking forward to that special edition chapter on December 18th but thank you Zephyr it's was definitely a fun ride and a privilege to have shared it with you guys.🥲👍
Bro thank you for sticking around and always commenting on the vids. Really appreciate you man ✊ and hopefully that special chapter gives us some more info on that fraud girl 😂
To me, I don't think the Crow girl is a fraud. After all, not even gods can save someone who is dying, which is Aqua. Also, it is death u talking about. Even if she brings Aqua out of the water, he is still bleeding and dies soon. I mean, does she have healing powers?
He was already broken by Airi, and I believe she was his first indirect kill after Hikaru talked her husband into killing her. Ai just happened to met him somehow and end up in a relationship, not knowing the kind of man he is. She truly was unfortunate.
@@merimkastrat5846tbh I don’t think Hikaru led the husband to kill Airi, I feel like he js told him abt it bc he wanted to let it out and was scared/helpless at that time not knowing what’ll happen.
@@Novaurawr Well…. He used that same tactic as an adult where he talks others into killing famous people. Hikaru is the root of all this as evident in the manga. He was the main source that convinced others into killing.
Hikaru truly goes as a tragedy...that man was probably too afraid to figure out if Ai really "doesn't" love him, and lacked the strength to do it, and it costs him EVERYTHING... UA-camr Mr Ballen, a veteran from Navy Seals, ALWAYS describes him seeking mental help as "I stepped out of my comfort zone", and that's what he has that Hikaru lacked, the courage... Hopefully, if Ruby DID end up with a guy who was like Hikaru when he came to Ai, she knows what not to say to him...
@@ZephyrRetro It may be tricky, since, again, all began with Ai's lie, and Hikaru's fear of confirming that the lie was true, and Hikaru ends up being SO dark that only Ai can talk through him The only other way i see possible for Ruby to help these people is to either literally or metaphorically drag them to a professional Hikaru is strong in his own way though...most others may have just "Go before their time" with that magnitude of hardship I got that wording from Rebuild Eva on Shinji's therapy scene on a certain someone, where Shinji said he's afraid to figure out that this person really hates him

Even though I don’t really like the pacing of these last few chapters, and even though I heavily disagree with the direction of the ending (in my personal opinion), I’m still grateful to this story in a way. I say this because I was an anime only person, but I started checking out the manga because of your videos, and oshi no ko became the first manga I ever checked out. Despite my mixed feelings of the ending, I still had a blast reading this manga, and it’s an incredible and well written story at the end of the day. Now that this story is over, I want to check out more manga now. Thank you Aka for Oshi No Ko, and thank you Zephyr for your videos and for getting me into reading manga ❤️
Wow, it’s cool to hear that OnK was your first! Glad to hear you at least enjoyed reading the manga, even considering how it ended. There’s definitely a lot of good series out there as well, so hopefully you can find some more that you’ll enjoy! 😄
To be honest, I did share something similar to you. Like you, I only saw it in the anime, which I wasn't interested in it, despite I did read some other manga series such as Demon Slayer. But then, because of his videos, it's like it got my attention, and I started to like it more. Thank you for reminding me, and also, I felt bad for Aka, and I don't blame him much.
Bro can't stop violating the crow girl 😭 Nah but, i kinda feel the whole thing is really rushed and it doesn't end up convincing me that nothing really changed in the end. Like, Kana never got with Aqua, Akane couldn't save Aqua and Ruby ended up the same as Ai even when we had like whole parts and chapters dedicated to Ruby so she stopped trying to be like Ai. I still like Onk tho
I think the reason why aqua died its cause he finished protecting Ruby and Ruby was the one deserving the new life, cause she hadn’t had one as Sarina-chan
I wished that both siblings got to live in the end, but if the sacrifice was to give Ruby a better and safer life then at least some good came from Aqua's sacrifice, even though he could have planned it out better so he didn't have to end up that way.
5:51 I really hope that when this gets adapted in the anime one star will be purple and the other one blue to symbolize both Ai and Aqua. Edit : The door theory was the greatest foreshadowing in the anime...
@@Novaurawrthat would truly make a attack on titan like ending, the ai and hikaru could've ended wholesome aswell, but they were just 2 traumatized teens with problems.

@@Novaurawr yeah, that's true, I haven't read the manga in much detail, but it could've ended with better if hikaru actually came to meet her or if she didn't just leave him alone at his worst.

Tbh, it could've ended positively, if ai didn't just break up with him in the most bizzare way possible or he decided to find out the truth and went to actually met her.
I think that this review ties in random stuff surprisingly well. Like I didn’t even think of the door scene being relevant. I think we readers try to think what did the author do in the anime and manga that makes this impactful? And I think this series will be the most impactful series I will ever watch. The ending may of been kinda lame, but I like how it fits well with the story.
Damn, it’s Hoshinover. Or, Oshi no Kover. XD. But on a serious note, this manga wasn’t just a story to me; it was a journey, an exploration of complex characters, and a deep dive into the harsh realities and beautiful nuances of the entertainment industry. I’m filled with gratitude for the ride, and a strange mix of sadness and happiness now that it’s over. It’s rare to find a series that makes you feel so much, and this one has managed to do that time and again. A massive thank you to Akasaka-sensei and Yokoyari-sensei for bringing this story to life. The artistry, the storytelling, the themes, and the characters felt damn realistic at times. Though there certainly were some dips in quality along the way - especially nearing the finale - those moments didn’t diminish my fondness of the story. ONK took risks, delved into themes not often explored, and delivered a tale that stayed impactful from start to finish. Ai, Aqua, Ruby, Kana, Akane, Mem, Hikaru, and literally everyone else are genuinely some of the characters I’ve e been most interested in. I can’t help but hope this isn’t entirely the end. There are still so many layers to explore, so much depth in these characters and this world that could lend itself to spinoffs or side stories. Whether we get those or not, though, I’m grateful for what we got-a series that struck a balance between the dark and the light, leaving us with something unforgettable. Reading the newest chapter on a weekly Wednesday night has become a ritual for me, and it’s a damn shame that today’s the last day I can do such a thing. I’m sad it’s over, but also incredibly happy to have experienced this journey alongside the characters. Didn’t expect an idol manga to have a special place in my heart. 💫
This is an utterly disappointing ending... It ruins multiple character arcs (Aqua starting to believe that he should live, Ruby stating that she wouldn't be like her mother...). What was the point of all that Kana vs Ruby conflict if Ruby was going to turn out like her mother anyway? Wasn't it supposed to highlight their differences and prove that history wouldn't repeat itself? I'm just very, very disappointed.
I love how you chew out crow girl. Honestly even though this is a well written ending I still would’ve wanted Aqua to live. In chapter 118 crow girl said that Ai might’ve been watching her children as a star so I definitely think that those two stars are Aqua and Ai. At least they got to see Ruby follow her dreams
“The history book on the shelf, is always repeating itself” Thanks for your videos, they always give me something to look forward to. I am sad that the manga ended nonetheless. The manga def came full circle with Ruby surpassing Ai, and basically becoming the next Ai, while also continuing the cycle of lies because that’s what she needs to survive. It’s bittersweet. Your reviews were always the best, I may or may not tune in for more after I grieve the manga ending lol ✌🏼
The door theory was so tragic 😭 I wish Aqua lived but I guess that means that Aka’s bittersweet ending worked. Lets hope Ruby doesn’t meet up with psycho 👀👀
The crow girl really is the worse, she could have saved him even but no, let him die. Standing on the water doing nothing. Wat was her point in this series she did nothing. She is indeed a fraud.
1:24 The ending of season to spoil the whole ending for Ruby Ruby, running wearing black clothes is exactly like in the season two ending season, one and two ending spoil the whole ending for the manga. It was right there we just never noticed they were telling us the ending in the ending all along I can’t believe nobody noticed it was right there all along 🤩
In my opinion, aqua and ruby both deserve to live a happy life... Aqua and ruby both sufferred for 2 lives straight.... I hope that if there is an aqua and ruby somewhere in the multiverse, I hope that they will live hapilly together eternally.... Honestly I hope that if the oshi no ko universe is real somewhere out in the multiverse, I hope there is a happy ending😢 Also thanks zephyr for following this manga. ❤
I feel the ending kinda sucked, it doesn't change anything for Ruby and just puts her in the role of Ai, So, what changed ? Ruby just replaced Ai with the trauma, Atleast Ai had her children, Ruby has no family left now. The ending also does no justice for Aqua , the guy suffered through two shitty lives already , what the hell dude ? Aqua needs a better ending and he was smart enough , why did he have to sacrifice himself to save Ruby ? Cant he find another way to take his revenge ? The ending totally undermines Aqua's character. It makes him look dumb as well, If are dead, who will protect Ruby now if anything happens ? The dead cannot protect anyone. Sensei and Aqua were not these kind of characters , and the ending also fails and ruins the message of the 15 year lie that Ai wanted to convey in the first place. This is such a stupid ending honestly. It really takes a lot of characters out of their personality and exists just for the sake of being an ending. A great 9/10 manga was 1/10 ending.
I didn’t liked the ending but I was satisfied by it there isn’t really nothing more I would’ve expected but there is things I would’ve wanted at the end I just had to wake up to reality to come to the conclusion that the ending was good it was hard but yeah I definitely liked the ride and honestly I wish to see more from the autor
Bruh i was expecting a good ending: aqua gets saved by the crow girl he wakes up in a hospital with everyone around him then marries kana and then happy happy happy
Wasn't Ruby supposed to be different from AI? Aqua told her that lying is not for her and in the end she just became AI 2.0, i feel some character regression here in the story. Thanks for covering.
That’s what I’m thinking too, tbh I don’t rly mind Aqua dying but I wish Ruby was portrayed differently bc Ruby was supposed to be like an idol of truth and pureness instead of lies.
What if you wanted a happy ending But aka akasaki said: Aqua dies, Ruby becomes ai (I really expected her to die), the others move on. Imo, making the "and then the cycle continues" ending is kinda ass, no offense.
now Ruby become fully into AI, wich is sad in a part, because of the whole "i tell lies after lies", but on the happy side, she is now living her dream, been the greatest idol ever.
Funny how The cycle is still here and it kinda breaks all the things Aqua has done.... But no, Aqua was always been for revenge not to change society. Though the movie is still up, there's at least that. I remember a quote my Father told me. "Let them see what they have done, let them review themselves, Change comes after Work. It's the realisation."
Realisation kicked in. I saw the last chapter whole day ago, and i was sure that Aka will kill Aqua since 163, but only now fully realised that: *Damn, Aqua is dead dead*. Idk, i was giggling like "oh he's gonna reincorporate again" or something but he didn't. Like, both me being sure that Auqa will die after 163 and that i thought that he would reincarnate again lowkey ruined the ending for me emotionally cause i was ready and couldn't actually fully understand the characters. Maybe that my personal problem cause when my Grandma and Hamster died I haven't like fully realised it for quite some time. When my mom told me that it hit me like 2 hrs later, than again somewhere around 2 days later and a week later. And when my hamster died i continued checking the place his cage were for like 2-3 months. First two weeks every time i saw that the cage wasn't there the fact that he died hit me again and again.
I don't know why i felt the story is incomplete because what about aqua feelings about kana and akane's reaction to aqua's death ( she didn't seens little bit sad at all )
I like this ending. With how oshi no ko try to tell a story abt the realistic dark world we're actually living, it also give a realistic happy ending for the characters. Everyone have their own pain, but going forward is what makes life become hopeful for a happy ending.
Eh, the ending kinda felt sloppy considering the lead up more so just served for readers to pick apart the ending, rather than bolster the messaging of the story.
@@deadalkabobfr it's a dumb ending, all this guys are just making it more good then it is. It's like the auther is trying go on aot or jjk ending type but fail, there are so many things still unknown and would have been good character development. But the auther just made it worse.

@@pvpr27 it’s realistic because you can’t just suddenly change the status quo with the snap of a finger. I bet you if Aka ended it that way people would have still complained about it and called it a BS ending anyway.

What an ending for me. I may only see the anime before the manga, which I wasn't interested at first. But now I am, and I guess it's finally over. There is still the extra chapter in the final volume along with the light novel in December, I hope u will cover that up on that time. I will say thank u for everything u have done, especially sharing the story with me and all others. I'm glad that I got to know you from each other. Also, I'm happy that Ruby is able to move on forward to the future Ai and Aqua left for her despite she never get over their losses. For she becomes an idol that shines brightly from the darkness and while she may becoming like Ai, she is better than that. I also thank Aka and Mengo for making the story possible after this years. Good luck then, and I hope u work hard and well.
Thank u so much for making videos abt Oshi no ko bro The ending wasn t the best but it was a good one Happy that Ruby can move on now Cannot wait for your new manga
Honestly, this manga has been such an emotional rollercoaster. So sad to see the manga got rushed. I’ll take what I can get tho since even Aka wanted to end his story this quick. The ending wasn’t what I hoped for but I honestly expected a major death back in the days that I was anticipating for more and more OnK chapters. It was fun but there’s still many questions that are unanswered tbh. Thanks for making these reviews. I feel a bit mixed abt the ending and want to see a bit more of the future after Aqua’s death but atp it can’t be helped unless they make some spin-offs and add some info which they most likely won’t do. I’m still not over the fact that this manga is over. But, it’s all over besides the special chapter we have to wait for in December. (I still pray there’s a chance for a spin-off or a slight bit more information on the future of the story besides the special volume/chapter.) welp it’s ggs chat. It was a fun ride
There is that Akane and Kana light novel coming out, so ig there’s that to look forward too. I really wanna see more of the future of the characters, so hopefully we get more content 🤞
@ ig so yea but I mean like it’s most likely going to be pretty short since I believe aka wants to end his story quick like he has said in an interview. Well, there’s so many loopholes and unsolved questions in the story though so I hope theres gonna be more content still outside of the manga like the novels.
I like finally seeing the extend of Ruby's grief, but I still wanted Taiki and Ruby to interact since he's the only blood-relation in this world. The ending is devicsive in my eyes but satisfying Well its finally over...now what do i do
I think Aka fixed the ending here. Ruby's brokenness from Aqua's death being the forever lie that Ruby has to put up makes sense. Aqua's death is literally the most tragic thing that can happen to Ruby.
I just heard that the special and regular edition will have so many pages...like COME ON..THEY BETTER NOT CHANGE IT BUT THIS JUST GETS ME SOOO HYPED UP ABOUT IT!!!!'' I LUV AKA SAKA..AND MENGO! HOPE THIS WAS ALL A BIG FAT NIGHTMARE AND DREAM...WHICH REVEALS THAT EVERYONE IS ACTUALLY ALIVE AND ALL THAT. NGL... CROW GIRL AS I EXPECTED DIDN'T EVEN GIVE THE AI.KEYCHAIN BACK TO RUBY!!!''' UGHHHHHH CURSE U,AKA SAKA FOR MAKING HER USELESS!!!!
What a long journey for you and me in this as it is finally over for Oshi no ko. I felt sorry for Ruby as she had been crying so much after Aqua's death and must have been in pain more than anyone else. Yet, I'm glad that she stood up to move forward and fulfill the dreams Ai and Aqua wanted as she performed in the Tokyo Dome with everyone watching her dance, becoming the best idol to everyone. Well, there is still the extra chapter in December to cover up, and we will be excited while waiting for season 3 of the anime next year. What story in that chapter will be, we will find out soon. For the conclusion of the series, I will say it was satisfying enough for me. it doesn't matter what others expected. Thank you, Zephy, for covering Oshi no ko in its story and sharing it with us. I and all others appreciate you and your work, and I'm glad that I got to know you. It was indeed a fun ride for us.
Tbh I don’t think a reincarnation of Ai/Aqua or have him fake his death would’ve been a great choice it would’ve felt even more rushed than his death due to being in the last 2-3 chaps.
Here's my opinion regarding overall of Oshi No Ko's story: Was the story that bad? I would say not really. I think the intention of the mangaka created the story was not romanticizing the entertainment industry in real life, instead they were trying to tell us about the dark side of it. People are trying harder to be popular, even they could sacrifice their own life to get there. And there are consequences when you are one step away to get on top. Either hide lies, or die because you're exposing it. Especially in Japan, there are certain "golden rules" to be on top like what we read on some arcs in the manga. I have a friend who were working as an Idol in my country, and the way she told the story about life as an idol, it was 100% related to Oshi No Ko. The thing that I said the story is not really bad, is because there are still some plot holes. And yes, hopefully the special chapter next month will answer our questions.
As a person who read this chapter 4 hours later after its release, I'll say something that the whole reddit will be after my ass. The bittersweet ending in the whole context of the story being "Japan's Idol Industry" Is a perfect ending in that context and the stories of Aqua, Ruby, Kana and Akane were a sub plot for the main motive of the story that fans don't want to accept. Onk was never a romance, the love part was used to increase tension and drama not a main part of the story's foundation. I'll give credit to Master Aka about creating a story although flawed, just good to corner the protagonist at a point and the other factors reinforcing the action directly proportional. Since in a country like Japan, no one would ever believe in reincarnation mumbo jumbo (real statistics say that most of Japan's population is atheist) But my praise aside, Kana got the shortest end of stick as Aka hyping up her Galaxy Eyes was just False Marketing at it's worst and what's the goddam spirit realm of this world is about? Tsukyuomi from shintoism, from what I know has somewhat of a reincarnation power. Looks like Aka just made her a plot device of info yapping. But alas, the story is done. Looks like gotta wait Spring 2025 for what another Said Disappointment is Aka cookin?
I think what OnK needed was more chaps. I’m fine with the ending, but I think we needed more interactions & explanations for stuff rather than stuff being changed we needed stuff added.
Can’t believe it’s been four years. I was one of the first people to read this manga when it first came out. I remember when I first started reading it you don’t have 20 chapters out. I am proud that I was one of the first people to read this when it was brand new I can’t believe it finally ended it’s a sad day we will not have any new chapters every Wednesday to read anymore. What a journey it has been today is a bittersweet day thank you aka and mengo For bringing us this amazing story even though I am not completely satisfied with the ending I really enjoyed the whole Manga It has been a while 4 years I am satisfied, but also sad this manga ended. I’m kinda in the same boat lol started when there was like 15-20 chapters, so pretty early too, except I took breaks and would catch up every few months or so until I started making reviews. The ending was very bittersweet, but I’m satisfied as well. Definitely gonna be missing this one 🥲
I mean, I get what Aka was going for but the fact that he rushed through a lot of things, left a lot of side plots hanging, and just circling back to where it all started, thereby rendering the previous character developments null and void while also sending a counterproductive message despite all previous undertones pointing otherwise is…………. …. yeah this kind of shit is inexcusable 😂
it's a semi-decent ending I guess? but it really suffers from not having enough pages to finish or expand on the idea, 28 pages for a finale is just wrong, could've used some extra ones to idk show more of how ruby and girls bounced back from the grief and sadness, more on the journey of b-komachi to the dome, otherwise it looks like a "oh he died, anyway" moment, another "it's not bad but could've been much better" ending to the recent pile of finished manga
Started watching this from a normal anime to catching upto the end of manga. In the end it just turned out to be a masterpiece with a average or rather bad ending. Surely this will be missed……
Just like the ED for season 1 foreshadowed Aqua’s end, the ED for Season 2 foreshadowed Ruby’s end. Visually, she’s wearing the same outfit, and the scene of her running is almost identical to the one from the ED. But also, I feel like the lyrics of the song represent Ruby’s feelings by the end of the story as well.
I'm gonna be honest. I really hoped that Kana will be winner, I admit it! However that's not my biggest problem. Yeah, I was scared seeing Aqua's last moments and I cried seeing my lovely Kana so broken. Poor girl :( But the story lead nowhere. First Ruby as Sarina suffered and than another life time because why not Aka, right? Aqua manipulator decided to be a badass by taking his life. COME ONE! REALLY!? Oshi no ko ended with ....what? Nothing changed except everyone recived huge trauma. . Conratulations Aqua, you idiot! Any ending would be better. Unfortunate, but knowing how Ai never really wanted to specifically meet Hikaru, Ruby may end up in the same place, but if she DID end up meeting someone who has the same condition as Hikaru when he came to Ai, she at least knows what not to do
Oh, and BTW, Hikaru is no psychopath, these people feel no guilt and have zero remorse. If Hikaru is exactly that, he might even spit on Ai with a "She was too stupid" or stuff like that after the revelation of that message of Ai talking about him, then act like nothing happens. He won't care about Ai's value at all, though he'll be more likely to kill anyone risking his reputation...

Pretty sure that's the point
I feel so conflicted with this journey, reading oshi no ko was...a lot and now that it's ended, I am not sure why I am unsatisfied with this ending.
You’re unsatisfied with this ending because it was more bitter than sweet.
It ended on a open note instead of a conclusion
They killed the main character, that must be why your unsatisfied
damn you sure gave a lot of analogies and references.
I really agree killing Kamiki was unecessary, if he got arrested both he and nino would ve received life in prison without parole
But Ruby isn't safe for good because there could still be crazy idol fans out there 😭
@uniz258 Aye, crazy fans are a constant danger when you're famous
Make it Kana, would redeem her from being an annoying selfish brat
Eh rushed ending have already been kind of normal for manga for many years now. For me, it’s become less of how you can pace but more so if your ending perfectly contextualizes and cultivate the overall themes of the story. For me at least, I feel like Oshi no Ko’s ending did just that. Also, I’m okay with Aqua’s sacrifice, I just don’t know if I like the way it happened.
I mean the fans have been pressuring him and he became bored of the story he made so he rushed it
@@LurenceSaragena is there actually any proof that he got bored? I always felt this was some kind of excuse for every time a story ends shorter or weirder than expected. Maybe he actually was done and didn’t feel the need to drag it, you know? But I can definitely believed that he might have been pressured from the fans and it might of changed certain outcomes of the story.
I think the ending about ruby becoming like ai is perfect, it's like a cycle, she's become the ai 02, idk what ending you're expected
For Ai and Aqua, they said lies becuase they couldn't express their love properly and for Ruby she uses lies because she can't express her grief.
We see a crow sitting on a roof during the concert, so i think it's Tsukuyomi who continues to keep an eye on Ruby. i also think she is just the goddess who carries the souls of the dead as she said previously, she can't directly interact.

@@ninjagirl226 nah humanity shall fall regardless

EXACTLY!!!
The point is to give us false hope and then leave us to die when they crush those hopes. Why? Because this manga is an evil experiment comparable to Unit 731 in WW2. Well maybe not that evil but you know what i mean.
This manga is secretly an evil experiment to see if mangas could be used as a torture device. Because it worked and now i'm depressed
@@noobymooby-ty8gh This implies a level of competence that I have trouble believing in.
All we need is crow girl sitting by herself with a hourglass and flipping it over for the ending scene to make this the perfect ending
the incest ending
the fact that Aqua still wanted to live and be happy is what made me have an ultimately favorable opinion of this manga series overall despite all its evident shortcomings and the obvious rushing of the last arc. You can tell the author's passion for this story kinda just went dry for some reason and decided to wrap it up and that is fine by me. I'd rather see the end of a story I loved so much than end up being another Hunter X Hunter with no end in sight.
Thank you good sir for covering this, I am certainly sticking around for your next project :)
peace o/
It makes sense. Nobody really _wants_ to die.
@@ZephyrRetroI know bro hopefully she doesn't end up becoming a meme as the most useless girl in anime right next to Sakura Haruno 🤣
To me, I don't think the Crow girl is a fraud. After all, not even gods can save someone who is dying, which is Aqua. Also, it is death u talking about. Even if she brings Aqua out of the water, he is still bleeding and dies soon. I mean, does she have healing powers?
Just a theory of Hikaru:Airi probably started to make him break and when ai broke up with him it drove him to madness
I think that it is pretty much what happened, so it is a good theory
He was already broken by Airi, and I believe she was his first indirect kill after Hikaru talked her husband into killing her.
Ai just happened to met him somehow and end up in a relationship, not knowing the kind of man he is. She truly was unfortunate.
@ true
Hopefully Ruby avoids those types of guys. She might feel bad for them, but she should know the possible dangers that come with them too.
@@ZephyrRetro It may be tricky, since, again, all began with Ai's lie, and Hikaru's fear of confirming that the lie was true, and Hikaru ends up being SO dark that only Ai can talk through him
The only other way i see possible for Ruby to help these people is to either literally or metaphorically drag them to a professional
Hikaru is strong in his own way though...most others may have just "Go before their time" with that magnitude of hardship
I got that wording from Rebuild Eva on Shinji's therapy scene on a certain someone, where Shinji said he's afraid to figure out that this person really hates him
Oh my a fellow Mrballen subscriber here. Gotcha.😊 I've always loved his storytelling.
@@Bella-id3nb Same here, didn't expect i'm going to find one here

5:51 there are now two stars in the sky symbolizing that aqua and Ai are now together now and are watching over everyone from the sky aqua may have died but He’s with his mother now living peacefully in the heaven it’s Sad Aqua died but at least he’s with his mother Ai 😢😭
I am gonna miss your onk chapter uploads it was such a ride of emotions ❤
Bro can't stop violating the crow girl 😭
Nah but, i kinda feel the whole thing is really rushed and it doesn't end up convincing me that nothing really changed in the end.
Continue the great work Idol
5:51 I really hope that when this gets adapted in the anime one star will be purple and the other one blue to symbolize both Ai and Aqua.
Edit : The door theory was the greatest foreshadowing in the anime...
And I wonder what different ending it will be next year.
The cycle repeating itself like Attack On Titan lol 😅 here's to hoping whatever handsome guy Ruby falls for, doesn't turn out to be another Hikaru
Ruby should know better. Hopefully she gets out of there as soon as she’s red flags 😂
Imagine Ruby js falls in love with an abused traumatised teen actor and the cycle continues 💀
@@Novaurawrthat would truly make a attack on titan like ending, the ai and hikaru could've ended wholesome aswell, but they were just 2 traumatized teens with problems.
@@Dakrnesschronicle tbh miscommunication and their lack of experience was the main problem with Ai & Hikaru imo, tbh I think Ruby does have a bit more experience & communicate better than Ai.
@@Novaurawr yeah, that's true, I haven't read the manga in much detail, but it could've ended with better if hikaru actually came to meet her or if she didn't just leave him alone at his worst.
Imagine if there was a silhouette in front of ruby at the end.
They never did get a lock for the front door😂
That would be a crazy way to end it 😂😂☠️
The cycle continues 💀
Plot twist -
At the end ruby got hit by truck kun on her way out and got isekaid. Isekai no ko
with Ruby being the next Ai, she needs to be careful because there's going to be another Hikaru Kamiki if she repeats the same mistakes her mother did ☠️☠️
Tbh, it could've ended positively, if ai didn't just break up with him in the most bizzare way possible or he decided to find out the truth and went to actually met her.
Thanks for all your Oshi No Ko reviews, will miss seeing you're updates on it
I’m gonna miss talking about it fr. I’m glad you were able to enjoy them tho 😄
That’s a good reference you brought up with ch 118. I really do think it would be perfect if those stars were Aqua and Ai watching over Ruby 😌
Well writen ending is debatable it felt rushed and they could have done better
2:06 That's not a restaurant, that's a classroom
“The history book on the shelf, is always repeating itself”
Thanks for your videos, they always give me something to look forward to.
I don’t even think info from the special chapter can save her now. She really did nothing but yap and watch Aqua die 😂☠️
[Oshi no Ko] concludes with 166 episodes. Idol's bpm (tempo) is 166. It's truly genius that the ending of the story is foreshadowed.
In my opinion, aqua and ruby both deserve to live a happy life... Aqua and ruby both sufferred for 2 lives straight.... I hope that if there is an aqua and ruby somewhere in the multiverse, I hope that they will live hapilly together eternally....
Honestly I hope that if the oshi no ko universe is real somewhere out in the multiverse, I hope there is a happy ending😢
Also thanks zephyr for following this manga.
😂😂😂😂 in expetentions
Wasn't Ruby supposed to be different from AI? Aqua told her that lying is not for her and in the end she just became AI 2.0, i feel some character regression here in the story. Thanks for covering.
Yeah Ig they’re lying about differing things. Ai for love and Ruby for her suffering, but in the the end they’re both still lying always.
@@ZephyrRetrothat’s a better way to look at it that they’re lying abt diff things at least then they’re js the same Ig
That’s what I’m thinking too, tbh I don’t rly mind Aqua dying but I wish Ruby was portrayed differently bc Ruby was supposed to be like an idol of truth and pureness instead of lies.
Dropping this before even watching it this is the type of ending I would never watch it I already had less expectations from it
What if you wanted a happy ending
But aka akasaki said:
Aqua dies, Ruby becomes ai (I really expected her to die), the others move on.
Imo, making the "and then the cycle continues" ending is kinda ass, no offense.
If Ruby were a real person I will hug her so badly
I’m glad I never bought the manga but at the same time even though it was an ending that we didn’t expect or didn’t want it was still good
Feel like the S2 ED is really showing with Ruby running.
now Ruby become fully into AI, wich is sad in a part, because of the whole "i tell lies after lies", but on the happy side, she is now living her dream, been the greatest idol ever.
And probably* won't be killed by any other obsessed fan cuz Ai and Aqua lit up her future apparently
I was hoping that we could see Ai and Aqua watching Ruby in the final pannel but the final panel I liked it as well
Same! I was really hoping to see those two, but ig the two stars is the closest we got to that.
ngl aka really loved the word "lie" in this series that it becomes cringier everytime someone says it in the manga, like stfu bro we get it
Time for Zephyr to dismantle the film industry irl
😈
I was hoping somehow aqua will wake up in this chapter revealing he was in a comatose state all along but it's quite disheartening
Honestly, I don't get how that ending is realistic.
@pvpr27 fr it's rushed and utter garbage, all this people who say it's good. Didn't even experience all those things and are talking like they experience the worst of the world
@@pvpr27 it’s realistic because you can’t just suddenly change the status quo with the snap of a finger. I bet you if Aka ended it that way people would have still complained about it and called it a BS ending anyway.

I blame Apex Legends. My man too busy gaming
ok
i enjoyed it
it might not be the brightest ending out there but i had fun memories with this.
@ZephyrRetro, u will know what I mean from the comment I send...
Thank u so much for making videos abt Oshi no ko bro
The ending wasn t the best but it was a good one
Happy that Ruby can move on now
Cannot wait for your new manga
I hope they make Oshi no Ko 2 to see how Ruby goes! She truly became like her mother even when she didn't seem like she would ever at the start!❤
Hope so
She's going to have a major mid life crisis
I like finally seeing the extend of Ruby's grief, but I still wanted Taiki and Ruby to interact since he's the only blood-relation in this world. The ending is devicsive in my eyes but satisfying
Well its finally over...now what do i do
I think Aka fixed the ending here. Ruby's brokenness from Aqua's death being the forever lie that Ruby has to put up makes sense. Aqua's death is literally the most tragic thing that can happen to Ruby.

Were getting a bonus/special chapter on December 18th. Which will uncover a "Certain Truth"
What's the point to this certain truth? Is it gonna make this end any better or what? lmao what a joke
Bro you are the best man beginning to the end I watched your videos bro thanks ❤
Appreciate the support, thank you! 😁
Very disappointed that they didn't have Aqua or Ai reincarnate or Aqua fake his death.
Tbh I don’t think a reincarnation of Ai/Aqua or have him fake his death would’ve been a great choice it would’ve felt even more rushed than his death due to being in the last 2-3 chaps.
Yea cuz that would hv been an actually interesting twist in the story than what we got
Here's my opinion regarding overall of Oshi No Ko's story:
Was the story that bad?
Since in a country like Japan, no one would ever believe in reincarnation mumbo jumbo (real statistics say that most of Japan's population is atheist)
But my praise aside, Kana got the shortest end of stick as Aka hyping up her Galaxy Eyes was just False Marketing at it's worst and what's the goddam spirit realm of this world is about? Tsukyuomi from shintoism, from what I know has somewhat of a reincarnation power. Looks like Aka just made her a plot device of info yapping.
But alas, the story is done. Looks like gotta wait Spring 2025 for what another Said Disappointment is Aka cookin?
I think what OnK needed was more chaps. I’m fine with the ending, but I think we needed more interactions & explanations for stuff rather than stuff being changed we needed stuff added.
AAAGHHHH I miss reading oshi no ko😿 before it ended, and it was really fun watching your videos!!!!!!
Hope I can find another manga to replace this one thank you oshi no ko for the four years you have been with us and thank you aka for four years, you wrote the story for us to read. I hope your next manga also is a banger Oshi no ko Truly, is one of a kind Mangal there will never be a manga like this ever again. I’ll miss this story characters, manga, and everything about the series thank you for the last four years 🥹😭
I’m kinda in the same boat lol started when there was like 15-20 chapters, so pretty early too, except I took breaks and would catch up every few months or so until I started making reviews.
Say it with me:
This shit... is so ass
it's a semi-decent ending I guess? but it really suffers from not having enough pages to finish or expand on the idea, 28 pages for a finale is just wrong, could've used some extra ones to idk show more of how ruby and girls bounced back from the grief and sadness, more on the journey of b-komachi to the dome, otherwise it looks like a "oh he died, anyway" moment, another "it's not bad but could've been much better" ending to the recent pile of finished manga
I cried while watching this video such in amazing series and my number 1. Thank you so much for these videos they we're great
Started watching this from a normal anime to catching upto the end of manga. In the end it just turned out to be a masterpiece with a average or rather bad ending. Surely this will be missed……
I have no issues with what happens, it’s how it is all written that is the tragedy.
ED?
@ The ending that would play at end of each episode.
6:07 this reminded me of what Ai said to goro on the hospital rooftop saying how both of them keep piling on lies after lies yet it still being fun
EVEN THAT STUPID incest (personaly I would hate it) ending would be more better than what we've recived. Another AoT. Are you serious? T^T WHY?!
I think it was clear aqua liked kana and kana liked aqua
If he lived pretty sure she would have won
Aka really had me thinking Kana finally got the W only to give her the fattest L imaginable 😂
@@CheekiTiki I don't even care about her slapping you know what. I don't care. She was real, true to herself, not a single star of lie in every single moment of Oshi no ko. I may be stupid but I was always with her no matter what. I even bought her nendroid
@@CheekiTiki i mean almost everyone got fat L
Aka releasing his inner Oprah akane take L kana take L everyone will get L
@@LiricaAtelier yeah i agree i mean the story start with the saying lies become the truth some characters thrived in lies
I never felt kana lied she was genuine
