    When quarantine started my friends and I started going to the gym, we even made individual workout plans. I started meal prepping for myself and some of them too. A few weeks back I remembered my dad boxed in his youth and I wanted to get into boxing to enhance my work at the gym. Now I’ve got all of my friends onboard for some recreational boxing (just messing around, training and fighting with each other when we hang out) this video has helped all of us get a better understanding of boxing basics and we are all 10x more invested into practicing and training now! My dad is also super happy to see me picking up something that he loved. We’re even thinking about joining a boxing gym next town over! Thank you so much!

    Great explanation. Where I train and practice, boxing and savate, the trainers don’t go so deep.
    Maybe because, when you have many athletes, you cannot have the same dedication for everyone.
    In any case, this lesson is very interesting.

    • @hansmatheson5976
      @hansmatheson5976 4 роки тому +3

      It’s pretty rare to see Savate mentioned at all by gyms where I live..
      ..much less there being a gym that specifically trains/teaches Savate and advertises that fact.
      Tbh except for France, nearby regions and (maybe) countries/places who are big on kickboxing, I didn’t think there was any gyms or dojo’s who’s focus was teaching traditional/combat Savate
      It felt like I would only ever hear Savate briefly mentioned when JBJ started using that low line, over-the-knee oblique kick which blew Rogan’s “mind” every time he threw it (as well McGregor a bit later I suppose)
      That said, it’s a fascinating martial art with a lot of unique, effective techniques that are great additions to any combat athletes arsenal and thankfully it looks like more and more people are discovering it and respecting the knowledge it can provide.

    What I’m writing is 100% true. About 2 months ago I got into an absolute unavoidable situation and I had literally no place to go and avoid a violent confrontation. I am a concealed carry pistol carrier but I flat out refuse to use it on an individual who is not armed in some way. The law is meet force with like force. So a fight ensued, all is well, I walked away not going to jail or receiving any real injuries. But my adrenaline took over and I was in the midst of overly gross movements and didn’t like how I did at all. If I EVER have to be forced into another like situation, I want to have the tools to execute a defense based offense. I discovered this gentleman’s video channel 2 weeks ago and because of his play by play instructions and natural ability to teach, my 1-2’s from 2weeks ago till now aren’t even comparable. My stance and footwork have a solid foundation to improve on. I’m now looking around at gyms to learn real world self defense training. Not advanced stuff. Stuff like basic 1-2-3’s, solid stances and footwork with slips , faints , head movement and sidesteps and maybe some parrying and def good blocking. I don’t ever want to fall down and not be able to get up. Most important of all is I need to stress test what I learn against another human and desensitize that adrenaline overload so I can better handle it and maintain micro body movements. Maybe learn some basic ground skills so I do t get my head bashed into the concrete. I want to end the threat without overkill.

    Im practicing your demo Bro, Im a frustrated boxer in 1995, I stop my boxing plan that year just to continue my studies. Ive been in the practice for 1 month on that year but I stop. Now Im interested to go back and to do what you are teaching now. This will be part of my routine exercise while enjoying my retirement in the military service here in the Philippines. Its Pacquiao time when i got interested with boxing in Elorde Gym in Parañaque, Manila. Thanks Bro for your teaching..

    Jason, this is truly helpful. You really did step into the beginner’s mind for this video. I’m getting into boxing for fitness and variety. I’m encouraging my 10 y/o son and 14 y/o daughter to start up as well. In my opinion, foundation is very important. Thank you for this lesson and the inspiration. Appreciate you.

    Hello Sir, I have been a martial artist for 18 yrs . I have been practicing Kung fu. I have good control in my kicks. We in Kung Fu fight in sanda style where hand work is less technical. They will not say anything about foot work,cutting angles and various other things. In order to be at a competitive level in the future I will have to improve my hand work and make it really strong. Through your channel I can better my self every day.😊👍
