Getting ms put a cramp on my new knife acquisitions the last new knife I got was a spyderco dragonfly salt . I miss the fun of opening boxes. I need to try and get a new knife of any sort

I don know about anyone else but a states knife laws are what makes me consider moving there or not moving there, luckily I live in Arkansas and every knife size and type is legal here, including switch blades, so I'm staying here for the time being

Blade profile kind of reminds me of my Benchmade Doug Ritter survival knife !!!!
That's what drew me to the knife in the first place. It is basically a BM redo of the Ritter mod to Griptilian. It looks a lot like the Ritter RSK Mk1.
BTW, Doug Ritter is the main reason I have almost no knife restrictions here in Arizona. Lin Thompson, who owned Cold Steel at the time, walked around in Arizona with a sword, a big belt knife and one of his huge pocket knives in his pocket for a week to show the excellent results from Doug Ritter's lobbying.

It looks similar, but I didn't like as much as my Ritter Grip (same with Hogue). Ritter Grip was one of the best knives Benchmade ever made (up there with 550HG Grip, Ares, AFCK/TSEK, Dejavoo, Ruckus, 940 and Bugout) and like most of their great knives they discontinued it. I'm glad I still own some of them, reminds me of when Benchmade used to be great.

Since you like that they come sharp, its a good thing you weren't getting Benchmades pre 2016 or so. 50/50 chance your knife would have an uneven bevel and could barely cut paper.
The industry has evolved so much in 10 years. Getting a $30-$50 knife with perfect centering, action, on bearings, even grinds and bevel was almost unheard of 7-8 years ago. Even on $100+ knives (that are now almost $200) you'd be impressed if it had all of that. Now its expected and some don't know a world where it's not.

Nice blade, I just wish they wouldn't push the stud so far forward and in the way. They did a great job with the Bugout keeping the stud as close to the frame as possible.
I've got a gen 1 Freek. I took off the thumb stud. It isn't needed to open the knife and it gets in the way of sharpening. Haven't missed it. I just pull the lock and flick to open, or in reverse grip just do a hard wrist flick.

People who complain about the price drive me crazy. Nobody is forcing you to buy it.
You miss the point. They want to buy it and can't. That's the source of their annoyance and I sympathize with them.
You missed the point. I want a Bugatti but can't afford one, that wouldn't make it any less annoying if I complained about it in the comments of every UA-cam video about the car.
@@LoreTunderina Bugatti is a limited edition, hand made and finished car with years of RD and can go 200mph. It's pricetag is justified. Benchmade is like a Honda, but are asking Mercedes or Porsche prices. A Narrows with it's thin piece of m390, 2 thin pieces of milled Ti and an of the shelf pocket clip shouldn't be $550 from a production company. Not when I can buy a one of a kind custom with a m398 blade @64hrc, special carbon fiber scales and a timascus clip for the same money. It's about value and Benchmades don't have it anymore. They new Sibert fixed blades are $360. You can get the same or better materials and better fit and finish from Bradford, BRK, GSO, LT Wright and others for $100 less.

Can't base everything just off of materials. Although I agree Benchmade is over priced by about $60 here. USA made, s90v and CF with a lifetime warranty, $300 isn't bad at all. If it was Hinderer CRK Medford Demko it'd be 550 to start. So the price on the freek isn't to awful at the end of the day
@@D00MTR33 do you also complain to plumbers, electricians, and other people who charge 'too much' for their services? Or do you do what everyone else does and find someone else? Materials, features, performance - none of it matters at all, since there's this wonderful thing about capitalism where people are free to set the value their own goods and services, and anyone who disagrees with that valuation is free to keep on shopping. Again, NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO BUY IT.
So only for the ones sending you money for the channel. I get it, sounds fair to me. I’m not one of them but that’s cool. Good luck to the winner 👍
