So so interesting that all of these men were so willing to protect and defend Dolly until they realized they weren’t as important to her as they thought. She really had them all wrapped around her finger when she needed to.

It seems like Dolly wanted a forbidden romance. She was a housewife without a job, kids, notable hobbies, so keeping her side thing living in the attic of her house never to be seen by prying eyes might have been exciting for her.

For everyone saying Otto doesn’t look 17 I would guess it’s not a photo of him at that age, it’s a nearly a century old case and it’s not like cameras were everywhere and people had a lot of up to date photos of themselves, it’s more likely a photo from around the time of the trial since I doubt he was being photographed while living in an attic for all those years either.
I understood this, but still had a chuckle when that mug showed up when talking about “17 year old Otto”. 😂😂
It's true
he was not discovered until several decades later and he left his old life behind (i.e., no way of accessing all the things he left behind such as photos) and no way Dolly (one person aware he was still alive and knew where he was located) would've taken a photo of him.

This case has always fascinated me, Dolly was living her best life! And for Otto to go along with it for so long, idk what kinda magic she had over him! 😁
it's a very weird case that's less dark than most, but a reminder that murder and cheating on multiple people are very awful things to do. (I guess you could say the murder wasn't completely intentional by either person, but still not cool). I love true crime as much as everyone else here but I feel like we get desensitised to it sometimes! Dolly and Otto are not good people that we should talk positively about.

I have read this story before. Her husband had some medical issue so he couldn’t climb to the attic.
But he could’ve hired someone to go check?? Like an immediate thought I would have is that it could be like rats in the attic then I’d get an exterminator

writers are sort of like that--especially obsessive writers. the isolation but comfort to leave just outside the door for his life and love needs, it was probably a pretty perfect situation for him. she just chose someone who liked and became accustomed to seclusion.
(speaking as a married woman who isolates in the master bedroom most of the day due to anxiety lol)

Otto likely was being gaslighted too. That's why he likely continued to live in the attic. Usually it's a pattern with people who gaslight in their relationships.
The lack of earrings for the first 3 minutes was unsettling but that raspy voice made up for it👌🏻 absolutely love your videos no matter the length. I think we mostly like the longer one because we get more content of you which is always great.
Can someone please explain to me why tf there's even a statute of limitations on killing a human being? That is freaking bonkers to me man! Manslaughter is literally classified as a felony. IMO states like Kentucky and Notth Carolina have the right idea (and several others) anything that's a felony doesn't have a statute of limitations.

I've only discovered you like 2 or 3 weeks ago but you're easily my favorite true crime channel. no matter what the length, you put out the information in such a detailed and interesting way, I could listen to you forever. the only reason I'm sure people love long videos is just to hear the way you tell the story but ofc like you said not all crime can take up 40-60min so it's ok to make shorter videos. we love it no matter what you decode to do!! all the cases you talk about has been very interesting and you do an excellent job

This is definitely an interesting one. Doesnt matter that it wasn't 40 minutes long.. it depends on the case.some cases that I watch the videos get long but it takes forever to get that omg moment.. this case here theirs an omg right from the beginning.. this whole story has you scratching your head. I love cases like this so many opinions and everything I think its great that you can captivate your audience in 40 minutes but its even better if you can do it in 26 minutes. Especially that you still give a lot of information about the case you show as many pictures as you can. You can't always please everyone but I personally think you do an amazing job with your videos.
