I get the same thing towing with our R1T, the regen does not seem to reflect on the SOC percentage or the added miles, but that will stay the same for a long distance. I also experienced the regen heating up and limiting the amount.
Yeah and I think it starts at the dealership but that likely won't happen there would be no incentive to confuse them and have them walk away from a sale.
Actually I find that at least the Signet 150 kW chargers at Electrify America charged my Bolt in the low 40 kW range. I was in a hurry with two kids in the car so I moved to an open 350 kW charger that provided the full speed right away. This happened at several different chargers.
I am curious - why don’t you use some kind of type of "portable solar charging" for your EV while you're at a campsite? If you do, what kind do you use ?
Anything portable just doesn’t provide enough charge. It would be a trickle charge at best. Can’t wait until the tech progresses and we can bring a portable solar with us!
I have found EV efficiency (and range) is surprisingly good in the mountains. The combination of slower highway speeds and regeneration make almost as good as in town driving.
I have been following you since model X. Your travels are so nice. I do have a question. When you are the vehicles safe from some unplugging when you go to dinner or shopping?
Your channel is fantastic! I’m just thinking out load here and I’m not trying to correct what you taught your children. Technically the Mississippi River flows into the Gulf of Mexico that’s connected to the Atlantic that is connected to the oceans of the world! It’s all kind of dumb. Like when is an island big enough to be a continent? Australia is a big island, but why not Greenland? Why is Antarctica not an Island? I think that politics has a lot to do with it (my own theory).
Greenland isn’t a continent because it is an island that is part of the North American Continental plate. Australia sits on it’s own continental plate, so it is a continent. Antarctica is also a continent because it is its own land mass on the Antarctic continent.
Looks like a wonderful family vacation.
Great times had by all !
We love getting out and making memories!
Kept thinking about the Movie About Schmidt. Great video btw.
good idea using the slack line strap things for swings and gymnastics stuff. Ill be stealing that idea
Are you all looking at moving into the Max Pack once its released? And can you use Teslas network with an adapter today?

I wonder if the salesman of that ID.4 said it would take days to charge on the 115 outlet. As in a home outlet? And they just misunderstood?
I hope so, but they were certain he said a 150 charger.
The number of VW ID4 and Chevy Bolt owners who swear their cars charge faster on the 350kW units... We need WAY more education on this.

good idea on the video.. similar to towing the vehicle to recharge batteries..

@@AllElectricFamily - Got it. Thank You.

Many EVs lock the charger into the port when you the vehicle is locked to prevent someone from removing the charger.
Bigfoot is in Naches WA.
We will have to bring Ollie so he can find him!

@@EV_Trek_AdventuresThank you so much Justin. I should’ve remembered that from physical geography and plate tectonics in college.
Glad you’re enjoying the channel. And glad there are people to answer your question!! 😀
When your children grow up you to should be. Less ignorant too
At least we teach our kids to be kind to everyone, always. 🤷🏻♀️
