I just purchased a 30x30 garage from big building direct and I was researching on insulating it and came across your video, I’ve seen guys put furring strips up and using adhesive and double sided tape and all kinds of things I would have to say I love the way you are doing this with pressure fitting. It’s clean and the table saw is giving you a nice square cut and I will be doing the same thing! Thank you for this video. You wouldn’t have to have an updated video on how your garage feels after install would you?

Reason he is doing that it to have an air gap so the metal doesn't hold moisture. If it's directly on the metal like this guy it's possible to trap moisture in and the air can't run through the seems to dry it out and over time can cause it to rust out.

On the side walls the small additional foam pieces should be at floor level. That way heat loss from the seam is less and easier to install. Instead of being on a ladder.

I used the same tape as you did on my joints and to the metal studs and it has held since 2009! Life happened and just getting around to the ceiling and was wondering how to fix it, thanks for the video!

Trick with the foil tape if you get hvac all weather tape it will stick much better and if you put a strip of duct tape first it will even stick better . Or just silicone in between the joints

Your method of strapping for the ceiling panels was probably easier than mine. I got rolls of the metal pipe hanger strapping for plumbing and ran long runs, front to back.
As for tape, nothing stuck to mine. I tried foil tape, and it would fall off within a day. I used the "pressure fit" method as well. I'm in North Florida, and it's been hot here lately. But I'm sure it would be hotter in the garage without the insulation.
I ran all my wiring with MC cables, that I ran before insulating. I would go through the siding grooves to get behind the "studs", with metal boxes every other stud around the garage. Wanted to make sure I had plenty of outlets to minimize needing extension chords. :)

At first I used a few self tapping screws ,then fasten siding over the foam board using longerfasteners...now I just use a few squirts of liquid nail or silicone....
It holds the foamboard to the studs/post to overlay with the siding....the fasteners hold the foam board and siding....if done right
you basically have a big air-tight cooler.
