Great News! Turning The Tide (Expansion 1) was announced today. We have BIG plays for Disney Sorcerer's Arena: Epic Alliances and are looking at releasing 2-3 expansions per year. We hope everyone comes on this journey with us (and gets to play as their favorite character)! 💙
10:18 I thought for a sec you said it was 'funtactical'. I want to say that 'Funtactical' is a great word, and fits a tactical fun Disney fantasy game very well.
Got my copy the other day, I like the way they slowly intro the rules via 4 games aka "chapters." I am hoping to get it played this weekend, or if not maybe I'll take it to my local con next weekend.
@@TheRenaissanceGamer agreed. Unmatched now feels really bland to me, and Funkoverse never had the depth of Unmatched. I oddly am putting this above even Super Fantasy Brawl because while it lacks minis, the core set characters feel more balanced and without the swing scoring, the game doesn't bend to tankier characters. Heck, playing Apprentice Mickey and Malificent is technically doable and fun (both are glass canon-y for those who haven't played). I get rolled in SFB when I play those type of characters vs the higher health defender types.
@@calopez88 in what way? Unmatched has some of the worst sculpted figures and blandest art (IMO of course) in any skirmish game I have played. Beyond that, the decks are not very compelling and allow 0 variation. Funkoverse might look better (I guess if that POP style speaks to you?) but I doubt you will convince the masses that the look of the POP figures is superior to disney or pixar art styles (an assumption made from their wide success). If you meant the look of the game, well, personally I continue to try every 2 player skirmish game that comes out. This is the game both of those wish they could be, had they been built better from the ground up. The Activation system in Funkoverse is neat, but has lead to some design and team problems I think that are easily exploited. Also the "combat" in funkoverse is spending a token to do a pretty basic attack to knock someone over.... Krosmaster had more compelling combat and was also for kids. Unmatched has always been about combat, yet it's combat has never really been as compelling as its counterparts so I think there this game also has a leg up. Beyond that, Funkoverse and this game have always had the advantage of having more popular characters to be introduced. I highly doubt anyone would pick Sinbad over Sully from Monsters Inc, let alone Medusa? Alice?.... The breadth of Disney characters is more compelling and better. If you could be the meh Robin Hood from Unmatched, or the very cool Fox version from Disney, most people would absolutely pick up the Fox version, add in that you then get to team up with a few other characters?! Much better than unmatched.
Flashpoint Fire Rescue has two sets of rules but you have to refer to the easy set for some rules and the advanbced set for other rules. Good thing they have one complete set. Good job.
@@TSDreamCreative The card frames are a reference to the framing elements in the mobile game. We considered going black-flood outside the frames, but the purples pop better against white.
I know the Disney board games have been having a good quality recently but it's kind of weird how they're basing this one off of a mobile game May 2nd months ago
"maybe she has a magic broom, actually she wouldn't have a magic broom cause that can only go on Mickey" I relate to that so much 😂 teaching a game and giving a random example, but can't do a particular example cause it doesn't work within later rules you haven't explained yet 😂
The deck construction is pretty accessible; every character has ten cards, so you take the ten for each of your characters and just shuffle them together. All done!
Mobile App is a Galaxy of Heroes clone, so basically if you'd rather be using Gaston and Winnie the Pooh in your generic mobile game than Deadpool or Yoda, well, this is it.
The game is fun but Im not a huge fan of the board. It kinda feels like a prototypey. Hopefully we get beautiful themed boards with different layouts in the near future. Also we use heart tokens from other games to keep track of health because those rings are frustrating. This game has a lot of potential!
In my opinion this kinda looks like an attempt at recreating a different Unmatched system, but less streamlined and with a much inferior art design and component quality. Not sure why though.

any plans of actual miniatures as replacement?
@@Cat-zc8nj Not at this time! 💙
This game is really great Op Games! Hope we get a decent lifecycle out of it.
@@hoodwinked954 We plan to support Disney Sorcerer's Arena Epic Alliances for many years to come! 💙
Do the expansions have improved base dials for characters?
Thanks for taking a look at Disney Sorcerer's Arena: Epic Alliances. We're excited for people to try it out! 💙
Any hope of marvel or pixar characters in the future?
@@Ashton.camilleri Nothing to announce on Marvel characters. But YES to Pixar! Sulley (From Pixar's Monster's Inc.) is in the Core set. 💙
This looks like it’s got some real potential. I collect and love me some UNMATCHED and now I must collect this one! Great video!
Oh, the expansions are 100% happening ;) And the team-ups are going to be wild. They just announced one expansion today.

already have one up for pre-order a while ago.

@Chris Peach I couldnt find info on the leaked upcoming sets. What characters are coming? 👀

But is it better than umatched and funkovese? Call the round table. We must find out.
100% yes.
Funkoverse and unmatched look way better than this 🤔
This is better than either of those.

Am I the only one that likes the acrylic stand ups for playing pieces? I feel it keeps cost down.
They’re getting more and more positive attention lately. So many good reasons for publishers to use them.
@@seanfletcher4087 I really don't mind them. Vagrant Song used them and they look great. I don't mind character tokens either really.
So its Unmatched Disney Version essentially, seems kinda cool.
I can't find this game in my country, and I'm dying to play it. Any chances you can please scan the cards in like a pdf or so?

Do you have to play good guys vs bad guys ?
I wanna play Ariel but i also liek Gaston, can i put them in one team, does it really matter ?
Yes, you can do that.
did anyone else find these white borders on the cards really bad looking?
I don't mind them because it makes the colors pop, but I would have preferred full bleed.

this looks like funkoverse a bit but with deck building?

Deadpool in a star wars game?

I assume given the announced Tide set has whirlpools that go onto the board, it is like that to simplify for effects.
TheOP is just a rebranded USOpoly, and they are NOT known for quality components... Honestly, acrylic standees is well above standard for them.
I would be all over this if there were minis instead of the stands.
I wish darkwing were there
Used a D20 on the Character card and it was way better. I get kids could choke on dice but for adults i highly recommend Dice.
They need to come out with Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes

Truthfully, once you play it, you'll see if feels nothing like Unmatched. And in fact, I think it has more strategic depth.
More like Super Fantasy Brawl than Unmatched tbh.
