I hope I you do understand me, I did my best but it's delicate to be precise and not for everybody possible to test it of course.
@@onnonugteren2935 I meant plane mode for local files. As for the steamers, these are basically computers based on small portable Linux distros, so it's the same (unless you'll try to use noisy gaming PC). Laptops unfortunately are no better because the power management causes audible noise on all USB lines, even when battery powered. But I can bet that my passive (no moving, mechanical parts inside) 12V LPS powered small i7 toy with bitperfect foobar with ASIO will give any streamer serious, serious run for the money. I had tried some streamers up to CA 851 series level and they were nowhere close to my PC. Even Gustard R26 built in streamer was no better (and that's like 6x more expensive than my htpc, although it has DAC too)
@@k4syx Aha that's interesting. Interesting but again what are you than EXACTLY comparing is the big question now for me? A big list of equipement is necessary than before I could see what you are comparing. In my situation where many things are fairly good in my pc but by far my Lumin U2 mini in my line of very good ethernet cables and with a switch but sharing the same modem sounds a real level higher. A real not subtile better. But I do get your point: a streamer is a kind of computer of course. So it is all about which you compare in what surroundings in the sense of cables, placement even and does it has a good switch. Do we agree somehow? 🙂
@@onnonugteren2935 yes you do, and yes Mojo (great in many other ways) doesn't unfortunately have balanced outs :( But it will work just fine single ended with regular 3.5mm cable that's included with the headphones, and in time, when/if you'll go balanced with your setup, these will be even better!

I do only stream, great way with a lot of choice and possibilities today I think.
Which brings me to what I ment: a top quality streamer will always be the real way to produce quality sound and not a computer with Equaliser or phone or any Android device.
And in that way with a streamer of high quality you don't have an equaliser.
But if you play on a phone you mean consider an equaliser?
I think I do understand it now if above is ment to be. 🙂
I am just always trying to play as purely as possible to avoid bottlenecks in quality.
So confirm if you like or disagree :-) above?
greetings from the Netherlands again!
🙂
By the way I did test this difference and the result is fairly 🙂 HUGE. 🙂 between a very good laptop with a great cable (not wifi) and fantastic modem with a lineair great powersupply etc. etc. and the same way a very high quality streamer both connected to the headphones with a Chord Mojo and good cable usb Audioquest cable.
So a computer is great way to stream but certainly not top quality to my near to laboratory way of testing and possibilities to be able to compare and thus test.
So you are saying that a good equipped computer with than of course a good power source, powercables, switches for the ethernet, etc etc. can be as a good as a dedicated streamer?
I think so too but it will be very difficult and it all must be dedicated than to sound streaming in that specific pc.
Then you build yourself a streamer in fact.
Cambridge Audio Azur 851N did you compare it with?
Your test?
What streamer did you compare it with as being best competition?
Greetings! 🙂
Do you have to have a balanced output for balanced wiring, I do believe so. My Chord Mojo doesn't work here I suppose?
A month!! that's a bit long. 😞
@@onnonugteren2935 yes you do, and yes Mojo (great in many other ways) doesn't unfortunately have balanced outs :(
But it will work just fine single ended with regular 3.5mm cable that's included with the headphones, and in time, when/if you'll go balanced with your setup, these will be even better!
And yes, month is a bit too long, it was happy accident that I had no time earlier. I got second pair and I will check how long exactly is needed.
And I will try to get some serious, good microphone and maybe try to record the difference between stock one and "aged" one :)
Thanks for taking the time to appreciate what these headphones are capable of, even if ,as you modestly put it, having such a long burn-in time was an "accident".
Can you tell me how is the isolation from external sounds when listening through these headphones?
@@k4syx Yes but for what, I happen to have a Chord Mojo to my laptop, but hardly anyone does and even how good is UA-cam? I think to demonstrate to us sonicly is hardly possible? But what helps is a list of your equipment what you use, it's not so much work: just make one list and copy/past? So many times it would be helpful with your excellent reviews. If they weren't excellent I would not ask it repeatedly now ten times! 🙂 ;-)
Your listening experience therefore is to us.
@@clarkejones8090 I'd say mediocre. They somewhat isolate, more than open planars, bit they don't have very big clamping force and the cups seem to be thin so "okayish" but not that great.
PLEASE UPDATE IF YOU MOD THEM!!!!!!
I will, absolutely!
Hi Again :-)
Oh yes after 6 full days of playing continuously and testing hearing etc I can really confirm that it’s a true story: it gets better and better after burning in.
I ordered a second one because I have a Chord Mojo that can play two headphones together for music and cinema :-)
I can soon test it even more better.
When it comes I can listen to a brand new one again and compare.
Greetings again. :-)
…. BUT one important advice is also don’t follow this guy to fanatic.
It’ll cost you a lot of time, effort and a bit of money because till now he’s always right! :-)
even thou you can not always follow him because of his terrible pronunciation. :-)
He tends to say the most important words swallowing and say it in his enthusiasm :-) in a microsecond. :-)
He improves already.
But I could already test some conclusions of him personally and these confirms his reviews: they are really great.
And no I don’t know him, ..well from here I do now. 🙂
Also my old 25 years plus Sennheiser HD 25 m2 (70 ohm) runs parallel and benefits at the same ! tempo of increase as this modern headphone from burning in time.
I hated it and hardly ever used it and becomes better and better now.
So how about your old headphones? Are they burned in dear readers? 🙂
@@onnonugteren2935 lol thank you! :)
@@k4syx That's what it is all about isn't it? 🙂 lol.
I heard these, only worth it if you need another r2r dac module and the price of these were lower priced than a seperate module.
But I have 4 modules already because I bought two extra pair of Deva pro when they went on sale, and I had a pair already and a pair of the original Deva. All of which sound a lot better than these.
Just my opinion ofcourse, but would like to have you hear a deva pro and compare
@@annebokma4637 I was thinking about Deva sometime ago, but I finally went for Ananda Nano and Arya Stealth. I'm using these only wired so R2R was no additional value for me. But I'm still curious about Deva, so maybe someday :)
@@k4syx I mainly use deva wireless. Though wired is really good as well. But wired I listen more on the beyerdynamic DT 700X PRO. mainly studio use. Am planning on getting a hedd2 next year and possibly a verum. Can't remember if you listened to those?
@@annebokma4637 No, I havent, I've only read about Hedds. I'm curious about them and how do they compare to my Stax SR-007Mk1 :)
@@k4syx electrostats, my speaker preference/addiction 🤨😎 have so many, going to go Dolby Atmos to justify keeping them
