I just purchased from FunKenya the Zero Zone TPA 3255 with the 2nd power supply option. There is an option to add the XLR and 2nd power supply on the sales page. I also ordered two LC5 opamps. I had a $60 coupon. So for both mono blocks and two power supplies and two LC5 opamps it was a little less than $500 with tax and shipping. Amazing….! Thank you very much for providing all of your knowledge and reviews.

I am thinking something.... can you please guess what diameter is the conductor inside the teflon tube that is suposed to be solid silver???? I am just thinking, how hard can it be to remove that wire and insert a solid silver wire in same diameter??! It is a tube, wire is loose inside sooo?!

I was thinking about your thoughts about making factories in China and the limitted production AQ has because of the limitted audiophiles there are. Maybe both are true. Yes they let China built these super expensive cables and maybe by selling through Aliexpress they make exyra money by selling more and still deliver the very rich with the idea of buying something verry exclusive. Just a thought because truth is mostly in the middle and sometimes hard to figure that good and bad sometimes work together.

Hi Tom, my problem: If I connect the ZD3 with a Amazon CUBE (HDMI OUT) directly together, in the Display stands only „none“. If I put the same cable into a other device I hear sound. What can this be?

Hello Tom. As I assume you've also got fake Dragon Power Cable as well, please advise which recommended length to choose with EU/Shuko mains plug. Secondly, I recently noticed on my D5Pro and D9Pro having their internal wiring on both channels' speaker outputs are phase converted which means I need to reverse the polarity of my speaker connection in order to get in phase. Kindly check your D5Pro unit. This happens to some power amplifiers including YBA. If you are using FM255 preamp, then there is a phase switch to overcome the issue. Cheers!

New update on the ZA3 monoblocks. If you have a preamp that is capable of high voltage output, take out ALL of the op amps. Thats right, you can run the ZA3 without ANY op amps in the signal. You get a completely different amp!!!! I am using the topping A70 pro as a preamp and it sounds incredible! Every bit of smearing is gone and bass is tight and hits HARD.

At least you are getting real silver wires that's the magic sauce solid core soft 999 fine silver. I diy my own only cost what 150$ or less. You can do it , it's easy just learn solder or drill holes in xlr pins twist hold then coat of hot glue / silicon to keep it oxygen free. IACS standard is never wrong, everything else is just he said you said. Stranded wires for newbies, solid core of very few plug and unplug set it forget it as even solid core cheap cat5 wires perform 90% of silver wires. When done 20 + years later, you can sell scrap silver wires back to jeweler that will at least 10x your investment as silver will be rare/expensive by that time. Hint tellurium copper /rare silver connectors for absolute best diy.

i have two of these in dual mono as well. they sound amazing. i can barely tell the difference between these and my Plinius 9200 which is $5000. when driving my tyler acoustics Linbrook signature tops and bottoms they were absolutely COLD to the touch after one hour of loud music. when driving my Audioengine 5 bookshelf monitors (wired for passive) they get a little warm. not sure.

I think the old Quad 303 will sound quite good with that pream.

Hi Tom - a very interesting review - thank you! I'm running two pairs of original AQ Earth 1m RCA cables with DBS and they are significantly better (transparent, detailed, musical, soundstage) than anything else I have tested. That's approximately twice the cost of these "fake" Dragon cables. It's quite tempting to get a pair and see how they compare. As you may remember, I'm running a Sengterbelle JC-2 preamp and a Transaudio D5 Pro. Power and speaker cables are my own making, based on AliExpress cable (but with geometry tweaks). The speaker cables I made outperform my Kimber "Crystal 24" in terms of transparency, extended treble and speed. I run them on 17cm home-made electromagnetically inert cable lifters. Well, I just received my "Clock" and 50 ohm cable. I plugged it into my LHY SW6 network switch, which has the LHY fiber optic FMC attached running out to my Volumio Rivo streamer. Yes, there was a noticeable difference, the voicing is better, there is more clarity without sibilance, the soundstage grew, along with better instrument separation. We are listening to Tony Bennett and KD Lang off of the "Wonderful World" album streaming from Qobuz through my Roon Nucleus One. I'm using the ToneWinner AD-1PRE+ DAC via USB, out to the Cary clone tube preamp to the Dartzeel clone D5Pro. Speakers are the Cabasse Murano bookshelves. If you have a piece of gear that you can attach a 10 mhz clock to, grab this one and save a few hundred dollars. The clock came with the antenna, the wall wart power supply which I will upgrade and the clock itself. I did use the antenna to grab a signal, which only took a few seconds, and I will leave it plugged in. This was a very worthwhile purchase! Thank you for making this video Tom! I had no clue a clock would make this much of an impact in my particular system.

I was going through some of my CD's yesterday, and I came across a rare 'gold disk' remaster of Janis Ian''s classic 'Between the Lines'. This was remastered by Kevin Gray (of Audio Fidelity). I have 3 different masterings of this CD, a high quality rip from my LP done on a Linn Sondek and a recent 24/192 remaster (using original master tapes) And it is this audiophile CD remaster that sounds the best by far. Reading its liner notes it says... "All analog cables to and from our console are Audioquest "Niagra DBS". We also use Audioquest AES/EBU digital and Audioquest NRG power cables" Too bad this superb CD has long been out of print and now trades hands for $100+ Point...not ALL recording and mastering studios use standard Canare or Mogami cables, especially the ones who are focused more on sound quality. Somewhere in my collection I have a disk that I believe that was recorded and mastered using Audioquest Diamond (all silver) cables-but I cannot remember which one-so I cannot easily look it up.

Thanks for the video! How is the channel balance when playing at low volumes? Reason I ask is that I have the same Alps potentiometer in my Bada DC-222T mk2 (DestinY branded from an EU-importer in Germany) integrated hybrid amp and the channel balance is quite bad at low volumes when using sensitive speakers. Otherwise a truly superb integrated amp the Bada (once you upgrade the stock cheapo chinese no-name tubes). Just wondering is there a VCA in this preamp and the actual audio signal doesn't even go thru the potentiometer? Really wish all of these clones would use the same resistor network potentiometer board from the Cary & Levinson clones.

How is the sound now after changing for Jantzen Standard, Jantzen bipolar and Jantzen air coli? Can you compare to something? Is it worth to buy them and upgrade in this price range?

All my RCA inter-connects are Maplin PRO cables, very well made and very reasonably priced!!!

There is an Audioholics vid testing the Audioquest Thunderbird Zero speaker cable that uses the same DBS pack. They found that with the DBS pack in circuit, even without the batteries, it was increasing the cables capacitance and adding distortion to their test signals. They do note that this distortion all takes place well outside the range of human audibility. Audioholics take is that, at least this cable, does the opposite to their published claims.

I justify buying "fake" cables because the "genuine" cables are extremely overpriced to the extent of being close to fraud.
