My grandfather was chief dispatcher for the Shenandoah Division of the N&W in the late 50s. He would be very proud to see the work you’ve done here. Thanks for sharing!
stunning, well done
WOW stunning
I don't know if this is a home layout, but this is history recreated and it belongs in a public museum, behind plexiglass, so that all can see. Such craftsmanship must be preserved for the long term, not lost, with an owner's death. An exhibit like this would be a good draw for an otherwise ho-hum local museum.
You have my dream layout
Amazing work
thanks
@dferg100 I am saving up for it, Hope to be getting it within the next few weeks!
Loved that coal train with the Class Y pusher! Very nice layout!
Did anyone else notice that the lead locomotive and the helper both carried the same number?
❤❤❤❤❤
Stunning engine weathering and sounds! 2 questions. What decoder did you use? Where did you get those water tenders? I have looked, EVERYWHERE, but can't find anywhere. Have a good day!
this is a old video, the decoder were QSI no longer available, the water tenders were Broadway Limited check Ebay
Awesome stuff man! Great video and awesome model railroad.
Hey, isn't that O.Winston Link´s 52 Buick Convertible in front of the crossing at 1:00? This photographer made fantastic pictures of the N&W in the 50s.
could be
thanks, the S1 is a proto 2000 with custom tender
@dferg100: You could paste a photo backdrop to the wall that would accomplish that same thing. I help on a model railroad that has photo backdrops & they are the way to go.
I'm impressed w/ how that backdrop interacts w/ that scene! From the aisle side, it looks like the the backdrop is a mile away from the shallow relief mountains. But, the camera over the layout looking unto the corner makes it look like 2 tall & narrow canyons are portruding thru the wall.
Is this your layout? Do you have a track plan by chance?
bellissimo!!!!
Astounding scenery, and the weathering on those locos and freight cars
is as real as it gets in railroad modeling..! ''Fantastic''
thanks
At first it looked like real life. Then I realized it was the layout
Chase Hudson Yes agreed, I think all the work put into this layout
and the weathering of the locomotives and freight cars, is 'exceptional'
and the way I would imagine this railroad would have looked and ran in
it's heyday!
This,is something I'm always happy to return to, as it's just great to watch
and enjoy over again!
Should be featured in model railroad magizine
Chase Hudson thanks
O Winston Link would have been proud to shoot your railroad. Presumptuous to say, I know. But it is the first thing that came to mind while watching this. Truly outstanding modeling.
Great looking scenery! Very nice...
Welp, looks like no details left to add to this railroad, lol! It's perfect, and incredible weathering on those monster steamers.
thanks alot
Nice going, it looks HUGE!
I meant the N&W number 267
Nice, must have given you a great sense of accomplishment not to mention hours and hours of fun building it. congrats
That Z1 is awesome and the S1 switcher! Must be brass.
Absolutely amazing layout. Very well done. I live in WV and enjoyed your vision of Appalachian railroading.
Awesome dude! nice run-by! Love the sounds and the scenery is top notch!
Beautifully modelled.
thanks
WOW!~ If I was not such a Slobbering Pennsy Freak I could fall head first for the N&W. The Y6b is my most wanted loco that is not made - yet- in S Scale.
Great video - a little moody - perhaps that was intentional. Great layout. It really gives the grit and taste of the N&W.
Nice weather on the locomotives well thought out scene very cool all around
Very life-like with the perfect amount of weathering on the cars. Love the 4-8-8-8-4s. Great video except for the abrupt ending. 👍
BEAUTIFUL DETAIL , awesome video !!!
wow fantasic weathering and great scenery
Put the n&w cargo movin people theme over this
BEST TRIBUTE IN HO TO 2156,1218,611 and the MIGHTY N&W RR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice layout! also fine weathering details!
Cool! Where'd you get that S? ...and a Z!
thanks, the S1 is a proto 2000 with custom tender, the Z is a bachmann with a brass N&W tender
@@dferg100 Those tenders really show off the engines. Especially love that S. I have a K (Spectrum?). Has the USRA tender and I want to swap it out with a tender from a Berkshire. But haven't wanted to spend the money for a perfectly good Berk! 😂 You've done great work!
how is the 2200 at the front and back...
I only own two engines had to use 2200 twice
This is absolutely stunning so realistic & just incredible Mate. I actually felt that I could step into the video it was just a completely amazing visually captivating video, well bloody done I am just wrapped with it.
Kind Regards, Steve.
absolutely beautiful! the weathering on the locos and cars is incredible too.
cheers
bryan
Great video as usually, Amazing lashups for sure!! Was this all shot with the Canon Vixia HF HG10? 5 stars!!
-Kodi
Great locos, realistic speed, but HO sound is such a joke. Sound doesn't really become decent until you get to O gauge...what some of the loco manufactures justify charging per loco considering the terribly tinny sound they produce is almost criminal.
@ohiosouthern thanks, this was the first video shot indoors with the G10
Love it man A and Ys where the king and still are
Awsume layout! i never get tired of watching All you're videos, but would love to see All of the layout in N & W of the Whole layout in one video.
thanks, it is HO about 18 feet by 20 feet
Wow! (someone already said that) but what a great layout. Nice camera work, I have the same cam, love it..... I use a remote mic sometimes..... the sound is wonderful, but no horn? I'll have to look at your other vids. I can't tell what gauge it is... looks huge!
Magnificent, beautiful sceneries
Nice Very Nice Lots Of Great Engines and Scenery Quality Job of Filming and Sound Thank You For Posting
Great model railroad, great video. :)
thanks
Awesome model railroad!
FANTASTIC!
thanks
I saw three Norfolk and western cabooses on a siding near a factory here in Louisville Kentucky they looked pretty worn out!
Yes I do own that video and a few more. It came to me after many videos and pictures.
thanks
this is quite realistic. It isn't overly weathered or dirtied either.
Have you ever thought about running the pusher backwards? N&W did do that sometimes.
Great video! Which version Titan decoders are those in the Y class? What sound effects?
Very nice layout and great video work. Do you remember what camera, F-stop and Lux level you used?
Couldn't help but notice that you had two models of Y6b number 2200 with the same road number, that was a bit confusing. Overall, fantastic video, and amazing layout!
+Armagon Armagon its the same engine, video editing Lol
Well, that settles it. Great video!
Fabulous layout! Incredible detail! One minor point: the Erie-Lackawanna gondola on the freight train is not correct for this period of time. The Erie and the Lackawanna did not merge until 1960, long after N&W steam was gone. That car should be Lackawanna or Erie, not Erie-Lackawanna. I don't mean to be too picky, but that jumped right out at me and wanted to mention it.
So this is what it's like to die & go to Valhalla . Wow,excellent sound !!!
@TrainDr101 I use a green screen to fill in the bare spots and add a picture while I edit the video
Top notch! cheers!
Well it's GREAT I love it. It looks like a club/museum layout ps: what are the top 3 paint colors by witch company(s) recommended by you?
Awsume layout!! Awsume weathering, & Detail!! Can we see the entire layout? also are all you're videos from the same layout just different trains, & areas? there's a definate familarity there.
Is this a museum layout or your personal layout?
You are the man!!!!
great, but no people in the cab
I believe I have found either the video you used to base your model, or I just stumbled upon a great find.
Search, "Norfolk & Western - Hauling coal"
At beginning of video the small locomotive where did you find it
its a Proto 2000 0-8-0 with a custom tender
Love the video man
What layout IS this ? Like to see the rest of it... Only poor thing is the obnoxious, too puffy, lichen covered hills. Pull em' apart a little. Add some grays and other flat green shades, some dark browns, yellows here and there. Some rock gray peeking through ...This would render it a perfect MRR instead of 99% perfect......!
Addendum to below. Sorry, there is allot of rock ... But just break up the lichen shapes.Too similar....The mine is exquisite !!
O-scale?
The Coal Train.
How many cars?
Why does everything look so artificial
no it is mine, thanks
HO-Scale
