Yes you can…. It’s not part of the list of visa categories that can’t switch to the skilled visa.

You get to have work experience which is an advantage for your CV. Some organizations give you stipends monthly, accommodation is sorted, you can bring your dependents who can work in any field and for unlimited number of hours, you can extend your visa and even switch to another Visa category that is permanent…. So what’s wrong with the visa?
