As new immigrants it's not about getting a job that you like, it's about survival, covering bills and trying to settle in. Many if us do jobs that we have never done back home. Once things pick up, you can become more selective about what you want and don't want to do. I believe that if a couple (where 1 is a student) are migrating, it is the duty of the non-student spouse to carry the bulk of the weight in terms of bringing in the funds. It is a temporary sacrifice that will benefit the family in the long run. There is no way a student who can only work 20 hours can cover the living expenses plus study and do assignments and exams, and it is unreasonable to expect them to do that. Some spouses work 2-3 jobs while the other studies and does their 20 hour job. Once the student spouse has completed studies and things improve then the one who was doing everything can drop all those jobs and just go to a part time job or find 1 job in their industry of choice. It's about teamwork.
Last year, I was working full time, budgeting groceries, unable to afford date nights, and missing time with my kids. Now I learned how to make money online. Now am a SAHM, homeschooling, and making profits every week.
Am looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you think I should be buying?
I hardly comment on people vlog but this is very interesting, I saw all these loop holes but who am I to advise, I hope others will listen to this vlog… peace n Love Koasi
When I relocated here, it was good, although the job aspect wasn’t that great from the beginning. I’m glad I was able to grab a couple and later filter out the stressful ones, and then I finally got something more convenient and less stressful. I thank God for the journey so far. I’m really grateful for my husband because he’s just been my backbone and a great support system. We are so in sink with our future goals and plans and so far, we’ve been doing things well. It all boils down to understanding and proper planning. Dear Kosi, I wish you and your hubby the very best, as you push through the stages. May you find all that you desire. Amen 🙏 cheers 🥂 sharing in your goodnews soon.
kosy I personally do not think you need to work. I feel you are too comfortable. whenever I want to watch your video. I can't find any new one. You have all it takes to make money as a content creator. All you have to do. Is to transfer your videos. To Facebook and make double money from one video. I have seen couples. making lots of money and buying houses from just Facebook videos alone So, please leave your comfort zone and be consistent.
I can see you guys are trying to keep pushing. I'm from a British overseas country called anguilla 🇦🇮 and also a British citizen, but I can tell it's difficult to get work in the UK 🇬🇧 especially with the difference accent and language barrier. Sometimes, it makes things harder .
My own opinion if you won't see it offensive is that Kosy you, didn't take advantage of the fact that as a Dependent you should have gone all out to support your guy with really working hard . Have seen a lot of Nigerians who are in the UK and made it as two, before the arrival of your baby.
I expected kosy as a dependent to go all out for job and possibly get a sponsorship while continue with her blogging because at the end what matters is getting a STAY BACK not how much you are making at the moment but thought they had plans 🤷♀️it’s well.
And other things I work in care in Canada it's not for everyone. Trust me, if you do have empathy and compassion, you will lose your mind if you're strong 😊
Doing care/support was almost the only jobs that could earn you a sponsorship and that was why we gree die.. I remember us screaming that time that you should keep working and stop complaining because it wasn’t easy for us that came with family…racism and hate is the order of the day here so we close our eyes to them because bills full ground….we paid 12k school fees with care jobs and cleared our debts back home… we will keep doing it until we get something better… a week without a job in the Uk for a family is dangerous.
I’m sure u’ve learnt a lot from those mistakes.. it’ll only get better from here. The ending part cracked me up .. lil kosy said Alright! I’ve had enough 😂😂❤
I always tell everyone asking me to take their clothes cos what the hell. Even at the moment I still shop from Nigeria cos our clothes are properly lined and thick for all weathers. once you pair it with a winter jacket.
Nah, that should only be a last resort. Language barrier should never be underestimated. The husband should apply for a 2 year post study visa which removes pressure for them. They will be fine. It is always tough in the beginning. However, it gets better with time.
Great man, He's so determine even when ask if he would advice others doing well in their home country to come abroad. SIA is good and not too stressful Job. With post study, you can be able to gather some amounts from there then keep applying for your professional job before the 2years elapse. With God all things arw possible 🙏
Kosy is looking so pretty Love hw transparent u guys were….it would all be fine jaree Jst keep hoping for the best lyk u said ❤️ Bby wanted to feature 😅
With your husby in Tech, Canada is a great place to look into and you can even come in as a permanent resident which is the best thing really. I don’t mind guiding you for free, if you don’t mind. With regards to the content creators, I kept screaming to people not to listen to these people and even made a video but those who have more followers easily misled the populace
Well done kosy may God grant all your heart desires. I believe your hubby should have applied for PGWP which will help extend the visa and in that process he can be scouting for sponsorship roles.. since he is into tech, tech is such a big deal now ooo that's where the money is😂😂
Best wishes guys. I remember watching you guys clothes shopping unboxing upon unboxing, I was like the Johnson’s are not playing . It is well with you. The lord will perfect it.
Kosy, you can be a very good interviewer. I wish you guys God's Grace, Peace, Providence and much Love. May you prosper without limitations. Your baby gal decided to be heard by fire by force..🤣🤣🥰👶🥰. God Bless..🙏🙏🌻💐
Finally someone shares the same opinion as me. You see this bringing food and leaving clothes behind? That is that one that pains me till this very moment…. #15,000 Jean will cost you over £50 in this country 😭😭😭
But the non student spouse should have gotten a care job to supplement your income and then a care sponsorship visa as your husband’s student visa was expiring so that you don’t have to worry about your visa expiring now and it would be easier for him to get a job. I don’t think care work is as stressful as factory work or cashier work. But then some people feel that care work is beneath them.
I really wish I had brought my clothes, wigs, and bags with me. During my time in Ghana, I owned high and expensive branded, bags, shoes, and clothing. I have given everything I have to my friends and family, and now that I'm here, I cannot afford some of them. I only purchase affordable clothes from places like Primark, Temu, and SHEIN. All this happened because I was listening to all this UA-cam bloggers. I only came with food.
I came with Food and only very few clothes. I can say it was the best decision ever. Never regretted it. If you are not fashion savvy, then bring food.

I didn't listen to anybody advice. I packed all my clothes especially JEANS it was excess luggage that made me drop some of them cos I didn't have money to pay for it 😂😂😂😂
I don’t understand why Kosy is not working or rather did not work before she got pregnant. How do you survive with just a student’s pay in this country with all these bills?
Maybe they are rich or come from a rich family. If they are not wealthy then that wasn't a good decision from her. I mean why won't a dependant work and support her husband? Well, to each his own.
You guys will definitely get jobs. Ignore the unfortunately, readjust your cv and reapply. Get your post study and hope some organisations sponsor. Have you tried technation visa or business?
Kissy you didn't play your card well regardless of everything your hubby feels it. You should have joined the care path which was to give you a cos, UA-cam took your time. But there's nothing God cannot do pls help him as a dependant sacrifice the 5 years till you get your ILR pls then you will have all the time for social media it's an opportunity people back home are looking for it's hard but there's light at the end of every tunnel.
