Rusty, you are one of the best teachers on UA-cam. Your playing vs talking and the length of your videos are just spot-on! Thanks and all the best from Belgium! 👍🏻
This was great fun Rusty, thankyou! I was trying work out the Key and then realised with the chords being played that its in Emin and its parallel Emajor Key!
When did Jimi Hendrix played the chords in this piece he used major sounding rhythm accents. But on the E chord turnaround he played mostly E minor pentatonic. There’s a lot of variables in the theory of this one. but Jimi Hendrix did not look at the guitar in intervals and modes. He played chords that sounded good together, and use mostly pentatonic-based solos. It’s a fun way to play. Thanks for checking out the video. Catch you later.👍
For some reason Rusty, the way you show and explain things particularly Hendrix style playing, seems to sink in through my thick skull more than anyone else can. Anytime I see you are doing a Hendrix lesson, I have to grab a guitar or save until I can. Awesome. Thanks Rusty.
Great lesson Rusty ............love Hendrix...........his bass player Noel Redding lived in Ireland for years after he died............Paul from Ireland

I love this Rusty. Watched the first part but have to go back to work, definitely grabbing my guitar and watching this properly later. Thanks man. ✌️ ☮️
Finally got around to putting the time in with this. I've been able to play Hey Joe for a while, but some of the chord embellishments have always been beyond me. The pull offs and hammer ons that Jimi did are mind blowing and something I just can't seem to get to sound musical. This is such a great way of doing it, sliding down adds just that little bit of spice I needed. And those triad shapes are invaluable. Really brings some beautiful variation to the melody. Thanks so much Rusty, really appreciate it. 🙏
Glad you like the lesson Robert. I can break down some of those intervals in some upcoming videos, but the minor, third of a triad will make it a minor chord And the flat five most of the time would be used as a blue note in a scale. Thanks and have a great weekend 👍
That was so helpful! Thank you very much for having me start with hendrix style playing. Always thought it was too hard for me. Now i know where to start and I'm having fun learning!
Thanks very much Rusty showing this. Jimmy revolutionised a way to play the electric guitar a pure legend. Those cord shapes I must learn. If you can show a simple method how to adapt to those shapes that would open up a whole new world for me.👍🎸
Yes, he certainly did Nigel! I use these movements in my playing all the time. I will definitely expand on these ideas but you can use these movements. Anytime you play a major chord. For a minor chord it’s a little different. Try it over any major sounding backing track. Happy jamming and talk to you soon👍
Again another great lesson, thank you. As usual most of this lesson is far above my skill and theory level and yet I learned from it. The way you teach and explain makes the content clear to me. BEST AND PEACE
