They definitely show lots of love to each other
Hi
Starting to suspect that "hugging" is an euphemism here... 💞😁
I will never think of the word "hugging" in the same way again. lol
When they say acts of "tension relieving," they mean that bonobos have sex (lots of sex). It is their method to weed out aggression in their species.
I can see how Bonobos have the tagline of “make love not war”, as there was quite a bit of “relieving tension” 😉😂♥️
Lol
funniest one so far !! laughed out load everytime they "hugged" and the camera man panned rigth ... facts of life cannot be denied
I cracked up too but with all that camera movement I was getting motion sickness. lol
Esther Muller Good thing zoos put them on birth control.
🔴🟠🟢😋
I start out by using my opposable thumbs to write a comment 😂 This was a fun east egg hunt, thank you primate hippies, keepers and curator! 😊🐒🐣
Looks to me they were doing more than hugging
Strategic camera work lol 😂😂👏
wendy drennan trying to keep it G or PG lol
Wendy Drennan i caught th hat too. Oh lets direct the camera here..lol
I have never heard of bonobos before!!! I really enjoyed them!!! It was really neat to see them get so excited. Really enjoyed this safari
Very excited and hyper!
Man these videos are so amazing
Heyyy
Love these videos💞💞
Great video...very interesting too.. Thanks so much!
OH MY THE BEGINEING 3:10
No need to hide their true loving nature.💓🤗
"hug"
Amazing animals
Bonobos also are one of the apes that are the closest to humans on a genetic level, and they are the probably the closest relatives to us on a physiological/anatomical level because their bodies are structured more closely to humans than chimpanzees are.
4 to 5 years between having babies when they hug that much? Crazy
They breastfeed for about 4 years, and as in humans, they don't become fertile again during this time. Add in an 8 month pregnancy, and they'll have a max of one baby every 4-5 years no matter how much "hugging" they do.
@@callunas I just have to add that breastfeeding does not stop a woman from being able to get pregnant. There are a lot of parents to more than one child because they believed this myth.
@@charmedlife1990 It does, actually. It's a scientifically proven hormonal mechanism. If it didn't work, the species wouldn't survive because mothers would get pregnant again while their babies were still milk-dependent. Of course, this only works for a limited time. Once you start introducing solid foods and water, the baby nurses less, and fertility is more likely to return. In modern times when formula is often introduced to supplement breastmilk or relieve the mother from breastfeeding early, eg in women who must return to work after giving birth, it is also less effective.
I wonder how many parents had to have the talk with their children after watching this!
this is the best cchannle
hello myself :33

Are our close relatives like bonobos and chimps at risk of infection of covid 19 from human contact?
defo..... the mountain gorillas have been closed off in Africa due to CV19
emperormiester ya! Nobody cared about gorillas anymore!
Cares. And plus, gorillas are the first animals (the first animals I’ve known of, anyways) that can get diseases
And by the way, have anybody here heard that about 8 big cats at Bronx we’re tested for COVID-19?
Has
That’s a subspecies of Chimpanzee. I’ve heard about those Congo locals. Not to mention I read about them in 1 or 2 books & saw in a Documentary or 2. I never thought they would be seen in captivity.
I find bonobos fascinating. Thanks for featuring them. But I wish the camera work had been steadier. A bit difficult to watch. 🙁
I know. I was getting motion sickness from all the movement.
do they have their own speceis?
THANK YOU For the Home Safari!! It's awesome! I ADORE BONOBOS, When I hear them joyfully squeaking it warms my heart. They are so precious! *unlike Chimps, which are vile.
Look it's my ancestors
@ 3:10 so what are you teaching them Ron?
I mean if we came to the zoo we would see it,so it's natural and I love they don't fight alot like chimpanzees can.😁👍
THE BONOBO BRAIN: 'When in doubt, hump your nearest Bonobo ...'
D.A.
ps: Now I know why Tarzan didn't swing with Bonobos ... as he'd spend most of the day fending off an amorous 'Cheetah.'
I always thought bonobo were more violent than chimps.
Nice introduction, but disappointing video... A shame because Cincinnati has a great zoo. It's the filming that ruins it. Whoever did the filming really needs something with image stabilization.
I know lol wth was he doing to make the camera shake so much? 🤔
Virgil name reminds me of the movie project X
I wonder what kind of "toys" y'all give these guys for "enrichment" LOL
bonobo family values @3:10
3:11 Just like National Geographic.
they sond like monikys
First
Thank you Joe Rogan.
Idk
First?
I came for gorilla shooting festival
Okay, Stephanie, just say "they have sex." It is natural, normal, and should not be hidden or treated as if it is nasty or evil or embarrassing. Your squeamishness is kind of silly. If you are going to educate, then educate.
And can you please get a post or tripod for your camera so you can pivot or pan without it being too jumpy to watch comfortably?
@Banjo boy well in reality, it's real life, can't hide sex from animal kingdom, it's constant and it always happens without warning, humans need to learn that we also have reproductive systems and they are used exactly for sexual behavior, no wonder or society is messed up, because the way we view sex.
I don't see how you can exhibit these things, they make me nauseous.
You make us nauseous with your pearl clutching. At least they release their tension by getting down to pleasure instead of warring, like chimps do.
@@SrslyAnnoyed "Pearl clutching" appears to be a word developed by the "sex positive" movement that suggests I'm not allowed to have my own brain and feel uncomfortable by rampant sexual displays or express it in any way. Kiss my ass.
@Jayne Eyre Offended for a brainless animal? Is it because they remind you so much of yourself?
Melissa Smith good grief grow up.
@@naturegirl9680 Good grief, mind your damn business.
