I feel bad for these humans like they were only fighting to protect each other their families, cause the colonel was killing them for being affected, they were celebrating because they knew he was gone and they were all safe and then they all died an unfortunate death.

So they probably brought a lot of manpower because of intelligence suggesting powerful anti air and heavy weaponry.
After all that to think the only thing the attacking humans needed to do was to wait it out or shoot a rocket/missile/artillery shell at the mountain in stead of joining in the battle and have huge casualties.
After seeing 2 Abrams among that amount of troops. This is just dumb. Few M908 HE-OR-T traveling at 1400m/s from Abrams can blow those barricades to pieces. No need for human wave at all.
