I just want to say thank you, Angie, for this video. You are always honest, funny, and down to earth. Since going through menopause, my hair is shedding at a rapid rate, especially at the temples, crown, and now the top. I know it's 'just hair' and I am lucky it isn't something far more dire, but it's still hard to lose that part of me. I very much appreciate you tackling this topic for those of us who need it. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos for us.
Hi Angie! This video intrigued me because I wear a halo hair extension often. For putting it on, I recommend sectioning off the hair first and clipping it up, then placing the halo over the sectioned off part so that your natural hair can then just fall on top of the halo you don’t have to do as much pulling out to cover it once it’s on. It also appeared that you had yours a bit too far back. Although it still looks great on you! The itching is a total surprise to me- I’ve never experienced that. Like someone else suggested, I think a good washing and conditioning of the halo might be a good idea. That also helps it to look more like your natural hair.i will say that it did take me a couple times wearing it before I got used to the weight of it though. The halo i use is one of the pricier ones, but it’s nice and thick. It also comes with really strong clips for anyone that would rather attach it that way. It’s honesty been a lifesaver for me as my hair is getting thinner and thinner as I get older. The halo gives me much more confidence. 😃
Hey Angie! I have a halo hair extension from Amazon that I love! The difference between mine and yours is that it’s lined with a soft lace on the inside top of the extension where the edge of the hair touches my scalp-no itching at all!!! It’s from Youngsee. I also ordered extra wires so if it breaks you have a backup wire-which did happen to me. You can adjust the length of the wire with this extension. Mine was an 80gram weight which is a little thick. If you don’t have thinning hair and just want more length, 40 grams is fine. The cost was $60.
Hey Angie, I’m a weave, braid, u-part, clip-ins, half wig devotee; you may have to shampoo/condition it before wearing. Anytime I order hair (human or synthetic) I wash/condition it first. Sometimes there’s a build-up from processing that can be itchy. Just a suggestion. Love your content. ❤️
Hi Tu Cao, I wear many brands, but keep in mind I have a more textured coarse kinky curl to my hair. I’ve worn the Halo brand a few years ago (when I had a relaxer to get a straighter texture) and they worked pretty well, but I change up often. Some of brands I’ve worn include: Flawless, Sunny, LuvMe, Divine, Bella. I sometimes purchase the hair from the vendor and customize my own halo string, clip-ins, or u-part. While the color, texture, style may all be different, the thing they all have in common is a good shampoo/conditioning before wearing. Also, I give my own hair a break in between styles. So I may wear a particular halo to a special event only, but wear my long clip-ins 9-5, and on the weekend just a clip on ponytail. Hope that helps....❤️
Hidden Crown halos were my saving grace. I always have had a lot of long hair, in great condition. I went through extreme stress (in a very short time husband of 23 yrs died in a horrific way, my finding him, mom died of cancer, best friend died of a heart attack, serious ovarian cancer scare resulting in full hysterectomy, all with 5 grieving kids to try to get through all this and moving from only home they knew). My hair began breaking at my neck and falling out in clumps out of my scalp. It was just more devastation. I lost 3/4 my hair. If I wasn't enough of a mess, I couldn't leave the house with how bad it was. I found Hidden Crown and could at least get by with my hair looking how my hair always used to.
Generally I am not super sensitive or allergic to stuff, but I remember when I got mine a couple of years ago, after taking it out of its box, almost immediately my hands and forearms and every part of my skin that came in contact with it started itching and broke out in mild hives. I then learned there is this silicony layer on the hair that needs to be shampoo out before handling it. It looks awesome on you Angie. 👍👍👍
I have tried Halo and similar halo-type extensions; but, the best find I came across was Revlon Fabulength Extensions. I got 2 extensions in the box (so can go fuller if I want). They don’t have the thick ‘weft’ (I think that’s the term). They are not itchy. It’s not human hair; but, even the hairdressers were fooled when I told them I was wearing extensions - I went in to have them trimmed to the length I wanted. They all went out and bought some. I only paid about $30 for the two! They’re great, and look VERY natural.
Hi Angie. I think they looked very natural on you and you looked great! I used to wear the Halo extension though and the plastic string on the top ended up breaking off my hair on the top and my real hair started to look terrible. I loved how it looked but I ended up not being able to wear them. Darn!!! Love you by the way! 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Love this idea, more please! I'm shocked at how nice the cheap hair looked when mixed with your hair. I vote yes to you purchasing the Halo. Thank you!
My hair is very thin because of Covid. I had long Covid. I’m going to purchase one today. I put it off for a long time but after seeing this, I feel encouraged. Thank you.
I started to wear a hair topper in September and I love it! I bought it for my daughters wedding but now I wear it everyday. I even got another one. It adds fullness and blends with my real hair. No one ever notices, even my own daughter. Having thicker hair makes me feel and look younger I think. I wish I could post a pic but I can’t figure out how. Thanks Angie for trying new things and sharing your honest opinions with us! ❤️
I would love to try a topper since my volume loss is more on the top vs length. You are my guru for all the things and my personal fashion stylist, lol! You are my favorite UA-cam channel! Thank you for making my life easier and happier!
I have a halo hairpiece that came with extra clip ins. I have had hair loss from medicines, illness and surgery and the hair pieces just make me feel better. I also experienced itching when wearing any kind of hair extensions (synthetic or real) but the trade off in how it made me look and feel was worth it. It looked good on you too.
I think you have one of the most realistic reviews on you tube. I appreciate you’re close up camera shots when you try product especially foundation. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you show us!
I've used the clip in bangs to try them out before cutting my hair into bangs. I loved them...actually liked how they look( always perfect) as compared to my own! Hahaha
This looked so nice on you. I hope the suggestion to wash and condition alleviate the itching so you can get more use out of your purchase. My scalp is very sensitive and all kinds of styling aids make me itch or worse, ache. Were talking combs, clips, barettes, pins and extensions. You may be like me. But, I must admit I did not wash my extensions before I wore them, so now thanks to your subscribers, I'll give that a go. I learned a lot from all the comments your video generated.
My daughter and I both got these eight years ago in San Diego, where they sold them when they first started out near their headquarters in Temecula. I absolutely LOOOOOOVE them! So fast and easy with a rat tail comb and they are in! My daughter got several lengths, I'm still using my originals! Get them! !! Ours were several hundred dollars at the time, not sure what they cost nowadays.
I was so curious about the HALO hair extensions until I saw the price. Thank you so much for showing us a more affordable option. I appreciate all that you share!
I love that you still have both your parents! I've started taking a supplement with 500mg solubized keratin, and my eyebrows are coming back! Hard to say whether my hair is shedding less- I think so!
@@sheilab1283 Sheila, you're looking for 500mg daily CNS, solubilized keratin. I've been using the one from Life Extensions for about a month; it adds Silica, claiming it's good for bones. It's like Retin-A, in that studies show results months in, not overnight. So, I was really pleased to see the tails of my eyebrows filling in already!
It looked so great!! You can hand sew a narrow ribbon of velvet around the area that was itchy...just tack it on to start and see if it helps...then if it does you can hand sew it on. I thought it looked really good!
Glad i found your channel. Im turning 44 this year. Ive never been one to wear make up or do my hair. But i really like your look and i might dabble now that my normal baby face is starting to mature.
Yes please show some more hair additions. I’m 71 with long hair and I plan to keep it that way however it has been thinning out and I guess that it’s due to age. I do take plenty of supplements which I feel helps my body. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! I’m really impressed. I think it looks beautiful on you! But I agree...the itching would drive me nuts, lol!! Thanks for the review. Would love to see you try the topper because that’s where my hair has gotten a bit thinner!!
Wow. What a beautiful look that gave you. I love the look. My friend sections off her hair where the halo will go ,pull her hair up them puts the halo on and combs. Thank you very much for showing us affordable products . All of us cannot buy all high end products or Chanel or Hermès like some influencers show. I so greatly appreciate you!❤️
I thought the thing looked awful in the beginning but awesome after you put it on. Another example of why it’s good to hold off judgement until we know more. I love that you’re courageous enough to not only try but share new things like this with us. Who would’ve expected the itchiness?!? I think you’re partly so successful with your channel BC we all can see you as our girlfriend!
I’ve been wanting to try one of these for a few years, but same as you didn’t want to spend a lot of money if I didn’t like it or couldn’t get a good color match. TY, this is so encouraging!
It looks good and blended when curled for the $$. I would be interested in seeing more options, like the Halo. Thanks and have a great day with no itching. xo
Hey Angie, I just received mine from another brand. The demos I’ve seen show putting a section of hair up before you put on your hair. The only hair you need to pull out is the hair around the string. On top and sides.
I would add a touch of matte eyeshadow on the little "fishing line" that's exposed at the part line, taking that shine down would make it undetectable! Sorry you found it uncomfortable, maybe just use it for pictures since you already have it. You could also try adding some hot glue along the weft line that you found so itchy - maybe that would relieve the sensation!
It looked good but the itching isn’t great. I would wash & condition it to see if that fixed the itching. Off the subject but I have learned to sleep on my back! I haven’t seen any miracles yet, but it is a challenge and I am thrilled to finally got there as it isn’t easy. You are always a good sport Angie and we thank you for all you do for us. Thanks 😊
I have that same top! Love it! I’ve always been a little bit leery about hair extensions. I don’t think it’s my thing. But I like that you’re trying it, and I know that a lot of people like them.
I think it looks AWESOME! You can't tell that it is not your real hair. Saw lots of comments about washing it and I'm curious to see if the itching stops after you wash.
Hi Angie, I started out with one of the Halos, and I loved it but I wanted to be able to put it up and it wouldn't work using the Halo so now I have tape-in extensions. I have very fine and hair that's more on the thin side, so I use them for fullness. Your hair looks so thick with the Halo. Another suggestion on putting in the Halo that I've seen other bloggers do is to section off the top part of your hair and put it in a clip and then pu in the halo and let your hair down over it. You do get used to the itchiness of it so that it's not such a big deal after a while. Also, mine was the real Halo one and the hair looks nicer with the real Halos.
I would definitely be interested in seeing you try and review the actual Halo volumizer as well as a topper. My friends and I love your channel. So helpful. Thanks!
Hi...I have never commented before but I thought I would today...It does look very nice on you but actually, I prefer your own hair. I enjoy your makeup tutorials and I have purchased some of the products you liked and I was very pleased. I also like your clothing tutorials you show great versatility with your choices and it gives me ideas when I am shopping for myself. I just wanted to say "Thank You".
Hi Angie: I bought this on amazon as well.. You’re not the only one who experienced extreme itching. Haven’t tried to curl it yet either, looked a nit fake and a little too long.
Great Job, looks great on you...I need one because I lost so much from extreme stress and from having Thyroid disease. My last hair fall was 10 years ago? I had very long hair almost to my waist, not anymore...I have the hair cut layered on the top and not one hair fell out just my long hair? My hair is weird...So I can wear a halo and just blend with my now thinner hair until it gets better and goes back into remission...Thanks for your posting:)
I have one of those halo pieces in synthetic hair, and I have no problem with it itching. May I make a suggestion? I sew one wig clip-with the tiny teeth facing down-on each side of the halo, at each edge of the wire. Keep the clips snapped shut until you pull your own hair through. Then, simply open each clip, secure to your hair, and snap shut. The halo piece feels much more secure that way!
Thank you for showing that. I recently cut my hair shorter to get it healthy but I miss long hair so much. I was thinking about extensions but I think it’s a little too much work for me. Love watching your tutorials!
So interesting. As my hair continues to thin due to peri-menopause and some other health issues, I'm getting more and more interested in hair pieces. I wouldn't be able to stand the itching either! It sure looked nice though!
Im a Holo Couture rep and I think they are the best! 💕 quality is amazing. The wire shouldn’t be that stretchy. With a Halo Couture the wire is virtually invisible.. the weft is comfortable lace. The quality of human hair is awesome, Remi hair. It shouldn’t itch. Be sure to not go above 360 degrees on your curling iron. 😀💕
I'm curious to see a hair topper to help hide thinning around the hairline. I tried a full wig and it was a nightmare! 🙈 LOL This looked really pretty on you though and blended beautifully.
I have been wearing extensions (bonded) and clip in toppers for 15 years to cover my hair loss. I recently purchased a topper from Uniwigs and it is a game changer.
They are very good for people who’s hair isn’t strong enough for extensions I’ve used them for years but they don’t last long when you wash them the hair eventually tangles and the elastic has snapped on two of them after a while but I still recommend them
I use to have tape in extensions after a bad hair cut lol. It was sooo expensive and very high maintenance to maintain and return to reapply higher as my hair grew out. I like the thought of this. I think I'm going to look into! Thank you so much!! 🥰
Angie, this halo looks AMAZING on you. I absolutely love it! LOVE. So beautiful. Try giving it a wash and dry and give us an update! Let us know if it takes the itchiness away!
Hello Angie. The hairpiece added so much volume and looked 100% natural. It made the most impact in the back! Loved the lighter color blended in with your hair. I hope that you can resolve the itching by the tips about apple cider vinegar rinse. I occasionally use apple cider vinegar on my hair and it is the best clarifier ever!
Yup...stopped all the time sucking processes, cut my hair shorter for faster prep and am soooo much happier. Also, am I the ONLY person in the world that doesn’t like the “ beach wave” look? To me it just looks unfinished and sloppy. Maybe it will die in a few more years.
Becka Bronstad , oh yes, I agree. Life’s too short to tolerate discomfort in the name of beauty. No more dry matte lipsticks, coloring my gray hair, or wearing high heels for me. 😁
@@lesd1923 HATE this look!!!!!! I have thought from the beginning, 10 years at least, now? that I hated the look. I could do that look, if my bald spots on top were teased over, but I have never ever wanted it !!! WHY/HOW WHY did it become so popular??? Think you have to have some kind of flat iron or wand to wrap curl round hair, but WHY??? I go through MUCH longer process just to go out around my grown children becuase THEY are the ONLY people I get dressed up for, or look my best for, even during the day time. But they are My World, so they are all who matters to me. And I want them to think I am an elegant lady, which I like to think I am. I just don't go out unless I can be with children and grandchildren, or doc appointments, or few errands to Sephora ONLY when I can't order product (s) online. But when I am home alone, (divorced for over 25 years since I can't fall in love with any other man), I am plagued with chronic lower back pain and horrific Arthritis in hip. So even just getting ready, the day BEFORE I go out anywhere, I do as much as I can to get ready so I won't be so exhausted the following day with the children, errands, docs. I'm telling you all this I have no idea, just that your comment made me laugh out loud, of which I do not do often!!! And I am so there with you! But if I could wear hair short, it would be REal short and very exotic!!! So, thank you for making me LAUGH!
Thanks for doing the video by trying with us. I too have always had thin hair but a lot of it. If washing helps or even the Halo brand can look close to as great as it did with yours I will be 💃🏻
My former boss wore one of these. I didn't know what it was at the time, but her hair suddenly long and curly. Pretty interesting. Thanks for the demo.
Looks very nice but I couldn’t deal with the itchy feeling. I’ve worn hair pieces before and it’s distracting if you feel it too much👍😊This was very informative 🌟
I really thought it was pretty!!! If you do the rinse and it still is itchy I wonder if it is the little hairs on the band, I would sew a strip on something on it.
Would it be easier if the hair was parted first (kinda like in a halo ponytail) then drop the hair piece in place and then drop your hair on top of it and fix and pick it in-place so it would look natural?..I love how it made your hair look so full!!
I never would have known that wasn’t your hair. I bought the halo couture brand from my salon. I absolutely love it. I honestly forget it’s on. Yes it’s about a 400 investment but I have thin hair so it’s been more than worth it. 😍
I’d like to see the genuine halo too. For the itching, maybe try: pulling your hair up into a partial ponytail before putting it on, but pulling out less so you leave hair for it to rest on, not skin, and flipping it over so the stitching is on the outside? Especially where you’re curling it anyway. Thanks for your great reviews!

I think you’re partly so successful with your channel BC we all can see you as our girlfriend!
I think it looks great! I agree with Kat H with the washing but you could also sew a thin lace ribbon to the seam where it itches.
Girl, you're so funny! That's the difference between a $35 and $200 hair piece - Quality. You already know this.
I, too, would be interested in a topper. My hair is thinning on the crown. Thank you for doing this for us!! Love your channel!
It matched your hair perfectly and looked GREAT!
Thanks and have a great day with no itching. xo
Been using these for 11 years they are fantastic for certain hair types and length.
So the line across the top doesn’t thin your hair? That is what I’m concerned about.
Great tip!
Alex thank-you fantastic idea:)
Genius.
Thanks 😊
I’ve been Halo hair extensions curious forever 🧐 Glad “we” got to try it today 🥰 It looks great ... minus the itching 🤨 As always, thank you 😘
I just bought the same brand different color, thank u for a great instruction video! I definitely will be back
I have that same top!
So helpful. Thanks!
Try the halo! Apparently, Risa loves it. This one looked great, but ugh, that itchiness!
Hi...I have never commented before but I thought I would today...It does look very nice on you but actually, I
prefer your own hair. I enjoy your makeup tutorials and I have purchased some of the products you liked and I was very pleased. I also like your clothing tutorials you show great versatility with your choices and it gives me ideas when I am shopping for myself. I just wanted to say "Thank You".
Loved it! I have thin hair like you and will try this! Love I could take it off quickly at the end of the day.
great hair! it totaly looks natural and was not expecting that!
Hi Angie: I bought this on amazon as well.. You’re not the only one who experienced extreme itching. Haven’t tried to curl it yet either, looked a nit fake and a little too long.
It looks great on you! So natural. Thank you for sharing
Looks very real. I have short fine, thin hair and have been looking for some sort of hairpiece. Any suggestions for us short hair gals?
Graceful Beauty Yes! I bought a hair topper off Amazon and wear it when my roots grow out. I love mine and plan to buy more.
@@Jax-od4tp Can you give us the link to find the topper you are talking about? I love mine but can't afford much so I'm curious :)
@ Denise D I purchased mine in May 2019 for $44.90. It looks like it’s not available right now. The seller name was sexy baby. 😂
@@Jax-od4tp Thank you for letting me know. Angie has such nice subscribers and you are surely one. Great group of people :)
I have been wearing extensions (bonded) and clip in toppers for 15 years to cover my hair loss. I recently purchased a topper from Uniwigs and it is a game changer.
They are very good for people who’s hair isn’t strong enough for extensions I’ve used them for years but they don’t last long when you wash them the hair eventually tangles and the elastic has snapped on two of them after a while but I still recommend them
LOOKS GREAT!! It looks longer and thicker and REAL!
I use to have tape in extensions after a bad hair cut lol. It was sooo expensive and very high maintenance to maintain and return to reapply higher as my hair grew out. I like the thought of this. I think I'm going to look into! Thank you so much!! 🥰
I have the Hot Heads Bangover. A game changer if your hair is thinning in the temples. Hair stylist had to order and customize but it’s amazing.😊
Your channel is far above excellence. This is professional and fun. Thank you!
I think it looks great. I love the added length too. You’ve inspired me to get one and try it.
It looks pretty good, like natural hair!!
The “The real deal” is very comfortable. They do suggest teasing the crown of your hair which I am in to! It just completes the look! Try it!
Angie, this halo looks AMAZING on you. I absolutely love it! LOVE. So beautiful. Try giving it a wash and dry and give us an update! Let us know if it takes the itchiness away!
I bought a Madison braids braided headband. I love it. It blends with my hair nicely and gives me a fun option for my shorter hair!
Ha! As I've gotten older I've become far less tolerant of anything less than comfortable! Gone are the days of suffering for beauty! 😂
Totally agree with you, I don't even wear makeup any more
Yup...stopped all the time sucking processes, cut my hair shorter for faster prep and am soooo much happier.
My hair is a neck length bronde mix and is healthy and thick. Im just going to grow out my own tresses!
Wow, great colour match and it looked great, but yeah I could *feel* your itchiness!
It looks great! Love how you figure this out on camera just like we would. Thanks for this
I never would have known that wasn’t your hair. I bought the halo couture brand from my salon. I absolutely love it. I honestly forget it’s on. Yes it’s about a 400 investment but I have thin hair so it’s been more than worth it. 😍
Looks fabulous. I bought one months ago,but have not tried it yet. Inspired to pull it out!
Wish you had the halo to see if it itches as well. Looks great!
I spent sometime going through some of your old videos and I loved them they are still so relevant
Thanks for making me aware of this product. I tried your make up instruction for Facetime and it worked out awesome.
