    Thank you so much for explaining in detail what is happening in our body so we can act accordingly...most doctors unfortunately are treating symptoms using medication and they very rarely inscribe physiotherapy.I was diagnosed with MS and up till I watched your videos was struggling on my own to improve my walking.

    Hi Dr. Tobias, I've been working just about a year now with my Sister who had a stoke some 10 years ago. She is 78 years of age, and fell into the system when her insurance decided she wasn't advancing any so they stopped her therapy after the 18 months. I want to tell you just in the last year that I've been watching your videos, she has improved quite a bit. Your video on getting out of bed, where you state is the hardest way yet the best way, she is now able to do it.. she sits up better, I exercise her 3 days a week and some days she seems very strong, but my question is why are there some days she has no strength, she falls to one side and she doesn't seem to be strong enough to stand...please help me understand..thank you, your the reason she has improved so much. You've been a blessing to me and her...

    My low back gets tight when walking around wal mart. I have to use a buggy even if I don’t need it. Sometimes even shaving or washing the dishes. Bam low back super tight. Sucks.

    I think that it helps to put on and take off shoes and socks while standing, and when we absorb that, pants as well. With. daily walking I MUST stretch my ankle on the curb between the sidewalk and the road. Have a nice week.

    İam hemiplegic ,even sitting morethan ten minutes , hurts my low back but lying suddenly cures my pain temporarily

      did you figure what it was. laying down makes me feel better but once I'm sitting up and walking.. boom intense pain

    I had back surgery 20 years ago and my problem is a "locked" knee on that weak leg! Walking ten minutes creates sore knees and ankles...am waiting the arrival of a Finn rocker shoe....(My left leg is also hampered by a great toe that doesn't push off....) Sigh! UPDATE: just tried the 2 minute ankle strech on the incline board rather than the prescribed 30 second ...Wow, Feels great! Now onto crouch walking!

      @@rehabhqofficial You've helped me a lot already. I have a good therapist who has finally got my weak side hip muscles firing so that I no longer throw the leg out to compensate for the bad toe. But, because of nerve damage, the knee gets "stiff" and we are working on that...OUCH as she manipulates the leg. I do have spasms sometimes so I think the crouchwalking is something new to do. I just tried it and then found my knee seems to work more normally. Not sure how long to do it or how often! (I had foot drop before surgery, so this has been such a long journey and I"m SO close after 50+ years of bad walking which started with a bunionectomy at age 17 with no therapy and both feet done 20 years later and no therapy! Orthotist has me trying lifts which has helped and the PT discussed rockers and I found the Finn and after a long discussion with them, my first pair should arrive next week. Fingers crossed! I can walk straight now for 10 minutes, but feel it in the left leg/ankle...maybe with the final "push" that will be better! THANKS for all you do!

    Hi doctor. Can you speak about spasticity in people with cerebral palsy. My son is 22 years old and his spasticity episodes are strong and painful. They come in his both arms and his nick turns to left side, he also grinding on his teeth. Thanks in advance.

    Dr what about when I stand alot and do chores and walk and wash dishes. I'll get strong left lower side pain but sometimes it just radiates upper middle and it feels like I'm gonna give out if I don't sit down. ..only laying down helps me but once I'm up again it'll start getting so tense feels like a rubber band gonna snap. it happened after having covid 19.

    I suffered a left- sided Thalamic stroke in the hospital 3 hrs after ACDF in Jan 2021. It affected R. Jaw down to my toes Started out with a walker for P.T prescribed by the Orthopedic Surgeon not the Neurologist, to learn how to walk again. 6 months into P. T. I Got dropped from insurance for no improvement. P.T. focused on the neck more then the the stroke. March 2022 tried aqua therapy, same there, no improvement, dropped again 8 wks later. My main issue is not effort, it's pain afterwards, after exercise or walking down my street 200 ft. or so, i have to turn around and head back, same as it is with the R. arm. The muscles tighten up and hurt so bad during exercise and the day after to the point where I can't raise my arm or lift my leg. I have had no improvement from the exercises for two and half years. Any other suggestions!

    Hello Tara. I had a stroke 3 years ago. I had an afo, I was taken off of it within 6 months. I still have spacicity in my leg and dorceflex/ swing my leg out when I walk. Should I wear my AFO? I can bend my knee and ankle but when I walk they tighten up

    You mentioned how the muscles work to keep the human body from folding forward as you walk. Well, I have just that , I lean forward (bent over) as I walk. How can I fix this. My legs are weak along with left hip pain. Thank you!
    P.S- I do have Sciatic nerve pain, numbness etc...

    Thank you. Awesome information. I have multiple contributing issues. Feeling overwhelmed by all I need to work on. 🫣 Where to start? Weak hips, hyperextending knee, ankle and hip flexor spasticity. Oh my! 🤣

      Start with maintaining vertical alignment in static positions. Once you can maintain them without walking, try with walking. That is where "devices" are a great tool. They might help to transition from the static to the dynamic. I hope that makes sense!
