RedRyder Z Golf R was gonna destroy the 340i from a dig no doubt. On roll I started in 2nd gear at 2000rpm to try not to spin, if I had started in 1st it probably would’ve been closer. We were planning on a 30 roll but weren’t able to do it. I think with a good start and enough space I will get him up top. Still some really fun runs, the R is no joke. I wish my car could launch like that lol
RedRyder Z We’ll definitely run again but not sure when. As far as mods I believe we both have tune, dp, intake, exhaust but I believe his tune is a flash whereas mine is just a plug and play. Stock for stock would honestly probably be very similar results. 292hp @ 3300-3400lbs in the R vs 320hp @ 3600-3700lbs in the 340.
It's funny cause I was thinking about getting a GTI as a daily and getting a project car after my lease is up. They're super fun. The 340i is an amazing car but we're kind of getting shafted in regards to tuning since the B58 is a new platform and the DME probably won't get cracked for another couple years. It is really responsive to mods though and I think it's the best sounding turbo inline 6 that BMW has ever produced. I would definitely recommend it, just needs better tires from factory.

That Bmw needs a driver mod. That’s a 340i m-sport that comes with b58 motor 8 speed n they claim it has a tune. But good job to the golf r those things ain’t no joke.

snYpz only thing above a 340i is a M3 lol. I think stock for stock you would take him. Mod wise I don't know the specs on either car. Run him again

snYpz I wish all bmw owners could be as realistic and down to earth like you. 340i is very nice, I was thinking about getting it after my GTI.
