The favorite system I have tried so far: learning to eat well (tasty, very nutritious, look-forward-to-it food) without cooking. Delightful, cookin-free meals. It saves so much time, complexity, equipment, space and hassle, and I love it.
Currently converting my 4Runner and have watched too many UA-cam videos for reference. This is the best video in terms of relevant content and creativity! When is the cook off between you two?
First of all, this video is awesome. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get a solid number for the number of spent shotgun hulls that fit in a 3l msr pot but I’ll figure it out myself. Lol. As far as the water jugs, those military ones are definitely the way to go. It’s absolutely true that they’re strangely expensive. They’re also designed to be thrown out of helicopters in a way that the reliance one was not. Interestingly, there is a flexible flip nozzle thingo that is designed to screw on to the threaded pour spout. Last I checked it was $25. Worth having, but strangely expensive for what it is.
Thanks for this feedback Paul. And yes, not at liberty to disclose that number. -- Also, the helicopter-proof aspect of those jugs makes a lot of sense! I might consider switching to that in the future sine my reliance tends to leak a bit...
Awesome run-through! The camp kitchen is my biggest headache trying to get it dialed in perfectly. Just watched your other video and am looking forward to seeing more about your sleeping platform build. I'm planning mine out (loosely) for my 3rd gen in my head while I'm offshore. Also, I agree the yetis are a scam but I got mine for free so you're not talking me out of it! It's the most expensive camp chair I've ever owned, but it would be nice if half the cooler capacity wasn't taken up by the insane insulation. Thanks for the videos! You're definitely inspiring me to dig through some thrift stores.
That utensil organizer is genius. Also love the content and video edit quality. Look forward to seeing more videos about the cooler and lighting and general 4Runner/camping content. Just subbed! Also, when are we getting the camp lighting video with product links!? :)
Thanks! The cooler video is now live ;-) THE TRUTH IS OUT haha. As for the lights, that video is lowest on my priority list, however I have linked to it in my first video about the 4runner camper conversion ;-) Check the comments
I wish there was a written list with the names of the kitchen gear (or actual links). I have a hard time getting the names and keeping track. Very interesting presentation! Hoping you do another video soon:)
“Dishes are a huge problem.” 👌🤣 Yes! And as soon as I could in young family life especially with multiple families/kids…set up the dishtubs right before meal (kids eat quick & go play) and have everyone wash their own.👏😁👍
Just stumbled across your videos. Very excited for your video about coolers, I am doing research right now before I start looking for mine. The gear comparison video is awesome! I love to hear people talk about how they make life on the road work for them. I love using a scrub brush but I am going to for sure try using some grass for cleaning my dishes when I get out on the road 😁 Dried grass I assume or does it matter?
Hey arnie, thanks! I was thinking the same thing, actually. Initially, I thought making a youtube video would be 'silly'... but after seeing how my take on things wasn't exactly echoed by the cis-male dominated scene I said why the hell not! And turns out, they are really fun to make!
Oh and I 2nd that Nogent French can opener (though it’s more expensive than it used to be) - it’s longevity surpasses any others and yes very intuitive. I love 3 nesting pots and I love having 2 fry pans as well…usually a combo of cast iron & a nonstick lighter fry pan. I also love nesting pots without handle attached - like magma but they are expensive and so there’s similar 3 SS t-gal ingenio set that’s much cheaper (going to test them out soon) and I use those flat silicone lids. For those of us feeding usually 10 people or more - I’m able to fit 6 SS MSR bowls and 6 plates inside the 7piece magma set. I like Campcraft Outdoors utensil roll because the top flap snaps back (over a rod or bungee or tree branch) and can hang vertically because counter space is precious.
Sadly Eco Vessel does not make that style anymore - but I went ahead and added a link to their most recent version in the description. Hope that helps!
Do many UA-camrs have it?? Wow I feel so hip - I just gave it a quick ebay search and it came up under "SEARS Deluxe Two Burner Propane Camp Stove model 920 727641"
Fair question! It's a Sakai Kikumori 165mm Santoku knife I paid $255 for at Bernal Cutlery in San Francisco. ---I will 100% admit to cheating in this competition.
Wow. Wow. Holy Cow. This is the camping content I've been looking for. Y'all are a hoot and so informative!
2mins in and instantly SUBSCRIBED! very informative and much appreciated!
Woo! welcome to team snail
This is sick - as someone who just bought a 4runner, looking forward to more of your vids

Ah yes, I like this approach as well. When I am traveling alone I especially prefer to 'graze'
The most relatable camping content I've ever seen. I'm making my own utensil roll asap
I value this feedback :-)
Sick video! Just bought my own 02 4runner living in providence and your videos are the best I’ve seen
I love that you came up with a unique format. Very cool. I am a new fan. (Sound could be a little louder : )
Great video! Keep doing what you’re doing and I see your channel growing exponentially :D

Hey thanks Jordan! Damn, let me tell you that if there was a cookout Rachael would most certainly win.

holy shit, dry grass as a sponge??? This vid was so much fun and SO informative, I absolutely loved it!
Welcome to the world of doing your dishes with grass :-)
For those who cook, getting the hang of using a good pressure cooker makes a lot of sense. They have many advantages.
Lovely house in the background!
Yeah! I now went to some of your other videos after you followed up with links! And subscribed:)

Loving the content, looking forward to more! If you think of it, linking to similar things you've thrifted would be fantastic
Thanks! Links to thrifted items... by that do you mean links to things I found for cheap but that could be purchased online?
I wish there was a written list with the names of the kitchen gear (or actual links). I have a hard time getting the names and keeping track. Very interesting presentation! Hoping you do another video soon:)

I'm a big fan of edible dishes my self. Tortillas, for example
Subscribed! You've got some quality stuff here - keep it up! 3rd gens for liiiiiife

I like this dry grass trick.

Awesome! Yes, cooler video is in the works! As for the grass, I imagine dried has more bristle to it ;-)
Happy to have discovered your channel. Need more female voices in the car camping circle. And your videos are so useful and fun!

You are most welcome!
The denim utensil roll is awesome.
Why thank you! It was pretty easy to make if you wanna DIY

I will have to look into these!
Amazing channel! 🤘
Hey, thanks!
I really like this video
Is there a link to that interesting eco bottle? I don't see it among the items in the description
Sadly Eco Vessel does not make that style anymore - but I went ahead and added a link to their most recent version in the description. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the video - what brand and make is that stove? I know it's old but it seems like a lot of youtubers have it!
Do many UA-camrs have it?? Wow I feel so hip - I just gave it a quick ebay search and it came up under "SEARS Deluxe Two Burner Propane Camp Stove model 920 727641"
Awesome! Subscribed.
Thanks Chans :-)
i like your video
I have 2001 4 runner. you should put firestone airbag on rear suspension.
I did not know the yeti lid magnet thing whaaaat 🤯
You're welcome.
Haha! Maximum fun!
so good
No stinking sponges for dish washing! Horsetail ferns are best, contain silica, then toss! I like to spray bottle rinse with vingar/water mix.
Great tip!
Here's a tip for washing dishes with little water and no soap: use a little baking soda 👍
I wanna know the price of that knife yo
Fair question! It's a Sakai Kikumori 165mm Santoku knife I paid $255 for at Bernal Cutlery in San Francisco. ---I will 100% admit to cheating in this competition.
I need to find this thrift shop she’s shopping at
new video when!!
Got a new one up now!
greetings to Griffins
