- Taking the 2023 Nissan Z to the track. The only performance modification is a @goracebox 93 Tune. The car is lowered on @Silvers-NA Coilovers and has an @AntigravityBatteries lithium battery. The car the way it sits with a better 60ft can knock off 3 or 4/10ths more off and it would be mind blowing!

Ever since Nissan announced these things, I knew with just a tune they were going to be quick, but not 120+ mph in the quarter on pump quick. Yeah, you could hurt some feelings with one of these with an aggressive water/meth tune on a car that looks and sounds stock. Nice runs!

That mph is not far behind my buddy with his 2020 Supra with Dp, E50 and Tune (stock tires). My boy runs a 10.9 @ 124mph. I’d think with full exhaust, e30 and re-tune you’d be in the 10’s no problem.

Very impressive! I can only imagine what this will do when you open up the exhaust and add E to the mix. Mid to low 10's do not seem out of the possibility on stock turbos.

There is a performance group that got the Z quite some time ago. They had to drop around 12-14k$ to get it to mid to low 10s. This car isn't cheap to upgrade compared to the supra. That company has since gotten it in the high 9s I believe.
@@tacosg4216 there is so much false information on the Z. The group you speak of is a shop called AMS. They make parts for the VR30 and of course they’re going to drop all they got on their car to advertise their products.
Any true performance/car enthusiast would understand that most of those parts aren’t going to add HP. All you need is a HPFP, LPFP, FDP’s, HX, a tire and a tune to go mid 10’s. To be safe you add flex fuel. All in like 5k
I almost went 11.07 with tune only. Don’t let the Z haters spread this negative information. They sound ridiculous.

DAMNNNN, that’s impressive. I mean it’s basically a stock car.
That's like a 1.9 - 2.0 60 foot on street with no dragstrip rollout timing (-.20 -.30). My best which isn't anything super great is with my 2 .5yr old hussain 93 tune and CBE/AMS airboxes was 1.87 60 foot/2.83 0-60mph on the street no roll out/dragy on 285 Toyo R888R's. Smoking the rear tires with the joke so called launch control at the time. Best 1/4 on the street was 118.5 mph with the 1st gear to 2nd gear fuel cut at that time. I added the AMS LPFP after that but never had the room to run the car (2019 Q50 3.0t rwd)
theres people getting consistent 1.8 60 fts on q50/60s with normal tires, suspension mods and tire gets them near 1.5- 1.6 with an open dif
@clefable37 maybe awd but not many daily street tires will hold 430-450 rwhp on the average street. 275-305 E.T. Street R is about best option. I have a low boost 1st gear, boost by gear map, with ecutek LC, I still roast my tires after the 5 mph mark. I gave up trying. That was a year ago.
Good for this Z owner to be documenting the build with real data. Will be interesting to see real results when he adds full downpipes + cbe and the proper tuning. See what these true parts net. Hopefully now fuel mods just 93 octane to start.
@clefable37 also I've come to the revelation is if chasing times then the best time to do it is when 40-50 degrees and low D.A. This means lose the summer tires on the street and look at UHP all season tire. No traction with a summer tire in the cold. Pretty much all vehicles make more power when cooler and turbo/supercharged vehicles see even greater benefits.
My times were in the hot summer 90 plus degrees and 2,500+ D.A.
Don't get me wrong I'm unapologetically American and I'm
Mopar/Dodge for life, but I'm seriously considering getting a Nismo Z or perhaps a performance Z. It has nothing to do with me being tired or bored with Dodge, it would just be nice to have a vehicle that doesn't get profiled by police so much. I've gapped like a million cops and most of time its just because they wanted to fuck with me for driving a 392. Nissan is by far the best JDM platform out there and i wouldn't mind owning the GTR's little brother.
My first love was a Pontiac GTO. I too have American muscle running in my blood, but Nissan also has a special place in my heart.

Even the orginal 90s Toyota supra with no mods can do burnouts and pull very low 11s, the fact this car can't with 70 to 80 more HP is sad.

The car has enough power to do a burn out. They just put a safety feature in the car to prevent accidents under a panic situation. That unfortunately doesn’t allow you to do a burn out.
The car still can do it once you disable that feature.

Look up the weight also of 90’s cars. Current cars with all its electronics and safety features put on ALOT of weight. I’m pretty sure 90’/s cars are about low 3000 to high 2,000 pounds vs cars now where you close to 3.8-4,000+ pounds.
@jimmyzhang9134 yea that's true, it actually doesn't have to be that way because you could use high strength air craft grade aluminum and magnesium in most or all of the frame shaving off just as much weight if not more than the additional electronics add thereby having a car where you can have your cake and eat it to so to speak, but of course Nissan will never do this, they keep using these old outdated chassis with heavy steel in them.

I’ve done a lot with my Q50 so this engine is reliable. If you run dry on oil then it would be a very bad time.
I’m hoping they revised these turbos enough to where they don’t burn as much oil as the ones in the Q’s.

You rarely find 3.0 Supras for 40k and if you do they have high miles. If that’s what you want then you do you.
And I said “will be” as in eventually the Z’s will be in the 30’s. Its going to be a mass produced car which through history has shown to be a depreciating asset and that’s a FACT.
Honestly, as an “adult” I can care less about what someone on the internet thinks because you don’t have a Supra and I do in fact own a Z that I chose over a Supra.

Haven't seen one Z on the street. Markups are ridiculous for that kind of money there are way better options. Used GTRs cost less than some marked up Zs. Ridiculous.

the platform is interesting and stuff but what is not impressive is that people have been doing the samething with the q50 and q60 since 2017 what is disappointing with this car is that there's nothing new besides the manual transmission the Z is a Q60 redsport but atleast it's a good platform and when the 400z sells used then it will be good
The Auto trans is also different. The car weighs 3500-3600 vs 3800-4100. I nearly ran a 10 sec pass with tune only. No Q can do that.

@@ZillaFullBoost i dont think the 9 speed does much difference in that its probably the same trans but with more gears if it was a DCT then i'd be noticeable but i think your wheels and tires with the weight does the most but i'd be curious to see Q60 tuned with rubber the difference it would make even me on stock rs400 q50 awd i spin on launches

@@ZillaFullBoost Can you read? I clearly said almost 10 years old. Yes, that’s the point. The B58 debuted in 2015 and is a much better engine. Nissan had FOURTEEN years to come up with something special for the release of the new Z but instead they shoved a Q50 engine into a 370z chassis.
What you are showing is nothing special, we’ve seen it before, 8 years ago. Also, the B58 was refreshed in 2018 to be more powerful and has more tuning potential.
The VR30 has remained the exact same since inception. They are incomparable.
The increased performance you’re talking about is coming from the decrease in weight from a Q50 to the Z and the 2009 370z body aerodynamics. Not the engine. There is nothing special about it.

Have you opened up the vr30 in the Z because you sound very confident every single thing is identical. I can assure you something is different, but you should know that since you’re an internet expert.
It’s not just weight reduction and aerodynamic that make this car quicker than a Q. The transmission makes more difference. You should have known that being the expert that you are.
No one said it’s just the engine. I’m talking about the whole car all together. Stop criticizing and being condescending of the VR30/Z because in reality you probably drive a clapped out Miata and don’t even own a B58.

I noticed better times in my q50 letting it shift in automatically in dynamic. When I paddle shifted I got worse times. Maybe I'm just not very good at it but it's not hard. Idk. Just plane old dynamic "sport" mode seemed to yield better times but I don't have a tune or anything.

If I remember I hit it around 6700rpm, where ever my vq37 peak HP is.
Do it slightly after peak next time.

Not really impressed because the new Supra which is 12k cheaper runs better numbers with "just a tune and tires" and runs better numbers in stock form as well and handles better and sounds better and more fun to drive and has way better engine for tuning since the B58 was proven to take up to 1100 HP on stock internals with 0 issues which is the first production engine ever that is able to achieve this and it looks better in my opinion BUT I like the new Z and like to see people buying it because I like see varieties and i respect peoples own taste in cars so enjoy it dude its a nice car and has a way better interior than the supra
The new supra is not 12k cheaper lol Unless you're talking about the 4 cylinder version which is in fact not pumping better numbers than the Z. The 3.0t supra is faster but it's also 10k more than the Z. Price to performance is about the same for both cars and it's just a matter of preference.
Yeah..but it's a BMW and not a real SUPRA. The Z is a real Japanese car with an already proven engine to do some major damage. I can't wait when tuners start to bore it out to 3.8, 4.0 4.2 perhaps and start annihilating the competition 😂
If you like the Supra engine, buy the original bmw z4 or m2

@@ZillaFullBoost fair enough. I had a 2017 370z Nismo for a few year and really enjoyed the car but I didn’t love it , so I sold it for a 2013 Porsche Boxster PDK with sport chrono , I’ve never had a car that made me so happy it’s lightweight , sounds the absolute business and is beautiful
