Couple of things that I took away from playing with this for hours last night… - I would love to see an analysis progress bar, or some sort of indication that it’s finished with analyzing the track. - when I first installed it, I didn’t have my SX3 handy, but had my Numark DJ2GO2 Touch… was able to map the stem function to where I needed, since it only has four small pads, and a button to switch between those functions. - using my SX3, with four decks, you can load one song on the four decks, select the stem function for each track, and start them all at the same time… 1 and 2 with a 16b loop, then 3 and 4, with the same, then switch to back to 1 and 2, and disengage the loops. Quantize is your friend! You can then adjust the sliders to fine tune the levels of each stem, and apply effects to each one. No, it’s not practical live, but it’s still fun as hell. - seems to work the same with lossy files as it does with lossless. - music videos work great as well. I can’t think of anything else off-hand, but I’ll edit this if I remember anything. Cheers!

The Stems implementation looks promising. Not a killer-feature I need, but as long its free, why not.

I use a few stems. I chop them up in x trax and have them as files when I want to use one. One piece of advice I have: listen to the stem before you play it. Producers eq the whole track together- sometimes they weaken certain parts so the overall sounds better or they effect them in a strange way and they don't sound so great when pulled out by an algorithm. An acapella version will always beat out a vocal stem. I still feel like stems haven't really caught on yet. They have been floating around for awhile in Vdjay and other software and I still haven't seen a DJ making really heavy use of them or even noticeably using them. I hear one now and again. Even think of all the mix breakdowns in the lab (decons of great mixes) not one of those involves a stem at all (to my knowledge) and there are what? Over 100 decons now..... Wonder if it will be sort of like the slicer- sounds great but it seems like no one really uses it much.
Hi there~ I had no idea that stems was available for a 2 channel controller! For their compatiable hardware it looks like they're mostly 4 channels and I can't understand why

Indeed I can say Serato has paid a lot to advertise this new feature 😂 literally every DJ has reviewed this feature today and I use it in Virtual DJ since long back. Yes might not be that super clean but it's there and it's pretty decent at least for the vocals and instrumentals and it doesn't drain your CPU analyzing the tracks

Thanks for the video! I do like the ability to map stems to the EQ section though (using Djay). Especially for my portable (Mixtour) controller.
