Absolutely impressive how these young people that weren't even around in the 80s figured out the algorithm of 80s music and all of the cliches. I love it 👍
The one thing about the 80s that defined the generation is materialism was plentiful, we had discovered new synthetic fibres that allowed for cheaper and more plentiful clothing, machinery and tech finally allowed for more food production which in turn boosted the economy of the world. So it is the start of the age of luxury and general having more than we need. This was even more so in the 90s but after that population rising and immigration rises had ruined the plentiful vibe as we slowly crept into the digital age. So when it comes to the music, in most cases (apart from social issue movements like the punk and ska cultures) the music represents that general optimism of the future, which again was represented in 90s rave/dance culture music. So yeah, 80s music in general is very upbeat, bright and optimistic, with of course the creating of the synthesiser being THE instrument of the generation that is used in most 80s music. I was born in the 80s so i have nostalgia for 80s music, though I was not into music myself until the 90s when I became compos mentis.

Production value wise this is a remarkable milestone for the entire NRW scene. And someone saying this is too 90's ? Like how? 90's didn't have that kind of scifi influence. Even if it had, it was vanishing rapidly. Costume wise Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were probably some of the last stuff that reminded of 80's in some way. Besides early 90's spawned from 80's. Let's not forget that. Nothing changes overnight. I'm impressed if all the scenes from this video are originals and not taken from somewhere. The beginning seems like from some old movie. That blue alien and robot head are impressive costumes. Better than CGI for me. Quite believable actually. I hope other artists are brave enough to try something like this too. To this extent.
I think the planet is actually Coruscant from Star Wars. The space station reminds me from Dark Matter. But I totally agree on it being great production value. The music is very passionate and very poppy. But still great!!
Everything in the intro, meant to be a collection of homages, was made from scratch using Blender and Photoshop. The planet is indeed based on Coruscant, however the station was inspired more by Star Trek. Glad you like the video ;)
Great work on visual effects sir! Hope to see more of your work for the scene in near future. Or in past... Those ships in the beginning reminds me of Blade Runner somehow. The beginning scene.
I was thinking the same thing about the makeup/costumes. They look far more believable in this video than most of today's modern CG FX. Bottom line: CG will never be a substitute for the real McCoy.
If you're not from the 80's, this fantasy song is capable of making you fall in love with this era. Nowadays, music has lost it way, no one can pull out a classic hit, it end in the 90's.
