- I show our annual Christmas tradition - baking the Vörtbröd! :)
Jag visar hur vi bakar vårt traditionsenliga vörtbröd. Originalrecept från Bohuslän.
Recipe (16 pieces of bread)
250g Butter
6 dl of porter beer
~5 dl Julmust* see below
3,5 dl Swedish dark syrup* see below
100g fresh yeast
15-18g of ground bitter orange peel
7,5 ml of ground cinnamon
1 ml of ground cloves
5 ml salt
~ 2 kg wheat flour

Julmust - a soft drink that is mainly consumed in Sweden around Christmas. You probably can find it at your local IKEA store around Christmas.

@@VeluBeru what time of year you are cooking said dish makes a huge difference, are the ingredienced fresh,or are they canned, or dried and preserved. only a school trained chef, would use canned tomatoes and kid themselves that it is as good as fresh tomatoes. italy alone, has difgerent recipes depending on whether you are from the mountains in the north, or the southern shoreline regions. only a trained french chef, would think everything is the same, no matter where you are from. different strokes for different folks... something you should have learned in schoolp

Seeing the children really helping out, man that's great, mine are all grown and gone away, I throw my ingredients in a bread machine and call that tradition.☺
