Smoking and drinking, some of lifes great pleasures, scouse mac still sounds great , bunnymen one of britains great, great groups, still love them, timeless
The most fitting song title ever written , enjoy the times you roll , what a fantastic song , echo & the bunny men, big round of applause for one legend of a tune , 👍👊
It's listening to wonderful music like this, which reminds me of better and happier times in my earlier years, which is really helping me survive the numerous covid lockdowns. Ive been a fan since the early John Peel days, when I was about 15, the first John Peel session was in 79, but he played them quite a few times before then in the months before as I remember. The early stuff like Crocodiles and Do It Clean were always the best in my mind. I remember seeing Ian at the Hacienda a few times around 1981/82 I think, not playing there just hanging around I guess. He was always surrounded by fans/journos, sober and chatting away with them, holding court.
Nice one Jonny.....I used to have a small FAC51 badge which were given out when Madonna played there. I was broke once and sold it for £20....one of my biggest regrets.
Totally awesome as usual for EATBM ! I am privileged to be one of the first few to view this! I am hoping this band will gear up and do something phenomenal for their 40th!
Ian can still sorta hit the high notes, still....would rather hear an Echo & the Bunnymen that accepted “maturity” (think Leonard Cohen) than an Echo&theBunnymen that was focused on “the comeback trail/Oasis”. We’re old...embrace it.
The current version is very appropriate considering the song lyrics are about life desire and pain suffering. The rough sounding voice adds credibility to the song's thoughtful composition. Always thought original studio version lacks vocal depth, sounded too young to describe life experience.
Even as a Liverpool fan, that Jürgen Klopp bit is so cringey. Like the video though - as someone else has already written, he's somewhat worn out voice kind of adds an authenticity that fits the song.
Not the best live version i must say. One can fancy Ian's voice or not (I personnaly don't here), the song is too fast and looses its intensisity. Though I both love the song and the band !
I'm pretty sure he is/was ? a heavy smoker mersey which hopefully won't take him away from us too soon......seen them twice (Manchester and Nottingham) and Electrafixion once. I have a handful of music hero's....Lou Reed, Talking Heads, Steely Dan and Echo. Ian stands head and shoulders above most British bands as he never sucked up to the promo leeches and similar types. There have been great bands from Liverpool but Echo must be my favourite with The Beatles coming a close second. Anyone remember the dopes called The Farm....ouch.
Echo will always be my favorite band, its been fun growing old together!
Great comment 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I concur
His voice is so raspy and stoic, brilliant song! His solo stuff was as brilliant as with Echo!
Same as 👍
Beautiful song !!!! I love lyrics ❤

Glad to see that their bass player finally got himself a Fender Jazz bass, so that he can play Bunnymen tunes proper.
Their early stuff was immense. So glad they're playing now too♡
I love this song one day I listened to it all day.
RIP Lou Reed
Thanks Ian for the homage
The band will last forever 😍
Still listening 2023/24

nothin lasts forever.... never a truer statement.
Love this song, just found this update, against the original, excellent

Cool song!!!
What a band.....there is a Facebook page.
Nothing Lasts Forever...not even the wait for The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon!
The always exceptionally cool, Ian McCulloch.
❤❤
💯💯💯
Love this song . Ain’t his voice struggling here though ?
I actually love the kinda rough way he sings it here
very much so. His voice has certainly (eventually) changed
I miss Les! And Pete.
Absolutely it’s hard seeing someone else in their place
Missing you Sean K..😢
One BIG POET
Fantastic Mac attack
I wanna play football for the coach, Jurgen Klopp is the coach
Jurgen Klopp is the coach👌🏻👍🏻
Where's Kelley?
Klopp reference at the end.
Haha.
Voice shot
👍
Which one’s Echo?
He left before they got famous.
Come on,
Who wanna kiss Ian McCulloch...??
Be truthful in the name of E&tB Lord..
is this about sniff ?
I miss Nick and Gordy!
Anyone know if he is still a chain smoker ?
Ian's voice is knackered - ah well...
He may be sounding a tad rough, but he's still head & shoulders above anything you could ever do!
No he still sounds amazing
Where’s Liam 😂

Mac messes up the timing of the "Nothing ever lasts.." Chorus, shame this would've been a good performance, except for that large mistake.
Echo minha banda 🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️
The smoking and drinking has taken its toll on Mac’s voice. Shame

This man did NOT take care of his voice...
Great song - shite ending !
He is losing his voice. Smoking has taken its toll
This seems rushed. Love the Bunnymen but Ian’s voice is crippled here. cheers
Two ex- band members both died of motorcycle accident, coincident ?
He is alive buddy
Bass player is still alive, just the drummer
Bass player moved to Australia as he was tired of the band
he can't sing now
