Otra vez me lo encuentro bro. OLTA es increíble, es mi disco favorito de ellos. Y deberían tocara más Canciones de Ese Disco en vivo, es una lastima que no Sea así.
This song is about the murder of Imette St. Guillen in 2006. The title refers to her walking from one bar, called Pioneer, to another bar, called the Falls, where she was raped and murdered by a bouncer. This song is so hauntingly beautiful and knowing the backstory makes it a lot more emotional.
Takes me back to the summer before 10th grade when I begged my parents to buy me this album on our trip to Disney world. The whole road trip back home I listened to it front to back over and over. The nostalgia is real fam!
I've been listening Interpol for a many years but hearing this song in this studio performace just gave me goosebumps. It's like meeting your old friend and still discovering new things in him.
Show me the dirt pile And I will pray that the soul can take Three stowaways Vanish with no guile And I will not pay But the soul can wait The soul can wait It's still pretty What with all these leaves We'll be fine We'll be fine But if it's still pretty What with all these leaves We'll be fine, oh And supervise Show me the dirt pile And I will pray that the soul can take Three stowaways And you vanish with no guile And I will not pay But the soul can wait I felt you so much today I know you try You fly straight into my heart You fly straight into my heart Girl, I know you try You fly straight into my heart You fly straight into my heart But here comes the fall So much for make-believe, I'm not sold So much of dreams, deceit, I'm not prepared to know Your heart makes me feel Your heart makes me bold For always and ever I'll never let go Always concealed Safe and inside, alive Show me the dirt pile And I will pray that the soul can take Three stowaways In a passion it broke I pull the black from the gray But the soul can wait I felt you so much today
That depends on what you're looking at, in terms of technical ability you might be right but Daniel Kessler is where Interpol's signature sound comes from. They've said that Daniel will always come up with some hypnotic guitar piece and bring it to the rest of the band to work around. So even though Daniel isn't doing anything particularly fancy he is the most important in terms of creating their sound
A matter of opinion.. Interpol would cease to exist without all parts during the years. Dan is the man though. Thank god they exist in this craxy world we live in! This is some performance 😎
Such a beautiful, emotional performance of this song, love it so much! Also, I am genuinely surprised by how great Paul sounds, compared to some performances from 2-3 years ago he sounds like a man reborn, his control seems to be much tighter and just, the overall quality is breathtaking. Thank you Interpol, for making our lives more pleasant and enjoyable
Perfect. A masterpiece as is the album. The concert supporting this album back in 2007 has been my favorite Interpol concert. I love their music, especially their early music. 💓💋
This song is so eery to me. I remember sitting in my ex’s house a few years ago on Halloween drinking like there was no tomorrow and this came on, made the whole scene completely different
Little by little, in listening again to all their songs, it seems to me that perhaps it is almost offensive towards them to make a comparison with all other contemporary groups. I think they are wrongly defined a "post punk" group: they are simply universal musicians who touch the hearts of the people with their wonderful poems.
La premura que está desde el inicio y se va desarrollando hasta envolverte en una completa atmósfera de desesperación y al mismo tiempo, esperanza; eso es lo que me fascina de esta canción.
I was just listening to the song before this was recommended to me.. that's nice, great performance and Paul's voice is fine here. Sam killed it, as always
Although Paul's voice is slightly worn-out by time and by countless concerts, it is still so beautiful that there is no comparison with the faded voices of the other frontmen I know! It must then be considered that this wonderful song is composed in such a way as not to allow the singer any vocal trick. In my memory, only another voice of rock music, though so different, gave me a similar emotion, that of Hugh Cornwell of the "Stranglers".
Ojalá puedas asistir a uno de sus conciertos, la verdad es que no diferencias en nada el trabajo instrumental, lo grabado y lo live; es de las pocas bandas que logran escucharse exactamente igual. Experiencia única y espero que puedas vivirlo. 🙌🏼🤩😉
Paul's voice is SO much better here. I'm really not a fan of the recent shouting/straining style he's got going on in a lot of their songs. Screw Carlos, bring this voice back!
OLTA just gets better with each listen. A different kind of masterpiece to TOTBL (let's face it, best debut album of 2000s) and Antics, but just as magnificent. Thankyou.
Their lyrics have no comparison, they are such an enigma. In a way I’m glad Interpol ain’t like a Beyoncé , for they are so much Better , and whenever I run into another fan of the band is such a joy.
When Paul sings “here comes the falls” and that guitar riff kicks in, I feel like I’m free falling through the clouds and I ❤️ it!
Way.
...and I thought I was the only one having that feeling...
Moneyallspent my favorite part too
@@gabyamezaga x1000
Many of us feel that, and it's something very beautiful
this song flies straight into my heart every single time
Same
but here comes the fall
OLTA is a much underrated album in my opinion. For songs like this OLTA is pretty awesome.
Otra vez me lo encuentro bro. OLTA es increíble, es mi disco favorito de ellos. Y deberían tocara más Canciones de Ese Disco en vivo, es una lastima que no Sea así.
I really don’t think that OLTA is underrated, but unfortunately this wonderful band in general.
I agree. Rest my chemistry is one of the best songs of all human history.
For me is his best album, every song is AMAZING and close an album with THE LIGHTHOUSE... no man, OLTA is THE ALBUM of Interpol
YES I agree and I am a hardcore but very critical fan. That record is awesome. Heinrich Maneuver is my fav. I listen to that song nearly every day.
Just heard this song in a Smallville Episode. Getting goosebumps
That's how I was introduced to them.
I really cried when I heard this song live, it's such an amazing masterpiece!
Same here!
So moving.
Masterwork
La tocan en vivo?? Dios yo me quede sin escucharla porque no la tocaron cuando llegaron. Pd. Soy de mexico
and same here. me and my gf both cried. i’ve been waiting for them for 15 long years

This is arguably one of my favorite songs from Interpol and I did not know this, I am mindblown!
@@gilb_4 same. It hits different, harder, but it's still amazing
I'm also mind blown wow
WOAH
Oh shit, that's something I didn't know before!
Takes me back to the summer before 10th grade when I begged my parents to buy me this album on our trip to Disney world. The whole road trip back home I listened to it front to back over and over. The nostalgia is real fam!
Sheev Palpatine This album made up for the corporate debauchery that Disneyworld represents
Wow ,sounds like my story about a Depeche Mode cassette I bought back
In mid 80s so cherished that cassette was . Black celebration
Shut up, darth vader threw you off a ledge
Sheev Palpatine WOW!! That’s EXACTLY when I got this album too. For my birthday, on a family trip to Disney, at the Virgin Megastore.
So cool!!!
Can they always perform with a red light on them, compliments them perfectly!
Yeah it's completely their vibe.
I've been listening Interpol for a many years but hearing this song in this studio performace just gave me goosebumps. It's like meeting your old friend and still discovering new things in him.
listening for the first time Radiohead's b-sides
Interpol is the finest band ever!!! 👌😌
Why does Paul always look so good?
Jameela because he is delicious 🥰
he's traded his voice for looks

Yeah girl, Sam and Daniel too
I swear smallville gave me so many great songs!
Currently watching it again and I just heard this song!
this is such an underrated performance
They killed it. So haunting at this tempo
Rolonón, sin duda alguna.
También No, I in threesome!
Es una maldita joya. al min 2:45 pone los pelos de punta.
I miss you Carlos D. 😪
One of the best songs ever written.
Show me the dirt pile
And I will pray that the soul can take
Three stowaways
Vanish with no guile
And I will not pay
But the soul can wait
The soul can wait
It's still pretty
What with all these leaves
We'll be fine
We'll be fine
But if it's still pretty
What with all these leaves
We'll be fine, oh
And supervise
Show me the dirt pile
And I will pray that the soul can take
Three stowaways
And you vanish with no guile
And I will not pay
But the soul can wait
I felt you so much today
I know you try
You fly straight into my heart
You fly straight into my heart
Girl, I know you try
You fly straight into my heart
You fly straight into my heart
But here comes the fall
So much for make-believe, I'm not sold
So much of dreams, deceit, I'm not prepared to know
Your heart makes me feel
Your heart makes me bold
For always and ever
I'll never let go
Always concealed
Safe and inside, alive
Show me the dirt pile
And I will pray that the soul can take
Three stowaways
In a passion it broke
I pull the black from the gray
But the soul can wait
I felt you so much today
RIP Imette St. Guillen
Hope this song return to their setlist!
Vinícius Enéas They’ve been opening their last few shows with this, lol.
It did! Saw them in Dallas and they opened with this...I cried
They did at the hollywood bowl. Although they only played for a little over an hour ☹
they opened with it tonight at the Royal Albert Hall! incredible
heard it 2 times in a week, I was crying, I have zero regrets. It was BEAUTIFUL.
Fogarino has always been the best musician in Interpol.
I'd say its close between him and Carlos but they're all great. Paul is probably the most underrated, some great bass lines in El Pintor and Marauder
That depends on what you're looking at, in terms of technical ability you might be right but Daniel Kessler is where Interpol's signature sound comes from. They've said that Daniel will always come up with some hypnotic guitar piece and bring it to the rest of the band to work around. A matter of opinion.. Interpol would cease to exist without all parts during the years. Dan is the man though. Thank god they exist in this craxy world we live in! This is some performance 😎
They are all awesome musicians. But I would say Carlos was the best.
lmao not even close. Carlos is easily and by far the best musician in them. The band is lifeless and forgotten without him in it.
This music is for vampires that have lived for 400 years and are longing for a lasting romance that won’t die before them.
The lovelorn vampires would literally say "show me the dirt pile", yes that checks out 😀
Such a beautiful, emotional performance of this song, love it so much! The band was reborn!
Paul had some vocal training to 'open up his voice', now he says he was basically shouting before rather than singing lol
⚫️INTERPOL SEEMS MORE PRECISE;WITH AGE COMES STEALTH; I'M ECSTATIC TO SEE SUCH TALENT EVOLVE⚫️
Just the outro alone (like last 20 secs) gives me chills. Haunting
Perfect. A masterpiece as is the album. The concert supporting this album back in 2007 has been my favorite Interpol concert. I love their music, especially their early music. 💓💋
Sam's drumming! Tickets booked for London 14 June 2022.
Goodness me! 2007 Class A's, Reading festival, friends a great time not remembered! What a time to be alive!
OLTA will always be my favourite album. Maybe it’s not their best one, objectively, but I just love every single song on it!
I can't belive that it have been six years since they release this version, I still love it, but now I'm feeling old
I was listening this song already! What a coincidence! Just perfect ❤
Paul marry me someday 😍
OLTA their best album!
Those drums starting at 03:20
Tobias Hoen makes March drumming sound badass
This bridge is one of my all time favorite moments of music of any genre

While cinematic and hauntingly beautiful, the song is inspired by true crime
"smallville" brought me to this great music
The riff at 2:55 sounds so cinematic. Bless you Interpol.
Hearing this now brought me back to its release. God, what a GREAT album. Pace Is The Trick was a life changer.
Little by little, in listening again to all their songs, it seems to me that perhaps it is almost offensive towards them to make a comparison with all other contemporary groups. I bet this song must sound beautiful live. Can’t wait to see them in Miami!
I cry with this song. Even when I listen to it live. It flies straight into my heart.

Best vocals I've heard from PB.
I should rephrase this as PB's PB (personal best) on lyrics.
El mejor tema lejos de Interpol, inentendible como no lo hacìan en vivo, ojalà lo incluyan siempre a partir de ahora
