Thank you for uploading this advice. Can I just add, I struggled to hear what you were saying. Thought I'd mention for any future videos, might help to set volume a little higher.
Keep in mind this video was made almost two years ago, costs have risen a lot since then. The general idea is the same, in that the relative costs between load bearing and non load bearing walls are not that far apart. I’m an sure what you mean by ‘two storey load bearing wall’. I suggest getting professional advice from a local builder and structural engineer before going much further.
A structural engineer should always be consulted. I know from experience when a wall is load bearing but I can’t legally certify that or legally specify the size of beam required to support the load.
@@marklester7564 sorry, engineers fees vary widely. Talk to some builders or architects who do the kind of work you are thinking about. Work out who is suitable in your area
I made an updated version of this video recently. The REAL Cost to Remove a Load Bearing Wall in 2024 ua-cam.com/video/A0mwMMOHhm0/v-deo.html but stone external walls will be thicker than modern construction and require more steel to hold up. The internal walls are usually made of brick however
I couldn't comment without more detail. As I said in the video, its the remedial and decoration work where the money is spent. Keep in mind, this video is a year old and inflation has been running rampant.

Thank you. This was recorded almost a year ago and I have since started using a better quality microphone.
Great informatics. Can you roughly elaborate how figures change for a two story load bearing wall please ? Bristol area.

Hi, love the video. Do you need a structural engineer first to advise you on aloud bering wall?

How much would a engineer cost and could you recommend someone WV131ED Thanks

Is this the same for an old 1830s stone built property?

Would wall 2 still need the builders?
Yes
Great video, thank you.
You are welcome

Could we have a follow up on the costs in 2024? Very helpful video to understand what is involved.
Cost me £50....just got a lump hammer and did it myself. Only wastemans pay the amounts you quoting in this VHS video tape.
True, after wall is secured taking it one by one is a simple task. Ridiculous video
