Great video and work as always, even though I work in Sweden and only on commercial projects the pain points were all the same. I find regulation differences between countries fascinating!
Hi great video! I am a recent graduate and working on communicating more effectively with clients. I was intrigued by what you said at 4:12. How do you begin to persuade a client (who I am assuming does not have a formal education in architecture), the value of a sheltered threshold between indoor and outdoor space? Perhaps it may be difficult to fully grasp its value without visiting your previous projects, so I am curious how you approach this issue. Just came across your channel and subscribed immediately, looking forward to watching all your other videos. Thanks.
Nice job & finish. Complete open plan is overrated. If possible, it's always nice to keep a separate space away from the large open kitchen/dining. And if possible the washing machine/dryer, Super nice use of light. I also wish I'd put the door overhang in on our extension.
Thank you for these in depth and insightful videos on your process and opinions. I'm based in Ireland (ROI) myself so it's not a 1 to 1 match with our planning system, but there are similarities in style and architecture. :) ☘
Is there a downside to using metal roofs? I.e. noise with rain for example ? I am planning a new roof for my entire home , Including a new single story side extension and wonder if a zinc roof is a good solution.
I’m guessing they will but it’s really a question for an estate agent. They told me recently that a few neighbours had work done that cost far more than they paid.

Thabk you, I too am interested in how things work in other places.

That was a slog through the swamps. I like the end product, it definitely adds livability.
It was a journey for everyone involved
Hello, could you share the exposed roof joist and roof light detail? It looks great. Are the trimmers sat on top of the Douglas joists?

Glad it was helpful!
What was the size of the kitchen extension?
The extension alone was about 35 square meters.

I can highly recommend zinc. The amount of insulation in the roof means occupants don’t hear anything
It would be interesting if the owners would get their money back?

you mean the builder closed his company to avoid paying debts owed lol
