I hope that Mary Pat is watching this with the biggest smile ever!! So cool to see her late husband's truck coming together so nicely with the parts you already had, it really was, just meant to be!!
well the motor was build by pauls cousin, but i get ya.
An awesome burnout with a couple of Juvenile Delinquents!! LOL One for the ages!
Love the uncontrollable laughter of two brothers as they realize they have built “The Beast” and haze the tires off it!😂😂
I’ve never seen Paul react this way “ ever” when doing a burnout. See his face and eyes Wow this is an “animal “ . Even Ben is surprised too. Look how long those tires just 🔥 burned. Way to go guys.
I love how grand ma comes in to check things out. That's love
She's just making sure she doesn't have to call 911
That's grandma's hot rod ! the boys just don't know it yet.
Paul was about 2 seconds away from going back over grans knee for an attitude realignment...
That is surely just a habit after raising these boys.........😏
The look on your guy's face after the first burnout priceless
I'm 70 and my first reaction to that burn-out was my 19 year old self just smilin big, wishin I was in the seat next to you. Then my parent self shook my head and wondered if the police would come. You two are Great to watch!!!
I’m 70 and my reaction was “Tires are too expensive to destroy them like that just for childish fun.” Glad the brothers are having so much fun and laughter. Makes me miss my departed brother even more.
Never gets old my friend!! 60 and still doing burnouts!!
I was actually looking out the back window for the cherries n berries to come on......
Paul Is Stuck At 19! He Does That To Every Car He Builds. I Just Wonder WHY?
@@davidcampbell4465 those are party lights. I have seen the cops turn them on to celebrate burnouts. At least thats my take.
Love that your mamma spends her days with her boys. It's obvious that it makes her day watching her boys work together.
It doesn't get any better than this! Older brother Ben and young kid Paul creating classic content. Such a cool mom still a great part of the lives. Just wish Papa was here to witness this in the flesh...but then again, he has the best seat in the house. Hunter...you dun real good!
My wife and I were lucky enough to visit Fab Rats in September. Truly wonderful & genuine family just like you see here, with Grandma Lolly knowing every detail of every project. We’re pretty sure she’s in charge and the boys do all the work.
two brothers having fun, it can't get any better! loving the content paul, nice job with the edits michelle!
Michele is amazing. Love the soundtrack!
Two brothers just having a blast with the 42. Made me chuckle a couple times.
Ha ha, me too. I'm 56, and still smile at big Smokey burnouts. Great to see two grown ass men laughing like schoolboys.
That so cool 😅
Mary Pat would be so proud of this truck and Grandma Lally is keeping an eye on her boy's all the time and making sure they eat lunch. This '42 is a beast and is going to be a great rod and ride!
I haven't seen you and Ben with a smile like that the entire fab rats career! Awesome stuff guys, keep it up!
I was going to say I've never seen Paul laugh so hard or have such a big smile on his face in any videos...almost doesn't even look like him! 😃
Since having Ben in the shop as part of the Crew is beyond a blessing in my humble opinion. Seeing him and Paul ,as brothers, laughing, joking and sharing what they love to do, together, is just awsome! This video especially, with the test ride and the laughs and smiles of Paul and Ben makes me think of their childhood and how much fun they had together doing somthing that showed those same emotions.. It's even better since grandma Lolly is there running the Rat Shack and keeping a loving and comical eye on her boys. I Love seeing you all together ❤ Even though I've not been able to personally meet you all yet, just watching , since Paul's "EZ Duz it" youtube videos years ago that I stumbled across, I instantly knew you all were an amazing, caring and God fearing family! And since the beginning of the Fab Rats channel, my beliefs and certainty have came through, even stronger, with each new video!
Your brother the perfect addition to the shop.
That was awesome I think Paul and Ben were even surprised with the pure power .
The more i watch Paul's cousin's channel, the more i'm convinced Merlon is really actually a wizard. Some of the stuff he knows about combinations of parts that work together to do something they weren't designed for is cool. (Like converting basically *any* higher output alternator into a trail welder, no Premier Power Welder needed.)
@@UmmmmmmmWhat I always forgot to go check there. What is the channel name?
@@mattwilliams3456 Merlins Old School Garage. He has a website too if you google that.
More like a look of fear.

That's what Paul lives for, I don't know if I've ever seen those two smiling like that. Best part is I wonder how many times in how many vehicles those two did that growing up!
Paul and Ben smiling and laughing made my day!!!!! That truck is a beast!!!!!
The looks on your faces! “As proud as a puppy with two peters!” What a cool hot rod.
I like the way you both just look at each other in laughter... pure joy...
The smile on Paul and Ben's faces was priceless. That is an amazing little truck! Great Job
Ben's face during the burnout was priceless!
This video just made me grin for so many reasons. There's something about Paul that reminds me of my dad -- his build, the twinkle in his eye, the joy he has in life. Dad was a shade tree mechanic. He worked in his father's gas station before being drafted for WWII. Most of the jobs he had later involved cars and their parts. He always carried baling wire and one of his solutions was a bigger hammer. Watching Paul and Ben on the test drive was watching two brothers carried back to day's in high school and the joy of burning rubber.
That was my favorite intro yet!!🤣✌️✌️ The contagious joy had me smiling!
Love how they laughed in sync! 🙂
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
About 18 min in you see the pure enjoyment ppl can get outta life. That's some memories that last a life time I bet.
This is the best video. I love these two brothers. Paul and Ben have so much fun. I am so happy for their mom being able to be near them and see their antics and tease with them. God bless you all. ❤️❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟❤️❤️
Now that's a burnout 👍
Man I wish I had the same connection with my brother as Paul and Ben.
I haven't chatted with my brother in years.
Had a few friends that were close as brothers, but I had to make a change in my life and I am unfortunately/fortunately on a different path in my life.
Thanks for letting me come along virtually.
The BEST example of brotherly love! So Awesome to see Paul and Ben test driving the 41! Good job Merlin making the ponies run!!
Work hard play harder. I laughed so hard at you two having so much fun! Y'all giving Hunter the itch for a fab rats approved burnout machine was great! Thank y'all for taking us along for such a wild ride!
That’s the most fun they have had in all of their vids.
Here you guys were saying the last video would put a smile on your face.
Paul's smiles in this video were the contagious kind, that thing is a ripper!
Never was a burnout guy but at 60+ watching you 2 having a blast I may just need to readjust my priorities 😉
Grandma has to keep a close eye on you because she knows you. Like a guardian angel.
Paul's reaction to the power priceless
I started watching Paul because he was building things from scratch. he reminded me of myself, he would have an idea and then build it. that concept has changed. its more about family and friend outings and buying things to bolt on. I learned different ways of making what I wanted to build. all of us don't have the funds or the desire to buy the things we want. It gives me more satisfaction to build it myself the way Paul used to. I would like to see more of that in the future. lets get back to the basics of fabrication.
It doesn’t get any better than that big old Smokey Burnout. Great video guys, Michelle does an awesome editing job as always.
You can't go too far wrong with a quadrajet. Loved seeing those secondaries open up. Adjusting the float level with the top off the carburetor is something I have done. Just be careful you don't lose the check ball from the accelerator pump! That segment should be labeled "don't try this at home, lots of things can go wrong".
The main problem with a stock Quadrajet is the bog when you first hit the firewall with throttle, I had that problem on my new 1970 GTO back in the day. The way I had it fixed was to put a new intake and a Holley dual pump, dual squirt, dual feed. Then when I ask for power, I got it right away, not later. The stock Quad is okay, but not the best for instant power.
@@dave_n8pu that was a common problem back in the day. I found the problem was the air valves (or butterflies) were not adjusted right. There is a spring tension adjustment which helped. But the CFM was still limited by the smaller primaries.
...and hope it doesn't backfire up through the carb. Instant Fire Pit! (ask me how I know...)
Hunter needs a small supercharger like that on the nova!
Guys you make me smile every time.
Two thoughts:
1. Pull the tires on the front for easier work access.
2. Splashy gas, for me equaled big fireball in my parent’s garage. That was a special moment.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That was the best burn out reaction yet. Watching that cab rock when you tapped on the throttle just makes smiles all around. Awesome job everyone.
Seriously, I felt like I was having just as much fun watching that but out!!! Well done!!! Thanks for putting a smile on my face
It's great to see Hunter getting some hands on.He has some good teachers.
I've never seen bedliner/under coating applied quite like that, pretty impressive!
Ben & Paul are Sooooo Very Talented !
Just a Pure joy to watch two Brothers together ❤️ ♥️
What a way you started my day love seeing your faces smile having fun thanks guys
The look of pure joy on your faces while doing that test rip was amazing!!!!
Great build, I'm sure Mary Pat is thrilled. Love watching both of you having so much fun!
The Grandma Lolly montage was very funny, she's the best shop supervisor, haha.
Loved the episode. Seeing Paul and his brother smiling ear to ear like that made my day❤❤❤
Paul’s face is like when my son first went on my bike. Shock and awe Love it
It is so cool to see Merlon on Motortrend! Nice burnout!
Find a way to bottle that feeling and from the look on your faces...you've cured depression. I know that feeling and you can't help but laugh and smile when the horsepower shows you who is in charge. AWESOME!
Inserts are a life saver. My brother and I love working on our jeeps together. Always a fun time. Brother and sister mechanics
This was the smile I needed today 😆
Thanks Fab Rats!
And thanks Merlin!
Watch this and you can instantly tell Paul and Ben love what they do!
"Don't sweat the petty things, just pet the sweaty things." 🤣🤣 Quote from a good friend of mine.
"Good ole quadrajet", words from someone who understands them and knows how to adjust them. One of the best carbs ever made. I have always run them on every one of my chevy engines until I had a 421 built and I had to break down and use a 850 holley per the builder's orders. He said my 780 cfm quadrajet, on my best 406, that I had used on the circle track for 5 years just wasn't big enough.
That's exactly how that truck should be. Great job!!! Merlin builds a heck of a motor🤘
I tell y’all what you know how to make a grown man smile 😁😁😁😁
A group of cool ass people & a bad ass grandma that knows what’s up & keeps these boys fed & inline . I still miss that Randal dude , most people have forgotten him already , not me . Keep on making burn out rides .
But one thing about it tho is you know who's talking even if you don't see him🤷♂️🤷♂️😁🤣
Not me! I was thinking of Randall during the previous video.
Ahh suuuure dooo miiiiss hiiiis waaaay of taaalkin'...........
Grandma is a hoot to meet. She's proud of her boys.
Y’all’s faces and simultaneous ear to ear grins then that infectious laugh! Two brothers having an absolute last together, I’m their build, gotta love it!
I've watched this 5 times and laughed every time. Seeing the genuine fun in both of
Y'all's eyes is heart warming. Love from Texas
That burnout was outstanding. Great work guys, keep up the work.
Awesome episode, the smiles on your faces on that test rip was priceless!!! Love the channel!
I love it! My dad had a 1941 Chevrolet pickup, I learned how to double clutch in when I was about 11 years old. Thank you for sharing the work you do and the smiles you bring. Much love and respect, God bless you all.
Paul's smile was so contagious I couldn't help myself but to feel the excitement he was feeling!
That was a Proper Burn-out!
Hey Paul no Bondo on the fender let Robbie take care of it... 😂
Paul and Ben have way too much fun. That's awesome. And Grandma is pretty cool.
Wheel RPM Is King...
So glad I have FINALLY Caught Up On All Your Videos...
Looking forward to sharing a bit of your life...
Now that is a proper burn out. Just seen to guys go back to their teens. Hunters reactions was awesome.
The sheer joy of horsepower!
I have watch every video y’all have submitted on youtube, and I must say, this was my favorite by far. I love all the builds, the eye cromiters, just making it all work. But to see the smiles on Paul and Ben's face make it the best! Smiles for days!! Love it! Keep it up guys.
Ben and Paul's reaction to the power and burnouts cracks me up! This reminds me of when I was a kid and enjoying the power of a hot rod with a friend! But now from the looks of those back tires I would say a trip to a tire shop will be needed soon, those tires look like Utah Maypops- as in 'they may pop soon"!
The scene where Ben has his head back laughing, Tire smoke billowing inside the cab and Paul has a massive grin - that righ there is the next Fab Rats Christmas card! keep it up boys!
Now SOMEBODY is gonna have to peel 5,000 miles worth of rubber off the back of the cab!! 👍🤣
Awesome truck burnout approved
17:19 is the exact reason I love watching you guys.
Man I wish I had a brother or even a buddy I could wrench on stuff with. I’m considering enrolling into a welding class but hard to get motivated with everything going on. Cherish these moments! God bless you guys :)
Two big kids and lots of big smiles !! I like the camera guy saying I gotta get me one !!
Good morning Rats!
Hey brother are you hunting with a 50 cal 😂
I saw that too and was like holy hell🤣
Could be something with a big varmint barrel on it. Like a 7mm-08 or something. Idk. Looked pretty big. They do have to take long shots out west sometimes.
@@jimmylarge1148 I know I was messing with him
Paul and Ben another awesome job
2 young boys having Fun, great to see!😀
Nothing quite like the whine of a cogged blower belt, and then when the secondaries on the Q-jet kick in - awesome! Those two guys grinning like a couple of teenagers, and then Hunter chimes in with "I gotta get me one!" Yeah, it was a good day at Fab Rats...
I found your channel a month or so ago from watching Matt's and I love it! But this week I had a minor eye procedure done and couldn't leave the house all week. Binge watching your channel from the beginning is all that's kept me sane! Keep up the good work, and I love the interaction you have with your family!
Seeing Paul's and Ben's BIG smile at the end, made the whole video! AWESOME man!!!
I love Grandma! She swings for the fences!!!
The smiles on both your faces says it all. Fun to be had in the future...congratulations
Great seeing a family so tight and sharing the adventures together. Good clean fun without all the drama.
Just hearing that giggle box spool up puts a smile on my face!!
Tonka toys for big boys! That’s what got me into the game. Buy em, bend em, fix em, drive em like you stole em! Big smiles!
that pure amazed delight expressions was priceless. Like 2 little boys doing something for the first time and being totally blown away by the result.
Big boys... big toys!! That 42 is totally awesome!!! Can't wait until it's all done... gonna be absolutely fantabulous!!!
Freaking awesome burnout!
Your welcome Grandma. That was probably my comment. Yes, she is very proud of her boys.
I was the guy that stopped by first thing in the morning in the motor home that was parked out on the street.
LOVE THE BURNOUT! That was Pure power and the joy on your guy's faces said it all!!! Keep up the awesome work. Love you all!
Grandma: Keep them boys in line!
I fell in love with this truck because it's featured in the junkyard scene in The Brave Little Toaster
I've always loved that film and finding out the models of the cars in that scene was really nice
Michelle, somehow it gets clearer and clearer. You are one tough angel.
I love grand Ma I love u all FABRATS FAMILY
Reminiscence of my youth when doodle bugs were country kids legal wheels, made me smile as well, brothers having fun !
Merlin is a BEAST!!!! His man trucks are absolutely awesome! He is a great cousin to have, guys!!!
