    Such great reactions from the spectators ♥. The first audience had a guy with an invisible short to go with the invisible deck!

    I seen it used for a pool trick. The player shuffled a straight deck and spread them all randomly face up around the pool table. Then he took one shot with the white ball and let it come to a rest after bouncing off the sides a few times. The card it was either touching or nearest to became a prediction. The rest is history.

    I'm not much a magician, but I will say I love magic, it's mind boggling to me in a lot of ways.
    I'm also getting way better at figuring out how you magicians do your thing as i watch your video tutorials.

    It's such a great trick. I know its best to only do tricks once but if I have to repeat, it doesnt get any less astonishing. The great thing being they can pick a different card and I can even ask, are they sure? and if they change their mind it looks like I have manipulated their minds.

      I got a $50 tip when I was challenged to do it again! He thought I had a stooge so he got a passer by to do it.

  • @kingrobert1st

    I never ask the spectator to tell me the card. That makes it to easy and even obvious. I liked the gag: Oh you put it in the wrong way round. Doesn't matter. It makes it easier to find! Another gag is to take nothing out of your pocket and say you have a very special deck of invisible cards and give them to the spectator to shuffle. When they start to shuffle suggest to them they should open the pack first. Also while they shuffle tell them to be careful not to drop one or they'll never find it. The possibilities are endless. I sometimes take out a red deck and a blue deck. I call this Morpheus's Choice (red pill and blue pill) red deck is straight and blue deck is Invisible. They select a random card from the red deck and reverse it in the pack. When you open the blue deck the same card is reversed. I don't know why I told you that. You're welcome!

    I think the Steve Bedwell trick was called "Shake, Shuffle and Twist", and the only place I could find info about it was on the "Conjuring Archive" website. -- P.S. I find it hard to do an invisible deck :( hopefully the light touch advice will work. Somewhere on the internet someone said make your own and don't "gaff the ends the the cards", - this helped ONLY a little. ----Thanks for all the awesome info !!! - I have retuned to magic after a 20 year break, and found it is a CRAZY different world with the internet. - thus I love sites like yours !!!

    Greetings and salivations. I spent a lot of time (but not 30 years) developing a pure sleight of hand version of Invisible Deck with a fair deck. It was never ready for prime time. One nice thing about a trick deck is that one can sell it to onlookers. Or maybe that's a sin.
    Edit: I just remembered that the clean-deck version involved the Road Runner cull, among other swindles.

    • @DougConn
      @DougConn  3 роки тому

      There are some good sleight of hand options...I still prefer the gaff (it’s the only trick deck I use)

    • @JiveDadson
      @JiveDadson 3 роки тому

      @@DougConnI had seen a couple of sleight of hand versions, but was not impressed. I am remembering more. In my try at it, deck was stacked in an inconspicuous way. There was a half-pass. Cob webs in brains.

    have a couple of these. some handling questions i have that i am gonna say in code (not revealing if u didnt). when you take out the deck you flip it and show a back. how? i thought it’s, you know. impossible to do that because of the even/odd upside down stuff. also if their card is near the end of the deck it’s problematic. so how u do it? also how do you get their card out of its hiding place so fast? i have to spread and then push it out which gives away part of the method. hope i didn’t reveal 2 much here but i need help with this thing. ppl love it when i do it but it needs work

    • @DougConn
      @DougConn  3 роки тому

      I keep a joker on top of the deck and as I’m removing the pack from the case, I glimpse to see which side is where... and sometimes I simply need to discard the joker (it’s a non moment)
      Regarding separating the cards... try using a very light touch (I’ve seen magi have probs by pushing too hard ) dry hands can be a hindrance (on cold days I have issues)
      As far as revealing cards at the ends of the pack... no real advice there, it is what it is
      Hope that helps!

      @@DougConn another question: is it better to present this as "I knew you would pick that one even though you had a free choice" or "I forced you to pick that one, let me prove it?"
