Since watching your beginner tutorial video, I now have made 2 jar terrariums. Although their start was very moldy, since then they seem to be doing just fine. One is in a closed cookie jar and one in a pickle jar with some plastic wrap as a lid. I think they are about 6 weeks old by now. Thank you for showing me this great new hobby. I am having a blast! :)
That is the most beautiful build I've ever seen! Very inspiring! Do you think similar build (with smaller ferns) but in a cubic jar with steel lid would work?
Do you have any videos explaining how you maintain your moss/ferns long term in containers before you make a terrarium? Do you just harvest from other well established terrariums you have? I want to get started collecting moss/ferns but unsure how to keep them until im ready to put it all together.
The best option is to use nature, nature is the best and the only one thing that can estabilish everything in harmony. I made terrarium from dirt from a forest like place, and 2 months after that i have jar with a lot of plants, moss. It's maybe not that beatifull, but it's nice to see how dirt turns into patch of green, then into small forest, this is beatifull, of course you can make your own ecosystem from your backyard plants, if they can survive the winter, they'll be perfect for terrarium
I am a new subscriber. I have a fish tank which has been sitting empty for years (I gave up on keeping aquarium fish). When I searched 'terrarium' on youtube, your channel was among those that came up. After watching some of your vids, I'm thinking it's doable... hehe... Congrats on the 100k subs.
I Think you should break down the leaves you trim, and put them back at the bottom of the terrarium, just to complete the cycle. If not, the nutrients the plants used to make those leaves will be lost, and you will have to compensate in the future with more nutrients for the soil. At least that's how I do with my terrariums
Thank you for 100k💚
Where can I buy garlic snails?
Thank you for the beautiful videos 🙏

Have you got any tips for building ecosystems, like your cherry shrimp one, on a budget?

im under the impression that the spring tails take dead plant matter and cycle it, creating nutrients? i imagine their own life cycle also adds

I hate to say it but when you say 'leak a instead of like a' it weirds me out.
Then don’t say it
