Thanks for the review and details on the bolt to battery.
Good no-nonsense review Chris. This rifle is a working hunter that would appear to do the job. Looking forward to the 243 version. Just wonder what it would be like at ranges over 300m?
I just bought one in 308 fantastic rifle
Really wanted to see you hit the fly
As a left handed I am veeeery happy 💯
Was lookin forward to this one. Thx a lot!
I have shot this Rifle in a Shooting Cinema last Year (there i normally dont shoot my own Rifle the whole Time cause 100 Shots in a Hour is not what i do to my Rifle), what can i say it is as you said a Rifle for Driven Hunts not more not less.
Great review Chris neat rifle like how you do your reviews very honest thanks for posting 👍👍
I have this rifle in 308 and it groups very well with all types of ammo including copper.
10:24 What is the accuracy like? Here in the U.S. we can get semi-auto rifles, so if it doesn't shoot like a precision bolt gun, I don't think there will be much interest in it here.
Thinking of buying the 308 for my first rifle. Thanks for a great video
Which do you prefer? This or the savage impulse straight pull? Does the proof research aid in preference? Which straight pull system is better if any difference?
I personally prefer the Impulse but mainly because ai have used a few of them without any issues and that cements confidence
@chrisparkin431 thanks for the response. I have the regular savage 110 ultralite and love that carbon barrel both for looks and function. I too have strung quite a few consecutive rounds without point of aim shift. I like the str8 pull for the ambidextrous function as I have lefty ajd righty grandchildren
Very good review! Now, if they would chamber it in 6mm Remington or 6mm creedmoor or my first choice 260Remington I would order one tomorrow morning. The straight pull and being able to change barrels in my opinion is priceless.
Look forward to your no nonsense reviews and value your information Chris, I’m deliberating between a Tikka Artic with Iron sights or the Beretta BRX1 chambered in .308 to hunt pig’s .. I’d definitely run an Aimpoint on the Beretta 🔴
Great review as always Chris. I don’t like the way the scope mounts. I’m surprised it keeps zero so well. The vast majority of straight pulls are used for Boar so would probably only have a LPVO fitted.
I have it in 300wm caliber and i love it!
Love the idea of it being quick change ambidextrous , straight back pull . As it is for the time being I'm a lefty living a rightys World 😊
A good review of an interesting rifle. I like the switch barrel feature and the price is more affordable than a Blaser R8. It would be good to see this come out in smaller calibres such as .243, 22-250 and .223. Given it is designed for driven boar hunts, I suspect that isn’t terribly likely. Here in Western Australia the government has floated reducing the numbers of rifles we can own. But what they have suggested initially is that one of those rifles can have multiple barrels. Hence my own interest in switch barrel options. Obviously with the current calibre options it is a bit over the top as a foxing rifle. Even so, I would be interested to see how it would go with thermal chasing foxes.
I'd love to see it accept ar mags for higher capacity
But have you looked at the craftsmanship of a Blaser R8 close up? Or the quality of wood they use! It's an apple to orange comparison.
I'm in Australia and ordered the .308
Still waiting for the extra barrels to hit the shelves. Hopefully they do a varmint profile barrel as well. Have one in 30-06 shoots great.
Great review!! Thanks
Being European I thought they’d offer it in 6.5x55 rather than CM.
@@shiraz1736 you are assuming they aren't planning to sell a lot more in the US than Europe. Creedmoor had acceptable availability everywhere
@@chrisparkin431 Na it would be a nice little promo for possibly the best all round cartridge the world has ever seen. You can still have that CM but I would have had the Swede as an option.
V. thorough as usual Chris and thanks for bringing it to us. Am waiting on it in .308 (Sika). I'm putting a 1" tube Swarowski 6x42 on it - what mounts do you recommend? And what ammo would you suggest ..... the ELDX looks just fine on those groups! (but i can't shoot like you unfortunately!!)
I came at this rifle with a pre-conceived notion of what I wanted it to be and was let down by it when I finally got my hands on it, on seeing this review, I was maybe too quick to dismiss it and should take a more open minded approach…
Thanks for the review Chris-actually quite nice and informative, like always.
I would like your choice between BRX1 and Haenel Jaeger NXT? Because both of them are linear pull, which feels more comfortable for you? Thanks
To pricey in Australia we are getting asked $2500+/- for this thing and it does not have the features or accuracy to justify it even though the straight pull is handy for pigs.
Hi Chris ...been reloading for this rifle .have it in .308... In a normal turn bolt stiff bolt life being a sign of pressure...in the Beretta stiff bolt open can be a problem.
Nice review. Was very interested, esp. as a left hand shooter, but an orange plastic magazine on a $1,500 USD rifle is a deal breaker for me. I'm sure it works fine, just can't get past it.
Thank you for sharing. Very unique
Hi Chris . Do you think it is aimed at the Blaser market as a cheaper alternative ? . I haven’t picked up a Brx but doesn’t seem to have the a smooth bolt action and maybe the finish . What’s your opinion?
It's nothing like a Blaser really and the videos I have made on both products go into detail as to why.
I'm sure it's an excellent rifle, as Beretta make excellent firearms. It looks like the bolt comes back farther than on a typical bolt action rifle though. I don't know how I feel about that.
I dont know did i miss it at the review but can this be easily loaded while magazine is in the rifle?
Keep ahold of the bolt handle with your thumb and index finger, then use your ring finger to pull the trigger. It'll make cycling so much faster and more efficient.
Hello, I would like to see the grouping in 300 win mag because I have never seen a test in 300 win mag
If you get the 300, I will source the ammo. I doubt there are any in the UK anyway as it's not a very popular rifle....yet?
thanks good videos@@chrisparkin431
I must say I like this offering from Berreta. To improve the ergonomics of the stock it would be great to have a height adjustable comb similar to Savage Impulse or something similar to the Blaser R8 and also have interchangeable hand grips like the Tikka T3x. "Better ergonomics leads to better shotting both at the range and in the field" is something to strive for in aspects of the shooting and hunting sport. Already thinking this rifle would be great to have with a GRS Bifrost replacement stock, love that handgrip and offset angle. Now back to your review. I do partially agree with your comments regarding thumbhole version for straight pull if you on a driven hunt only, in other scenarios the thumbhole is superior. I enjoyed shooting the Blaser R8 with my only issue being the lower part hand grip (similar issue when I shot the Sako s20), interchangeable hand grips would be the only improvement to R8 which to me is the "almost perfect" hunting rifle. The best simple handgrip from a factory in my humble opion thus far for me is actually from the CZ 600 Ergo, the best part of that stock. Hopefully you pass along genuine comments from subscribers and viewers as list to various manufacturers to improve their products for all shooters when you are finished testing various products.
Great review. I wanted to like it but when I got my hands on one, it just felt very cheap. Shame.
What scope are you using on that rifle?
Whats the moderator?
Whats it like without a suppressor? Every video its used with one but im in Australia and dont feel like doing 10 years in a confined space. Thanks
The same as any other gun in that chambering
Nice!
Will it come in 8,6BLK as an aftermarket kit?
Ask Beretta
Is the finish blued or cerakoted?
Blued
Hi Chris
What chronograph were you using
Thanks
Alan
Fx radar, see my channel for video
Can you check rate of twist on 6.5 CM? Website states 1:10 but that can't be right, right?? Never seen that caliber slower than 1:8 and I can't imagine 1:10 will stabilize half or more of the factory loads. I really appreciate if you can run a cleaning rod and get an approximation for us. Thank you!
The rifle is long gone, I suspect 1:10 is a mistake on the website
Shows 1 in8 on the web now
Hi lads....having some issues with my brx1....the safety is engaging when I fire and cycle the bolt back before chamfering another rd .anybody seeing anything similar
I have seen this mentioned elsewhere, so you are not the only one.
@JackManiacky hi pal...any links to were this was mentioned....mines currently away getting looked at..am wondering what Beretta is gona come back with
@@georgemcateer2854 well looks like you are the only one. I went back through my watch history and it was your comment from another youtube channel. Good luck with the fix.
It was called back by beretta
I have one. It's a good rifle but the stock is crap..
I actually thought the stock was a lot better than I expected on a budget rifle, decent length of pull and rigid through the forend
The LOP is good, especially after I took one spacer out. Other than tha, it's a typical cheap and nasty polymer stock. Id pay another $500-700 for a carbon Fibre stock and then it would be so much better and yet still cheaper than a Blazer The weight reduction would be well worth it as well. Also It's not really a budget rifle.

Very Nice '' 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Hi, what is your opinion about the trigger quality?
Watch the video
Has to be the most gimmicky shit I have ever seen right next to the savage.
......oh no,....more beretta junk......poor copy of a blazer & no blazer fanboy here, Merkel made the only straight-pull ever worth anything.....2nd shot could barely get the bolt open.....lol
Poor copy of blazer blah blah blah
Why are you reviewing a rifle with a suppressor on it? 99% of the people who might want this rifle do not have a suppressor. I will never own one due to the ridiculously high price of them & the cost of the NFA tax stamp to own one. A suppressor should not cost $600.00 to $1000.00 for something that probably cost $100.00 to make. Your review is not accurate with that on the end of the barrel.
They are commonly used here and not expensive so it's a realistic setup, I cant help other country's restrictions
LOL
it’s almost like he isn’t in the USA!
Fwiw as an American that does own suppressors I quite like that one of the hundreds of reviews of this gun coming out included the use of one.
99% of the European Hunters use a Suppressor
In many other countries suppressors are unregulated and affordable. Damn near 100% of people around me use suppressors.
This is such a goofy comment. You can find decent suppressors for 400-650. If you make 1k a week, just set aside 25 per week/100 per month. After 6-8 months you can afford one. Especially with these fast approval times, there’s no reason not to. Plus, other countries exist. Also, they cost more than $100 to make. You need to pay for tooling, labor, quality control, and the logistics of shipping them. Not to mention insurance for your company. And that’s assuming you don’t have other overhead like leasing the building you’re operating out of.
1:38 Poor marksmanship.... you missed the fly three times. 🪰
Cheers.
You don't see the flies at 100 metres when concentrating on shooting a group for a review video
@@chrisparkin431 I can only infer you're not an adept of shooting on the fly... 🙃
@@zachariaszut I can only assume you spend long summer afternoons with a magnifying glass burning the legs off insects
@@chrisparkin431 That sounds like an eery confession... anyway, you have a rather interesting channel here. I'm having a rather busy day, nothing to do with Entomology though, and when I'm hipped with work I develop sometimes a rather bizarre sense of humour. I hope I have not inconvenienced you with it.
I discovered your channel when you reviewed the MAUSER 18 Fenris. I've been subscribed since then. Cheers.
