I was on board with the album from the get-go; as a pop fan, I was in love with it. Considering I didn't (and don't) personally know Taylor as a person, I was able to enjoy her music without feeling guilt about it.
@@OpticalSorcerer Having listened to it recently, it’s honestly not that bad. My only complaint is the production. I’m not crazy about EDM to begin with, but it combined with Taylor’s vocals just does not go together imo. It’s one of the few albums I can think of where the live version sounds better than the studio version
@@brandonjohnson633 I'm a fan of EDM, so it was fun for me, but I can understand your feelings about that. I've heard some singers do EDM for the first time, and they haven't really gotten a grip on how to make it complement their voice.
Came for the winx content stayed for the taylor content. I hope that one day you can do the big Evermore video ( u teased it in some video) like the one u did for Folklore cuz Evermore deserves all the love it can get as taylor kinda be ignoring it. Also ...Ready for it & the 1>>>>
my ranking: 10. I Forgot That You Existed 9. ...Ready For It? 8. Lavender Haze 7. Mine 6. Welcome To New York 5. willow 4. the 1 3. Tim McGraw 2. Fearless 1. State of Grace
Is it just me or Mine never felt like an opening track? Mine gives me perfect track 2 vibes. The opener should've been Sparks Fly. It was the opener for Speak Now Tour. It was written in Debut era and originally it was meant for Fearless so i think start the album with a song that was supposed to be on Fearless would be a perfect goodbye with old era and start of new era. Also the production and overall vibe just screaming Opening Track! And i think even genre-wise Sparks Fly is introducing all sides of this album: country, pop, rock.
DEBUT SLANDER But seriously debut took many casual listens and a video essay about Taylor's EARLY career before I developed any sort of endearment towards the album
I'm not the biggest swiftie. I'm extremely casual. But she does remind me of how Michelle Branch was one of her biggest idols that she met at some point. Even covering All You Wanted at Michelle's homestate of Phoenix. I miss her, man. Like Olivia Rodrigo, she was ANOTHER half-Asian American pop rock chick in her late teens who ALSO released HER debut single about romance that became the biggest hit of her career, which was just 20 YEARS PRIOR!!! Not to mention, she ALSO paved the path for other pop rock teen artists to follow, including Avril a year later! She's the only Asian American music act I can think of who crossed over between pop, country, rock and adult alternative charts. And I just finished listening to what should've been her 2010 follow-up album West Coast Time and it sounded like we were robbed of hearing her natural evolution into a music vet. Imo, talent means nothing to have a successful career if you don't have just as strong of a management team. Taylor should bless her lucky stars she has one.
My opening track rankings (don't kill me): 10. Welcome to New York (1989) 9. I forgot that you existed (Lover) 8. Tim McGraw (Debut) 7. Lavender haze (Midnights) 6. Fearless tv (Fearless tv) 5. Willow (evermore) 4. Mine tv (Speak now tv) 3. ...Ready for it? (Reputation) 2. The 1 (folklore) 1. State of Grace (tv) State of grace will always be that girl I ain't sorry..
Fun fact the first time I ever heard Mine like really first I'm hearing it is when I was watching Glee. When Santana singing to Brittany I fell in love with the song.
"Me! is not that bad" Im so happy we're finally at a place where we can admit this. Like guys i get it isnt some sort of masterpiece but people are way too angry.
I really love all your stuff. I wish you’d one day do a video on miraculous ladybug, cause I wanna hear what you think about it. But your Taylor swift videos are my favorite
this channel is heaven for me as both a winxer and a swiftie ✨

As someone who was around for the reputation era, a video about its reception when it first came out compared to now would be interesting.

As a pop fan, I'm so excited for her version of 1989, her first "proper" pop album. Reputation is the only album that succeeds it for me.
So glad that I have your Taylor Swift content since I definitely can't go to the Eras tour. 😭
Tim McGraw at last is a crime:((
And fucking Welcome To New York is somehow first 😭

Ngl, Taylor’s albums getting Taylor’s Version one by one kinda reminds me of the Winx getting Enchantix one by one
Lovedddd the vid but when does the next winx season 3 documentary come out ?! Have been waiting for ages 😭
