A young cardfighter, Kamui Katsuragi, heads towards Card Capital in order to become the strongest cardfighter. Kai nominates Aichi, who happens to be at the shop, to fight Kamui.

I love how Kai is a lot more supportive and positive towards Aichi rather than becoming what is essentially a Sasuke clone, plus Emi's personality in this series feels a lot more adorable to me personally and Kamui's feels less obnoxious and if I had to be honest, this level of ego is one that is actually fitting of his age..
I like that too with Kai in this, since deep down, it's him starting to let go of that feeling of being the "Solitary Fighter", and how meeting Aichi and having such a great battle with him allowed him to open his heart again, given his past and all. Chalk it up to what the manga has been doing for this buildup.
Kai is once again all smiles this episode. Like, he's enjoying Aichi's company and watching him grow as a cardfighter.
Let's hope that Kamui can finally tell Emi his feelings in this reboot

Another thing I love about this reboot is Kai and Miwas relationship. Kai is more talkative and teasing with Miwa, unlike the previous cv where he is just quiet and Miwa does most of the talking, or he just brushes off Miwa to be emo and broody.

I was happy when they mentioned that they'll be basing the Reboot off the Manga. Cause I read it myself and Kai acts a bit softer around Aichi while Miwa stands out more than just being a side-character. It's pretty fun seeing how their true personalities show in this Reboot.

I did and for next week, I think, it is going to be green because of Misaki.
1) Misaki is a boss, dealing with kamui like that.
2) Glad emi's more prominent earlier on , and hope she sticks around more -and eventually gets Яeversed- and beats Ren, Misaki and Kamui.

It's so interesting to see how Kai's personality on the manga and reboot is completely different than his personality in the original first season. I haven't read the manga but it kind of feels weird for me to see Aichi win on the third episode and already had a few grade 3's alongside Alfred Early.
My sugar level is raised up after watching this episode. Emi was too much cute than was she was in original series. Damn you Bushiroad, how the hell can you created that cutie?

You've nailed it. The pace of the battles is borderline Vanguard G, but you made sure to clarify any and all rules that come up. Love the animation and the finer details like having the units talk! This is an amazing remake and I cannot wait to not only watch the rest, but get back into Vanguard once the Trial Decks drop in English!

I really like how they're handling this show now. They took out a lot of the corny stuff from the last version and they're actually showing us the fights again (unlike G, at least when I watched). This reboot is exciting all around.

To be honest, this Cardfight Vanguard V-Series anime looks far more good than Cardfight Vanguard first season and G series. The art, the music, everything's improving.

God I love how the facial expressions are drawn. Sooo much more consistent than OG season 1. Plus they're a lot more similar to Itou's art style, which is always a win.

I love how they actually have full sets of a card in their deck, and even the real starter decks come with four ofs, unlike Yugioh or Magic starter decks that come with one or two of a card. It's like they actually know how to build a decent deck!

Love this new animation and art direction, the variation of the thickness of the lines really makes dramatic scenes pop and all the characters look gorgeous. Very excited to see the rest of the V-Series.
Everyone, what if when the English dub is out and the ending song will be sang via by the English voice actors? Would you like to hear that? English Aichi and English Kai sang the ending song?!

This is a great beginning to the day and the way thecharacters look and are is awesome. I can't wait to see the personality of everyone else
So...a couple of things:
First, in the original, it was established that Aichi wasn't actually all that good in the beginning and through the series we saw him develop his skills as he went along. I am REALLY hoping that the reboot doesn't give Aichi plot armor. We see enough of that with Buddy Fight. =_=
Second, it's kind of weird to see Kai in this episode. If I remember correctly, his presence in the original was a rarity at the card shop - I guess this means he's a regular now in the retelling? It's also unusual that he's already so supportive of Aichi, their relationship has changed - it had always been somewhat of a mentor/student relationship, but in the previous iteration I feel like he had more of a rivalry as well. Here, that doesn't feel like the case. I do suspect that this retelling will allow us to see more of what Aichi sees in him, though (It always felt before that Aichi had just been idolizing Kai and wasn't actually seeing him for what he truly was). This change, however, I do like. ^ ^
I appreciate that the rearguards appear to have personalities and that they can interact with the players, it makes it feel like they actually are projecting themselves onto Cray. (I mean...they actually are, but...you know what I mean. >.

Good episode, liking the the battle flow. Interesting how they are putting Kai in a mentor role rather than just either avoid aichi or spurt out one or two words of support to bring him out of depression. Was okay with aichi winning the match but hoping Misaki takes the win next week.
Aichi will likely win again, since he wins in the manga.
Well i guess if it feels like a good back and forth match it should be ok. At least its better than G where Chrono just won by attacking without displaying the skills of the clan.
Also the Card Slice is already making it a good episode.

Yes guys, Aichi has a grade 3 unit. Weird, it's almost as if he is trying to get COMPETENT at the game he wants to play with all his might. I always found Weird in the original how he semingly built a deck without having a single g3. And to those who are accusing already to going the Mary sue route
1) It's only episode 3 jeez guys, give it a chance. So far everything is in line with the manga.
2) What is sacky-er, pulling 2 triggers in the whole game or getting your one grade 3 card exactly when you need it?
And let's be Clear, if this actually Goes to the Mary sue route, Then I will be with you complaining. But to me it feels premature to judge on ep 3
