Nothing like a david brown they are great old tractors. We have a 1200 selectamatic bought it new in 1967 its a great pulling and very good riding tractor very smooth in the field.

Best part is the DB990. I believe you got a 1968 or 1970 tractor here. It has over 50 years. Mine is a Selectamatic 880 year 1967 and I'm on process to finish the restoration job. Nothing's close to a David Brown. Those are very strongly made farm tractors... from UK. Congrats in keeping it alive AND in such a good shape !

I agree with you 100 percent I still have my father's that we got new in 1969 it has done at least 15000 hours that we know of the hydraulics have never been touched and it still starts super easy on a freezing cold day and of course always gives sensational fuel economy

I have 1975 David Brown 995 seltcromatic. I bought it for I000 Irish pounds about 1400 US dollars at time 1988. I have used it ever since. It has had routine new parts a number of times. I changed to an alternator and high speed starter. It is very slow on the road. The paint has rusted badly. I always keep it inside. I don't know hours, it is on its 3 or 4th tach. The only time it ever broke down was when the fuel lift pump arm broke metal fatigue. The cab is rusted out. When I bought it, it was a big tractor and neibours borrowed it. Now their sons consider it too small for any work.

David Brown is a tractor you either love or hate. I've always loved them. Y'all have a nice spot over there in Tennessee. Hey from North Carolina.

People that hate David Browns usually don't have a clue about them

Yes it's haymaking time again. I'm in north east Ohio and started last week and believe that's the earliest I've ever been able to do it. It''s been really hot and dry so without the rain it hasn't been humid. Great video, thanks for sharing!

Just found your channel tonight, great video, very informative. Have you ever picked up a snake in a bale of hay? You had some awesome shots of the East Tn hills, I think we got just about the prettiest hills anywhere.

Nice tractor and mower and stand of crop. You should adjust your tires to match our mower width. That will keep you from smashing your crop into the ground and or, knocking you4 leaves off the crop.

The wheels actually clear, the only time I run over the crop is on corners or the first pass

First hay sure came early here in Arkansas. I could have cut hay 2 weeks ago if the weather was right.

Those levers did not look like joysticks.
Joysticks operate two hydraulic cylinders each.
Those looked like single-cylinder levers each.
I have always preferred joysticks over single function levers on loaders, backhoes, excavators, 3 point scrapers, etc.

Just started watching your UA-cam. We cut a lot of hay and have a disc mower basically the same set up. When our blades get dull we flip them over and use the other side. Then when that side gets dull we change to new blades. Can yours not be flipped over?

Having good neighbors is nice, the clown that is in front of me moved here from California and drives trucks, he asked the three of us that share the driveway easement if he could use it for his truck, and he was told no. So what did he do? He drove on it and my property and when I told him to stop he threw a fit and doesn't talk to any of us, which is fine by me. We he is showing how much of an ass he really is as he parked 7 tractor trailers along the property line of my place and one neighbor making a trailer fence, and I guess he is expecting someone to complain, mainly me. I've played this game before and pulling this stunt will only attract unwanted attention from someone because he is not zoned to store trucks and trailers like that.
