I am sitting again in my Garage in Switzerland, preparing to organize all materials to bring down to Spain, where they kicked me out in the midst of working on the hard, on my old Sailboat. I want to sail back to Vancouver, solo. My Sailboat, a 33ft Long Keeler with Center Cockpit is alrady full and loaded. A lot of work I will do under Sail. I cannot stand another Lockdown! There are many Stress factors, but watching you 2, and especially this episode in which you 2 are telling so openly and with trust to WHY is simply just wonderfull! You ate so much giving me, us all, that even we will never meet, YOU 2 are so much in my hearth. You truly belong to those Humans who enrich this Planet. I commend you and bow my Head in your honor and Legacy. THANK YOU BOTH from the bottom of my heart. Andy, Sailing Vessel Bijoux.

I agree. You really are benefitting more people. You will encourage others to follow your foot steps. The world is a better place because of you. Those business execs don't really contribute much of anything to society. They are mainly making themselves rich at the expense of other people's hard work. You are doing the hard work and having fun doing it. That's what life is really about.

Great to see you in all black snorkel gear in this video.... shiny (white top) and pink cap as seen in the last few videos is cute, but to a large predictor, it can seen like a wounded fish. Stay safe kids! I am enjoying catching up on your adventures. Thank you for sharing your story!

Well I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed those 50 episodes sat here at Christmas with the dreaded COVID. Never been sailing (living next to the Solent I probably should have) but love adventure and love Australia. I’ve just binge watched from the beginning, now I’m looking forward to the next 50 and more episodes. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. Thanks for sharing 💙💙

I'm delighted to help with my small donations. I learn so much from you as I prepare for my much less adventurous life continuously cruising the British canal system on my 38' narrowboat. I've lived on her for nearly two years now, but am marina based (although I've been out seven times this season). At 65, it's quite a big jump, but it's my dream :-)

congratulations on ep50. your videos are always outstanding. I do believe Troy and Pascal that you both have found your calling as explorers educators and teachers. way better than slaving away in a legal office or down in the mines or in someone else's bilge. you have truly affected the way I think about the world and it's oceans traveling big and leaving a small footprint is the way to go. Thanks for sharing with us.

I know you can't think about this all the time so thanks for the recognitions you are doing. I would like to say thanks for showing so much about Australia shores and seas and all of your sailingcraft. If I ever sail know that I will be using what you have recorded. If I were sailing I think I would stay with australia. Love you guys. I love your classic monohull in basic 30 odd footer. What a good old girl she is!

I totally know that filming your show takes a bunch of time, it's difficult to run for the camera when things get exciting, or hectic, but I really appreciate it. (Especially liked the candid talk after the wild 16hr run. Hard part of cruising experience to convey to someone with little experience, who wants to have an idea what to hey are getting Into.)
Your show is seriously better than 99% of the junk on t.v. these days.

A bubbler is a couple of special lures with wings connected to each other that are on a line drug behind the boat about a third of the distance of your actual lures with hooks. They flop around and cause a lot of bubbles to be formed and attract fish who perceive it as a bait ball. Then they are ready to strike and their is your lure with hooks that they hit. Sort of a timing thing. Thus how far behind the boat is important and takes some adjustment.

Happy 50th! Hey, Troy, I sense you were completely disgusted at time during this passage what with the already occupied anchorage at the Cod Hole, discovering the damaged coral on your dive, and the snarly weather. Bet Pascale wasn't feeling much better. I also sense, Troy, that you would rather Captain a larger boat. Here's an idea: There are a few minimalist cruisers out there who would like to downsize. Why don't you propose a trade with one of these guys either on-line or in one of the cruising mags. You might make a great deal with one of them! Then the whole world will be at your command! Cheers, Jim M. Texas

I think getting to live a life that is beneficial to ourselves and others is a gift, a blessing if you will. I watch your channel because you live a life I got to experience for a short time. I miss it terribly. Alas, I am back home, in the workforce, etc. You are able to provide for yourselves by giving us memories of lives once lived, or lives dreamed of for the future. So, ask away. This is a symbiotic relationship. You get your life through giving us videos. We get a bit of your life through paying for the videos. Quid pro quo. If I had any extra money in the budget, I would contribute. I just feel blessed to be able to see your videos free of charge. You can hardly get TV for free anymore, at least where I live. Watching real life is much better than TV anyway. Glad you spent time with Meg. She's a dear. Glad you know each other. I wonder if you've ever met or spent time with the family from LIfe Nomadik. I think you'd get on well. Love from North American Sailing Mama

You both make a very valid point about how many people you actually help/educate/entertain. We've all been in those corporate jobs where you know your just making money for a few shareholders with little reward other than a paycheck. I was fortunate to be running leadership training in a few big organisations, and I actually got to see the results and how people developed as a result. I knew I was making a difference. Troy and Pascale you both make a difference and should be so proud of what you have achieved. You really do have the right formula with Free Range Sailing.

Have you tried a Rapala X-rap Magnum ? They run super deep, swim perfectly right out of the box and have great hooks. The bib looks like its moulded with the body so they are suer tough and the shiny bits are under a deep layer of clear plastic so it doesn't rub off too quick. I always tow a Halco 190 and a X-Rap magnum (silver blue mackerel is my fav colour) side by side. Ninety percent of the time the X-rap gets smashed first but I think the noise from the Halcos ball bearings brings them in.

Agree with the other comments about the awesome video. Not sure where it is, but there seems to be a fine line somewhere out there in u-tube world where authenticity and sincerity become eroded by popularity and success. Maybe that line extends beyond the virtual world into the real world? Fortunately IMHO you're still on the 'right' side of that line! Fair winds...

Like we said in the video, we could make plenty of money in a few months but we do this for the satisfaction it brings to pass on our life lessons. It's like we are creating our own community.

You are indeed creating a "community", and a damned fine one at that!

Another awesome episode. Sorry to read of the extra work and extra costs ... as a boat owner, no surprise there! I’ve just increased my Patreon subscription per video, as a mark of greatest respect for what you do and how you do it. Thank you! Go well ... Roy
