3 Reasons Why I'm NOT Buying the Zhiyun Crane 2

- I just wanted to create an HONEST video to possibly help beginners who really want to invest in a gimbal, but not break the bank, but feel that they HAVE To break the bank to get the latest model. I LOVE, absolutely LOVE all of Zhiyun's products and am in no way advocating that the Crane 2 is not a great piece of gear. Just encouraging creators to start "somewhere" and stay within budget.

Before you hit the thumbs down (LOL) please listen to my points. I actually love the Crane 2. Used it briefly and was jealous. Haha. However, this message speaks to the "need" of it if you really have a gimbal that is getting the job done with your current camera...ESPECIALLY when you are on a tight budget. Future proof gear is a myth. By the time the future gets here there will be another piece of technology out. #facto
Great info! Thanks for sharing!
Those reasons sound very reasonable to me brother , I have to do the same thing to myself sometimes I find myself wanting every new thing and I have to think about , will it help my videos that much sometimes the answers no and if its yes then I have to ask myself will it help 750 dollars worth
Ol and we have the same last name , we kin lol
good stuff man
Thanks you made good points.
Good info to know bro. Appreciate it. Now I have a better idea what to shop for.
Damn this video just saved my pockets! Lol
I sure was thinking I need the Crane 2 because I have a t7i, then I realize the price of the crane 1.
As a beginning film maker I don’t need the greatest expensive products right now.
Appreciate it bro
Well said👌🏾
Hey man, I liked your video, suscribed, it was a great quality video and very good info. Thanks
David Paima thanks man. It's appreciated. More to come after April 15

My 1st video of yours I've watched. Thanks for the info. Will check more of your content! 💯🔥📷
What pictures profile do u use on the a6300?
#85filmz #85filmz I don't own the A6300. I have the A6500. I use cine4 and s-log 2. I use s-log 2 mostly when I have a lot of light because it has to be overexposed.
Do you have a link to buy the first version. that you have now??
Josue Hernandez not sure if it's still being sold, however version 2 is being sold (not the Crane 2, but version 2) and the link is in my description.
Josue Hernandez I would get the Plus for the 6D. Maybe even the Crane 2 depending on the weight of the largest lens you will use on it in addition to the camera weight of course. I don't own a Canon so I don't know those stats but definitely check the weight. And I can definitely do a video on sharpness for u. Thanks for the sub.
I have bought Zhiyun crane 2 only because of Cheap wireless Follow focus and Handled Follow focus system.. The Follow focus is just like butter and amazing. For me , Without a controlled follow focus, gimbal is not attractive. Zhiyun crane 2 is like a small steadycam.
Jmca Cinema nice!!!! I'm glad you are enjoying it. I just got the Sigma 18-35mm which is a bit heavy. So I just might be buying it as well :-)
I was thinking wouldn't it be smarter to buy for the future for when you do want a bigger camera
MontyVisuals thanks for the comment. You are right, for some it might be worth doing that. For me, nah. But like I stated at the end of the message at this stage in my career I'm not currently going to invest in it. It holds my mirror cameras fine. Honestly if I was to get a bigger camera, I would get a Ronin. Lol
Marcus Robinson this got me thinking because currently I have the g7 and my friend has some canon I originally was gonna get the v2 because its the perfect fit for my camera but then I figure once i start getting more clients in and get the option to buy a better camera I don't have to worry bout the pay load. I would get the ronin but I hear how its not always best for every situation like weddings and live events because how big it is so I think the crane would be better plus you can always make it more stable and versatile with the handle bars
MontyVisuals it all depends on what a "better camera" is to you. It's all personal preference. Each job has and needs a tool and we all use difference cameras and tools. Camera size and lens size will determine what you are going to rock with. If I was flying the A7Sii and the Sony 24-70mm I would definitely get the Crane 2 or a competitive brand if it performs better. If get jobs where I rent out bigger cameras in which case I wouldn't be using a handheld gimbal anyways...but rather a Glidecam or Ronin. But definitely get what you feel you would need to today's job and jobs months from now.
I literally got the crane 2 today.
I got it now too. Lol!!!! Time for another video!!! 😂😂😂
me too and i love it!! We should make a fanpage 😂😂
I bought it for 450 and it's the real one... I kinda tricked the support tho 😂😬
Have a gimbal that works and makes you happy? Don't upgrade
Don't have a gimbal or you're ready to trash the one you have? Get the Plus ;)
Definitely! Unless you have a larger payload.
I want to buy a gimbal; which one will be the best value for money!
Shiba it really depends on your budget and what type of camera you are using with it. They are all pretty good but which is "better" is subjective. I would personally wait for the DJI Ronin S to come out. But like I shared, if you have a small mirrorless camera, there is nothing wrong with the Zhiyun Crane v1 or v2. They are both inexpensive and WORK!
Marcus Robinson
U r right man, dji ronin s is coming, thanks for your information!
