I'm really late to the party on this but I'm feeling nostalgic of family river trips, as a kid we had a place in Cottonwood cove, a flash flood hit (early 70's I think) family friends were renting out mobile home and the father lost his life in the flood trying to save neighbors, he was never found, Cottonwood cove was basically wiped out. We got kicked out of CC for renting the place out so we bought a mobile home in Searchlight and had to make the drive to the water, both my parents are gone now, thanks for the visuals, my memories of the area are bittersweet.
Lake Mojave - 67 miles from Davis Dam to Hoover Dam! Driven boats & Jet Ski's from Katherine's Landing to the bottom of Hoover Dam many times back in the river days! Hope you don't pass up the old ghost town of Nelson!
Your a hoot and yes you are being watched. On wide screen I feel I am riding along. Gee did that place ever have the house boats. Nice clean area to hang out at. Gosh the land scape surly does change. Safe travels and do take care. Thanks!
And as you're going down into the marina you're going to see the upper campgrounds to your right but if you follow the road around to your left you will see the lower campsites there's two different campsites up there down there
Kept a boat and motor home there for 15+ years. Biggest problem there is the wind and waves. You need a boat that can handle both, or you're going to spend a lot of time sitting on the beach. It's the best place I ever found to get away from the crowds !
Thank you Russ for this review. I have lived in Vegas for 21 years, and have not been to Cottonwood Cove. Although many have said it is good. Thanks again.
Lake Mohave is a wonderful place. Unlike Lake Meade which is the upper lake, Mohave stays full. Meade is depleted and very low as Vegas uses the water. I love this place. Thanks Russ for the video.
Wow you took me back to my days of fun in the sun. RV park was called Kathrens Landing ? Would love to go back and do it all again. I avoid the sun these days. Thank you so much. 😎
The best onion rings I ever had were at the restaurant here. This was always my destination when visiting Bullhead. I also came down here after launching at Willow Beach up north towards Lake Mead. They have a nice little beach area over by the condos. Water was great. Love Lake Mohave.
Russ, i have been following you for some time and I love your videos....I have been to many of the places you are visiting with the family in our RV....Katherine’s landing is nice too. We spend a lot of time in Brenda AZ in the winter riding ATvs....I still work but go as often as we can...Keep up the great work
As you're driving down to the marina if you keep your eye on to the mountains on your left hand side you will see an old mining hole that's been there for years as you're leaving searchlight going down into Cottonwood Cove if you keep your eyes to the right on top of the mountains you're going to see a house that was originally built from one of the members that used to live there at Cottonwood Cove in the marina he built it for his wife up on top of the hill it's abandoned now they both have passed
That is a very nice place. Wow. Wouldn’t mind renting a household one time to check it out. Are you not allowed to fly the drone in a park like that? Safe travels Russ. Cheers!!!
Derek Cottonwood Cove if you see the restaurant that's the original restaurant but they just redid the inside the stores new the ice house is the original and the hotel is the original and the post office is original I've been going to Cottonwood Cove for 59 years and love it
past the store and small motel is a beach, great place to go swimming and fishing is great, just make sure you kill them before leaving, if not the if caught they will give you a big ticket...it is something mixing fish from different areas. Oh yes you are watched,,,,I loved going there. don't forget Good Coffee in Searchlight , at the restaurant on the right , was all you can drink for 10 Cents where I was there, and the food is great, and slots and bar...enjoy and Thank You for the memories.
Okay those trailer that you see on your right hand side is you coming down those are personal people's trailers that go there during the certain time of the seasons and those boats that you saw are also theirs those are personal water crafts for the people that live there if you go down to the marina down the docks you can rent boats from Cottonwood Cove they have all kinds of oats
Great video but you missed so much. The first right dirt road after the pay station is powerline road. Right off the paved road there is a cool cemetery that has both people and pets. Go a little further and turn left will lead you to six mile cove. A really cool place to boondock. We spent two weeks there about three weeks ago. Camp right on the water. A bit windy but lots of kite surfers to watch. Also 3 vault toilets. Great in winter but looks super busy in summer. Back on the main road, The upper campground is closed but has a dump station but no fresh water. down near the store and marina on the far left is the entrance to the lower campground which is open and has water. Just choose a faucet that is blue and warns against doing your dishes! One last tip. Buy your ice in searchlight, it's $9 for 10lbs at the marina.
I bought my Park senior discount card when it was only $10 for a lifetime. My GF got it just before the raise in price. I think you missed the actual RV park at Cottonwood Marina which is at the other end of the marina. I went there last year and it is in need of a lot of work. We stayed at Willow Beach which is not very far from there on the Arizona side of the river. It is a much nicer park as it was recently remodeled. The staff stays on top of things there to keep the riff raff out.
Bingo... I know where you are going! Yes Sir! Do a live feed from there and you will be a hero! Friend of mine lives around there and says it is already begun! Better yet come back to bullhead and grab me! Awesome.
I asked on another video but I am not sure you responded.. what happened to your trailer? I know you spent a lot of time and money building it out and it is really cool. I know a trailer would reduce your gas mileage and flexibility but I would want the extra comfort and night and early morning. Curious minds want to know :)
Ha ha! Why the lizard photo at end of video? Think UFO peeking at you? Rainy, ugly here in N. IL, looks warm & sunny on West coast. Someone really watching out there? Creepy
It's awesome there.from searchlight to the coves.
2013 LEEDS built a new marina. Should get certified next year. It all recycled material.
Boating on Lake Mojave is incredible, good fishing and water clarity down to 20' deep.
First comment. Beautiful country, great people, Superpower...Long live US

RU JEEPN We did the same thing several years ago from Katherines landing to the dam....great ride
Your a hoot and yes you are being watched. On wide screen I feel I am riding along. Gee did that place ever have the house boats. Nice clean area to hang out at. Gosh the land scape surly does change. Safe travels and do take care. Thanks!
Spent my summers there throughout my childhood. Family would leave the RV and boat there for quick trips from LA. Lots of fond memories.
Water-skied Lake Mojave when I got out of USAF 1976 during Labor Day weekend. Great fun.

November should be a nice time at the Camp ground. What a nice little place. And that water is so inviting.
Lake Mohave is a wonderful place. Unlike Lake Meade which is the upper lake, Mohave stays full. Meade is depleted and very low as Vegas uses the water. I love this place. Thanks Russ for the video.
Love the desert landscape
Wow you took me back to my days of fun in the sun. RV park was called Kathrens Landing ?

Katherine's Landing is a separate Marina closer to Laughlin and Bullhead City.

What....no Zen moment?? LOL!
There's a lot going on along the Colorado River, and it's been going on for a LONG TIME!

Years ago I was on my way to Vegas, I stopped and fished Lake Mojave, have no idea where I launched the boat.

Hey Russ, just wondering if you could say what the temperature has been or is during you drives? Maybe you do and i just miss it.. keep on trucking
Watch out for those alien secret weapons!! LOL! Thx!
What over 65 discount card are you talking about?? Never heard of one before.
👋😊
What kind of senior card did you use to get into the park? And, where do we get one at?
Bingo... I know where you are going! Yes Sir!
Do a live feed from there and you will be a hero!
Friend of mine lives around there and says it is already begun!

Awesome.
Courtesy of Harry Reid (RET Senator from Searchlight), probably.
The shoreline and surrounding area if FULL of trash!! This is really a sad state of affairs. From a distance it's beautiful.

There was a time you didn't have to pay to get to Cottonwood Cove
I got a geezer card.
Area 51 how close?😊
When I used to go there swimming there BLM fee didn't exist. ..If you go on the other side of the Motel, the beach is Volcanic Sand...
Russ, are you gonna Storm Area 51???
Stay tuned .... next video
👍👍👍🛠🛠🇨🇦

Watch out, you are being watched by a strange being.
