I've certainly never seen anything like this happen in a horse race! Many times I've seen horses run out and lose the race that way. I've seen a horse win after unseating the jockey and the jockey held onto the reins and ran along with the horse! I've seen a horse win by five lengths and be disqualified because some lead weights fell out of the saddle bags and the jockey couldn't make correct weight (yeah, I backed that one!). It just goes to show that you never know what is going to happen! I wonder how many punters threw away their tickets on Starving Marvin with a furlong to go?
The horse is a rogue of rogues.Henderson got rid of him to Sue Smith where he won one awful poor race and finished last more often than not.On three occasions he tried to run out where stable jockey refused to ride him in his last three races.Tailed off last in class 5 races tells you everything about the horse.People here critical of one of the greatest jockeys ever to sit on a horse shows the serious lack of intelligence regarding racing and its frailties.
The jock sounded kind and generous to me. He understood that the horse is a "big baby," who found himself all alone and "had a look around" for home. Maybe steeplechasing is not this horse's number one job choice. 🙂
and the horse never won a race until 4 years later for a different trainer and has only run 2 times after that finishing last both times so it was a sign of things to come !
Any normal person other than a professional jockey would be on the floor if a horse did that especially riding as short as they do , balance second to none
I once saw a race with the jockey holding the horse with a tight rein while leading throughout the race and at no time release the hold on the horse though the horse jumped the last fence in front the horse ran second with a tight hold still
A jockey can ride and steer a horse , unless the horse has other ideas. This could've ended up quite nasty for both the jock and the horse. Thankfully both are okay.

i think a jockey said, the horse that will consistently win is a strong, fast and a little bit dumb horse, because if horse too smart they might mistake when the race end, especially when the racecourse has changed or the distance has changed, or even they remember where they used to head home, and head home early.
I was at Sandown that day and on the winner,!
The uncertainty of racing which makes it a great sport !
It must have been matched at odds of 1.01 in running!
it was... but horses are often matched at 1.01 and lose, because that is only 1/100, what is rarer is the one who won was matched for thousands at 1000.
Horse was clearly spooked. Who knows apart from the horse. They sense things us humans will never understand.
Amazing. I didn't even bet on it...
Were these young horses
The horse got distracted by that guy standing next to that hurdle
Demasiada exigencia para esos pobres caballos.
Ooh it’s the knackers yard for you buddy
Unpredictability!!
Who put Orjan Kihlstrom on him? (Swedish harness racing driver, who is acting like Dettori)
Love to know what some folks got in running on the winner 🤤
Would have had to be automated. Who in their right mind would jump in play, parameters for sure but I'm curious too haha. There was one at Newcastle that was 1000-1 in running with 4f out I think and anyone with an eye saw how quick they went up front. Mind you the horse trading 1001-1 wasn't doing much but picked up at 2.5f and stormed over the top of them. Came from the sky.
@@michaelhutchings8599 1000-1?! I don’t bet so I have to ask, what on earth did that pay out?
@@mikaelafox6106 the problem is not many people would have backed it at that price, if any. It would have been small stakes and to follow that board using software would give you a stroke hahaha.
I thought he'd spooked at the 2 people at the side. They moved back quickly too as if they thought they might have caused it
I noticed that too - I think you're right
Starving Marvin and What's the Scoop? Where's the beef? Made me hungry!
When the jokey was trying to get his foot back in the stirrup, the horse was bothered
please show us the finishing prices!!! thanks
The last horse I backed in Trentham. It threw the rider and jumped the periphery fence took off into the wild never to be seen again.
11th March 2016
I know, I was there.
@@Zarkava8 starvin tranzlift416 are you hungry?
I did. I had a bet 7-8 years ago on a horse. the same he did make a u turn just 6 metres on the line and stopped there he was a kilometre in front.
Cutest thing ever 😂
Which day and times was this meeting?
What a pathetic excuse. Poor judgement by the jockey, looking through his legs meant it allowed the horse to take control.
So when they win week in week out on the bridle is the jockey in the wrong ?

Let's look at each situation and deal with them individually. One good decision on one day has no bearing on a bad decision on another day.
Poor horses were exhausted
Any normal person other than a professional jockey would be on the floor if a horse did that especially riding as short as they do , balance second to none
I once saw a race with the jockey holding the horse with a tight rein while leading throughout the race and at no time release the hold on the horse though the horse jumped the last fence in front the horse ran second with a tight hold still
Ong what race unbelievable! .
The jockey startled him, he ducked his head behind the horse, then lifted it quick. Showboating.
You nailed it. Geraghty fecked up clowning around.
The uneducated posters.
Showboating lol yeah jockeys love losing races and nearly ending up In the crowd YOU ABSOLUTE TOOL
Straight for home, turn left for the knackery on the way.
The Godfather made him an offer he couldn't refuse🤣
ua-cam.com/video/GxBT2z0bZPo/v-deo.html most wont remember this or even know of it
That was an emp weapon used to interfere!! Or possibly thrown? Either way it seems odd!!
This happened at uttoxeter race course a while back.
Oh my god ... what a horse 🙈 his jockey was lucky not to fell down ... and the other jockey too ... as a jockey you are not expeting this 😬
Crazy the horse bate alotta people's bets
Proper racing !
A jockey can ride and steer a horse , unless the horse has other ideas.
This could've ended up quite nasty for both the jock and the horse.
Thankfully both are okay.
Looks to me like he was spooked from something on the far side of the track.....could have been a laser pen.
Im surprised MiloThe Bookiebasher hasnt made video calling the rider a cheat
¡FANTASTICO!
¡MIL GRACIAS!
¡SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO 🇲🇽!
Hi ya noemi...👊
Horse scampering 🤣 Love the way he thinks sod this im carrying on 😀
That’s a horse for ya. Never know what they’re going to do when they’re forced to do something they don’t want to do.
Jockey looking behind with a loose rein had nothing to do with it I suppose????
99% of the Sunderland fans will blame Lee Johnson
Never in doubt
Very suspicious. I'd love to know if there was a lot of money on that horse.
Hows it suspicious? The horse got spooked by something. Theres nothing a jockey can do if a horse decides it wants to run in the opposite direction
@@robertharkess8875 how's it suspicious? You have a lot to learn.
@@JohnMarkss no you have a lot to learn, you automatically assume its some how corrupt or dodgy but in reality its very obvious that the horse was spooked by something. Its an animal
With a mind of its own, a 9 stone man on its back isnt going to stop if running any direction it chooses too if it decides thats what it wants to do
@@robertharkess8875 well, God has spoken. It must be true.
@@JohnMarkss well anybody with common sense can see what happened. Dont see anything that would make me assume it was corrupt, its an animal
We are talking about here it happens. Its not uncommon to see horses hanging all over the track or running wayward when losing concentration, but you must be new to racing it seems
😂😂😂😂 I'm really starting to love Racing 🐎
I know nothing of horse racing, it confuses the hell out of me but, to me, when the jockey put his head way down and then raised it back up, it was like the horse said, nope, not gonna do this and decided it was gonna do what it wanted and ventured off course. That jockey was pissed tho, whipping the horse like that I'm surprised the horse didn't buck his ass off.
