Sprinter Sacre finished his career as a legend but before his injury he was easily the best horse i had ever seen, having said that, in present day, Constitution hill looks to be one hell of a horse
I have been following horse racing since 1961 but in all that time I have seen nothing to compare with the simply astonishing performance of Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle in March. There have been some great hurdlers down the years, but I don't think any of them would have lived with Constitution Hill this season. I cannot wait to see him in action in the coming months.
@@mrganddrlove Yes, I most certainly do mrganddrlove. Arkle was the greatest chaser I have ever seen and his performance in the 1965 Gallaher Gold Cup at Sandown was truly mindblowing. Carrying 12 stone 7lbs he smashed the course record by 17 seconds and that still stands 58 years later. There will never be another chaser to compare with Arkle.
To be honest I was probably more impressed with Constitution Hills win the previous year in the Supreme Novice. That was breathtaking. I'd give his CH win a solid 8/10 but in fairness be was heavy, heavy odds on to do so
@@rob9999i I have seen many longer odds-on favourites bite the dust. Brigadier Gerard and Arkle to name but two. So a horse's odds do not necessarily reflect its chance in a race.
Thistlecrack and Two for Two both by the late great Kayf Tara (died Dec 2022). Sadly Our Connor died a Cheltenham in 2o14. Sprinter Sacre 14 wins, 2 seconds from 24 starts !
It's some reminder of what kind of horse Thistlecrack would have been if it wasn't for injuries - could easily have ended up as one of the great NH runners.
Personally thought he was a bit overrated tbh. Even in this one, granted he'd put in the work already but he was pulling up after the last. Another furlong and he'd have finished 5th! Watch them all blow past him after the line!
UDS in the Ryanair was even better when you consider Ruby tried to drop him in as he wasn't a given to be a stayer at the distance and the horse told him exactly what he thought of that plan
Janet and I thought these races were very good, pretty awesome!! One after the other, was nail-biting!! If you win with any of these races or not?? Great to watch, anyway 😁😁!!
Cuecard winning the king George is probably the best race I've ever seen in my time watching racing it's one of those events/moments that comes straight to the fore kinda like Maurice Fitzgeralds point from an almost impossible angle or Man United in 99. BTW I hadn't him backed I'm not from Kerry nor do I support Man United but certain moments in time not only become historic but on some level also personal.
Yes, he was one of the greatest chasers I've ever seen. He was so brilliant that he won the Two Mile Champion Chase, and the next day ran a close third in the Champion Hurdle. Sprinter Sacre was very special too.
Got into horse racing when shitty covid came around didn't know a great a deal before but now love the sport even went ascot for my honey moon last year champions day again this year great day out ❤❤❤❤❤
Flyingbolt was the greatest 2- mile chaser I have ever seen and he wasn't far behind Arkle over longer distances. Sea Bird II was the greatest flat horse for me.
Only.two here that left me very very impressed were Sprinter and Constitution Hill. Same as Frankel used to do on the flat, one minute everyone travelling well the next they step it up and within seconds the field is utterly devastated
Our Conor could have been a star but, purely on form, what did he beat in that race? Did any of those beaten horses go on to win anything of note? Genuine question, I loved the horse.
Well, I was speechless at how viciously the jockey in the first race whipped his horse when he realized he wasn't winning. But I was expecting some come-from-behind winners or Secretariat-like distances and didn't see anything but some frontrunners winning easily.
In 30+ years of loving horse racing, no horse has given me more of a wow factor visually than Sprinter Sacre.
Brilliant horse
I agree
Vatour around cheltenham was a spectacle and thistlecrack at cheltenham and aintree over hurdles was also a spectacle!!
I agree when he first came onto the scene it was like watching constitution hill now looked unbeatable
Moscow flyer beating azert and cheif in champion chase was class
The commentry for sprinter sacre made the hair stand up on my next, absolute brilliant, never heard anything like it ever
Our Connor what could he have become and Vatour what a horse he was. Two of the best
Vautours performance in the JLT the previous year was even better than the Ryanair. Immense horse
And the supreme novice hurdle performance the year before that
Master Minded first champion chase win was the greatest performance I've ever seen
That was really something. I'd love to have seen that master minded vs sprinter. Would have been some race
That was a great Performance, in fact it was AP McCoys favourite performance ever
Vautour a Monster
How well does Silviniaco Conti run on in Thistlecrack's King George! Absolutely eats up the ground from 3 out.
Sprinter Sacre finished his career as a legend but before his injury he was easily the best horse i had ever seen, having said that, in present day, Constitution hill looks to be one hell of a horse
Desert Orchid Racing post chase carrying 12st 3 - the rest out of the handicap...
Denman 2nd Hennessy - top class field ...
Some great performances here, I think Un De Sceaux was a better horse than he was given credit for
Un De Sceaux was unbelievably good. No doubts one of the best chasers in my lifetime.
Un De Sceaux was a great horse, his problem was he had to compete with one of the legends of the sport SS
Thistlecrack, what a horse, l have so many favourites though😂
Goosebumps watching thiselcrack running in this everytime I watch it❤❤😊

Since 61 then you must put Arkle's performance at Sandown top of the tree....or any other race of Arkle's or should I say Pegasus...

OUR CONOR.
Make A Stand winning the 1997 Champion Hurdle 😊
Loved that race...Had a good punt and when I heard a guy on the rails shout ' go on Tony ' my heart lifted 😂
Never been so frustrated by a horse being injured than thistlecrack
I remember Presavis giving me the wow impression but one of my favourite finishes was Unsunghero and CrystalCappella
It's some reminder of what kind of horse Thistlecrack would have been if it wasn't for injuries - could easily have ended up as one of the great NH runners.

CH is definitely number 1
Totally agree.

Denman winning the first gold cup is a special run
Shout out to Josses Hill who was in at least three of these races!
Flying Bolt ploughing through a waterlogged Cheltenham in the old Massey Ferguson carrying 12-6....Destroyed the field ...

You forgot Lord Windermere’s last to 1st in the gold cup 👀👀👀

Absolutely criminal not to feature Sprinter Sacre winning the Champion chase after his comeback
In 60+ years of horse racing Flyingbolt has been the best NH horse i have seen and Mill Reef best flat horse.
Flyingbolt was the greatest 2- mile chaser I have ever seen and he wasn't far behind Arkle over longer distances. Sea Bird II was the greatest flat horse for me.
His win in the Massey Ferguson at Cheltenham carrying 12-6 in what was in effect a waterlogged course - was some sight ... Destroyed the field..
Should add Gloria victis in racing post chase
We've got him lined up for something else. Some performance
Some jockey ruby Walsh!
Surely Allaho's 1st Ryanair and Energumene's 2nd champion chase should be up there
Come on" gallopin de champ". Go on put him up against constitution Hill.😂

Parkour
An incredible shot

we need Tiger Rolls 2nd national in this
Killiney, Golden Cygnet and Vautour.
Massive potential lost.
Jumping is the name of the game. You have to clear those obstacles.
Best Mate first gold cup ,cleared my mortgage.Danny Harold paid for my Jag
