What a difference a good teacher and a week’s worth of practice makes. I’ve gone from stick figure hands to, “Oh! Look at me!! I’m drawing hands!!!” In. One. Week. After 60 years of telling myself, I can’t draw. Thank you, Brandon.

I like this approach, it's more playful than I've had before. There's an art class local to me but the teacher really emphasises the realism, and I just wanna sketch roughly, I'm put off by endless shading and refining, I just wanna draw stuff well enough for people to recognise what I'm drawing. This feels a lot more open ended and less pressure to do it perfectly.

This will be a great series! Since I'm only a month and days into acrylic painting I realized I'm only painting from my minds eye. Drawing an object I'm looking at is all new to me. I wonder what percentage of artists paint from the mind vs. the eyes..? Proportions are next, great! Need those :-) Thanks Brandon.

Not sure whether he already did faces (Just started to watch) But IMO try to simplify things (as he said in this video) at first. Instead of a detailled nose, you might just want to draw the most distinguishing marks. Don't draw your own face, it's pretty hard, instead grab some random pictures from the almighty internet, maybe even facebook, look at their most distinguishing marks, and draw those.
Marks you could pay attention to:
      headshape, especially chin
      Shape of the eyes,
      noseline,
      general direction of hair,
eyebrow line, by extention hair direction
      mouthline,
      upperlips,
      lower lips,
ears if you can see some,
      accessories and more
Face proportions might also help you. The eyes are actually in the middle of our headshape, nose ends at 1/4 of headshape, mouth at 1/8, and if the mouth is resting, then where the corner of the mouth is, is there, where you should draw the eyes.

You don't NEED to be amazing at art to be an animator. Just start animating where you are and both your animation and art will improve in time. Best of luck my friend :)
