I don't really enjoy travelling, I don't even know why I'm watching this! Actually I do: you're charismatic and your videos are informative and professional! IMO, if someone is not interested in the video, but is still watching, that means that you're videos are awesome! Keep sharing!
For people who travel internationally outside the US regularly and don't want to mess around with getting a SIM card, I highly recommend Google Fi, a service which allows your cell phone to work without incurring roaming charges.
@make it make sense Google Fi is a service provider and is agnostic about what phone is used on the service. I'm surprised how many US based world travelers aren't aware of this option. It is amazing to step off a plane and have your phone work automatically without incurring rediculous roaming fees for texts and internet usage.
I just got my Google fi... however I will have to send it back to be used in the us every 80 to 90 days or they will cut off ur international data. But I am country hopping for the next 12 to 24 months
Hey! I traveled from Merida to Holbox. It was 6 hours ride it cost me $750.00 pesos ($38.00 dollars) . When I needed to came back to México city, I needed to go to Cancun airport and I booked a shuttle which cost $350.00 pesos ($18.00 dollars) which I think it's super cheap, the only disadvantage I see is that there's only a few times available, and at least you need to book one day in advance
This video was so helpful, thank you for all the tips! I booked a last minute solo trip to Holbox without doing much research and was panicking a bit trying to figure out transportation. Thanks to your video and links, I'm all set to get to and from Cancun (for
This makes me SO SO EXCITED kelsey!!! ahhhh! have so so much fun and if you post any photos/videos anywhere please tag me so i can see your adventures!!!
We are so used to one price no matter what here in the US because of interstate commerce rules. I can’t ever think of a tourist price vs local price I’ve ever seen in the US.
Ooo I thought of one! When I lived in NYC I had the "NYC ID" which gave NY residents a special price vs. tourists. OOOOH and hawaii had one. And OOOOH sometimes florida residents get sweeet deals at hotels when showing ID. I guess that's sorta kinda like that. I just wish my discounts were as low as what I saw in Holbox! WOOOOO that'd be amaaaaze!
Oooh I think I have a weather link in the description of this video! I’m hoping someone else in the comments might know the answer to this and can help out!
@@ChristineLozada Thank you for replying! Appreciate it! Just booked last week of January '23.. less than a month from today :) hope we gonna have some nice sunshine days haha.
thanks for the info going to the new st somewhere resort margaritaville for christmas 2022 - i was disapointed to find out this is not all inclusive so i have no idea what to expect food and drink wise. the resort for 8 days cost $4400 + airfare + food & drink + transportation = very expensive trip to a place i havent seen.
Girrrl, new subscriber here! Just finished watching your 4 Holebox videos, thank you so much for all of your tips/opinions. Question- in one of your videos, you pointed out you wish you had stayed here(pointing at the map), do you recall the name of a restaurant or hotel? I want to try to aim for that area, excited for my trip mid May. Going to check out your playa del Carmen videos now 🥰 continued safe & fun travels to you!
Hi love your Videos have been following your channel from long now and have planned my trip mostly via these vedios.. thanks they are very informative. Im travelling to cancun from india next week. Im there for 20days. 10 nights I’m in tulum for sure cancun maybe 4 nights. What other places do you suggest are worth spending time!! Playa del carmen? Holbox? Cozumel? Isla mujeres?
Oooh I hope others have comments and can join in! EVERYTHING I suggest is in this playlist (there are over 30 videos. I love love love this entire area!) safe travels to you!
Thank you! Very helpful:) When were you in this area? My husband and I go there in August and we hope for a nice weather. I know there is a rainy season that time 🥺
$150 dollars from Cancun to Chiquila is not bad. It is a 2.5 hour drive. That's actually fair for the service. I do agree they act sketchy. I feel the drivers might not own the actual vehicle and might want to pocket money. On top of that they might expect a tip. And also the way the taxis work, the driver can't take a passenger back from chuiquila to Cancun. Because that ride should go to a taxi driver from Chiquila, So they would return empty. Ive gone twice. I speak perfect Spanish, I was born in Texas and I do see why some of you get scared or get that sketchy feeling. Nothing wrong with asking for a lower price, we do it too. We don't always go with the first taxi driver we see. We say someone else gave us a better deal, and we still said no. Maybe they'll match that amount or lower it. People should think of Cancun as another US city. Prices will most likely reflect those of any city in the US.
I enjoyed the bus ride from Cancun to Chiquila and back...was not a problem for me..the buses are very comfortable as you know with banos for # 1 only...Holbox like Isla Mujeres floods when it rains and that's one of the bad things...The mosquitoes at night on Holbox will eat you alive...especially if you stay at a resort on the beach...i usually stay in town at a small hotel opposite the park..with a wine shop below..leaving for Isla this coming Monday..
The best map is maps.me an easy gps map that you can use without internet, i use it all the time when i rented a car..drive from cancun to chiquila and valladolid - tulum..so easy !
Yes you can! I have other videos on my channel about how to rent them (this was my experience late May 2021... unless something has changed since then)!
I'm confused.. did you go to the island at all?🤔 you didn't show the island or senotes!? Also why not just take a private tour van? Is less than $150 dls for transportation , boat ride to 3 different islands and senotes?🤔 and they will pick you up from your hotel ( lunch and drinks included) 🤔🙄🤷♂️

Do you recommend getting the ferry tickets ahead of time or wait until you get to the location? Thanks for the video
at the location! not ahead of time!
Headed there next week!

Awesome video, very informative. Thumbs up.
stoked to hear it!
Great video. Enjoyed seeing all of the great scenery. This looks like a great place to visit. Is there a time that is not too hot?
That's a good question. I'm sure there are cooler times of the year (i.e. dec) but... it's generally hot year round in this area!
I’m going tomorrow

how long is the ADO from central Cancun ? thanks
about 2-4 hours depending on traffic!
Are your prices for shuttles multiplied per person?

what if you arrive after the last ferry? is there a water taxi?
good question! I’m hoping someone else in the comments might know the answer to this and can help out!
