I am listening to Verma ji from day one of lock down. The happy side of lock down for me😀. I enjoyed this talk very much. I started learning veena from the age of 59 only. Now I am 63 years old. Now my veena teacher is teaching me online From listening to this talk I pray in my next life time I should be in a position to learn Carnatic music and veena right from the age of 10 or below 🙏
One of the finest and most fascinating talks I have heard on any subject given by a very intelligent, knowledgeable and self effacing man. Thank you Sir.
These days I watch your teachings on you tube.I saw your kactheriswhen you were young at Soorya festivals as ashy boy with your parents in the front row.I am 75 and your Ekalavya sishya.one day I saw you singing Ramudubhavinchinaadu by Rangadasa my mother used sing when I was small.when clicked on that I saw more of them. My mother used to sing all of them.even Yedla Ramadaasa.un fortunately I don’t have a good voice but try .I felt very happy when I heard all these. These songs though melodious are not popular. Thank you for the service you are doing for lesser known composers.
An ocean of precious information for the students and music lovers on this special day. It is always a special feeling to listen to this talk as it brings to mind many of those special experiences of Varma Sir with his Gurus. Can feel the love he has for each of them. When Sir sang that special tune in Pilu of K.S.Narayanaswamy Sir, I was thrilled to find out that the same tune was used in a recent Malayalam movie, 'Sufiyum Sujathayum'. Having a great Gurupurnima day with this special gift from a sincere, loving teacher. 🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹
Wonderful narration of the fast-vanishing Guru-Shishya relationship by Prince Rama Varma. Varma Ji's dedication, perseverance, passion, and love for music and his earnestness, humility and selflessness despite being a descendant of a royal family makes this even more precious for the students and rasikas (and even Gurus) of Carnatic and Indian music at large.

Sir, What a perfect interview and way of giving respects to your Gurus. I just happened to catch this while I was scrolling for something. Didn’t put my phone down since the beginning. It shows you spoke from heart. While speaking about your Gurus, I could see you becoming a star struck kid. You will be great ‘Varam/Gift’ for your students. Namaskarams…

It was a blessing to hear from Sir and the honesty and sanctity of the guru-Sishya relationship is intricately reflected all through his words and thoughts. Transported into some moments of pure bliss. Thankyou for sharing this. Is there any way to learn Sangeetam from Sir Himself online. I've been following Sir since some months now, I'm 27 and started learning the basics of Carnatic music. Thankyou.
Your timing couldn't have been better! Varma ji is scheduled to take a series of 12 classes of 2 hours each, over six weekends, starting on February 5, 6 and going on until March 12, 13. I will upload a video soon, giving the information about how to register.
Dear sir, Bala Murali Krishna sir once said in an interview ( blessings from Balamurali) " Ramavarma daggira nerchukunte nadaggiranerchu kunnatte, ( if Ramavarma teaches, it is learning from Balamurali sir')
