Hi! Yes, we did a self drive. We rented a car from Bangkok Airport and proceeded to Khao Yai. In fact, we did a stop at Ayutthaya to do some sightseeing there as well. The drive is a very comfortable one. By renting a car from the airport, you can bypass the notorious Bangkok traffic.

So one thing to note is to book your car way in advance, either through Trip.com or some other apps. The journey from Bangkok to Khao Yai is an easy and straightforward route. If you are collecting the car from the airport, you can bypass the infamous Bangkok jam.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video. We rented a car from Bangkok. It’s a nice and easy ride there. It is also very convenient and easy to drive around in Khao Yai. The rental per day is reasonable, less than SGD 100 per day depending on the make of car and whether it is weekend or weekday.

The bat cave is outside the park so you can avoid paying the park fees. The glamping site is also outside the park.

Is grab available there? Or how can we commute without renting a car?
I read that there’s no grab nor taxi in Khao Yai, just public buses. So perhaps renting a car and driver will be a good option.
