We stayed at Atta hotel. Atta Lakeside Resort Suite maps.app.goo.gl/GXFSGnnzAtBtECJx6 The secret garden is inside the hotel complex. Call them in advance to check if the garden opens when you visit (it can be seasonal, or they might do maintenance once in a while and close the garden temporarily)
Yes you should rent a car to go there from Bangkok. Inside Khao Yai , you'll need the car to reach places of interest as well. My husband and I drove there from Bangkok. Very quick (2.5 hours approx)!
I would recommend hire a private car. Because not only that you need to have them bring you from Bangkok to Khao Yai, but also travelling inside Khao Yai need to be done by car 🚗
