Awesome video! I'm planning on documenting my trap line this year as well. I heard you say you're not a very experienced canine trapper yet, but I think you had a pretty good idea of what you were doing. But just for future reference, the second coyote in this video I don't think had mange. Mange always starts around the butthole and tail, always. That bald spot on its back was most likely just a rub from going in and out of a den it's really common. Makes a coyote pelt worthless but it's common.
Hey man thanks. Mange does not have a place where it starts, that coyote 110% had the start of it, you didn't see the rest of the spots because it was muddy. Coyotes don't den until spring so rubbing was impossible in October. Good luck this year, Canines will humble the best of trappers.
lots of nice catch's fellas... to bad the prices sucked again...I havent trapped hard the last 2 years due to that but I still get out and catch a few dogs and other things just to get it out of my system...
Kyle - take some information from my video as well as the other vast youtube resources you have. The main thing is to have confidence and talk to landowners about letting you trap their properties, always secure permission. Start with something like raccoon and muskrat and you will get some catches, everyone catches possums.
+KILLKING110 they did fix it with about 3 ton of dirt and a back hoe and I am guaranteed a place to trap every year. Someone else had trapped it before but with the low prices did not trap so the landowner asked me. Trapping for me is not about the money either.
By setting your traps in areas where domestics don't travel. Most people seek me out to trap their properties, so they are well aware of the locations of my traps.
At Leatherwood Outdoors What kind of cameras do you use. I trap all but my main target is Mink. You should check out Minktrapping.com. We would like to have you aboard.
Hey man I thought the same thing! but with a lot of work and studying I got my Californian trappers license, (thats coming from a 13 year old) so it is possible. The most free way of trapping that I've found legal is trapping beavers and muskrats with colony traps, so aquatic trapping is a good option for California. maybe you should give it a shot
I know that sometimes it's better to kill an animal before it dies a more painful death and I'm not saying anything bad about you or anything, but I can't help but still feel bad when I see a fox all wet caught in a trap :(
I hunt but I could never trap. Theres no reason for me too anyways. I don't collect furs, I'm not eating raccoon meat or coyote meat just something I wouldn't eat. It's just sad trapping coyotes tbh. It reminds me of my dog that passed away. The way she was laying down with her head down like that. Also my other dog looks like that coyote, as you can tell I love my dogs haha.
If you like killing deer with a clean conscience it would behoove you to add trapping into your management agenda in order to keep them in area you like to hunt.
Lots of stuff but it's what people did in the 16th and 17th century and they got paid thousands in today's money for doing it. I really don't see how trapping is any different from hunting.
I don't trap but I appreciate what trappers do for the ecology and sustainability of game. Keep up the great video work and trapping!
Thank you for you're support
Thank you for that!
Adam Norris Hi where du get those traps
Fantastic job! I learn a lot from your videos. Thanks!
Great video, congrats on a successful season.
Nice man, lots a great catches! I really enjoyed it, I'm sure I'll watch this several times. Thanks for sharing.
nice video. I am planning to start trapping this year for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

lots of nice catch's fellas... to bad the prices sucked again...I havent trapped hard the last 2 years due to that but I still get out and catch a few dogs and other things just to get it out of my system...
Hey Adam I've been trapping for three years now and the only thing I've caught is a possum can u give me some advice on getting my catches up

Thank you for the advice and. It to bother but you but what type of bait and lure do you like to use when land trapping
Not
Also might focus on predators a little and weasels good luck to y'all next year and for rest of turkey season
What type of camera do you use to make the hunting videos
Great video
do you make the cables that u attach ur dps to trees with or buy them i need to get some so im not burning up so many earth anchors
I purchase a roll of aircraft cable and alum. ferrules and make my own over the summer.
Hey how do you finish the coyotes off after you have them in the trap? Do you just shoot them? can you post a video showing how you do it?
+wilson sheaffer I shoot them with a 22LR behind the shoulder much as you would a deer. Maybe next year if I get a cameraman I will.
What bait did you use in your DP's?
I think this year I'm going to focus on my water line have some pond marshes and Amal creeks right behind my house
I trapped a pond like that this season past it was destroyed by rats. They can cause a lot of damage. The landowner had one bank that collapsed.
+Huntnfishnuts hopefully the bank can fixed
+KILLKING110 they did fix it with about 3 ton of dirt and a back hoe and I am guaranteed a place to trap every year. Someone else had trapped it before but with the low prices did not trap so the landowner asked me. Trapping for me is not about the money either.
hey are you guys going to post turkey hunting videos this year
+Adambacho It's only the end of the first week bud.
+Adam Norris I know I meant when the season is finished
how would you trap coyotes or foxes without catching someone's dog or cat

I have an account there and Don Powell is a great trapper. I used a Canon EOS-60D DSLR camera to film this, the other guys have Sony handycams.
Have you ever tried beaver trapping
I have and you'd be surprised their very smart they avoided all my traps until I bought a conobear and put it over their hole.
Make a video on how you tan your furs
Thumbs up, well done.
too bad i live in California
dog guy move then

We're do y'all shoot ur predators I use a 17 hmr
What do you use to kill them?
Heritage Rough Rider Revolver 22 CAL
Why do you have to cover your bait ?
Those are our laws in PA, the main reason is to not attract and possibly catch Federally protected aerial predators.
Ware do you trap out of
Westmoreland County PA
How do you kill them
tanks video
Where do you guys sell your fur
+PAthfoutdoors FHA in North Bay Ontario
I find the other Videos are better sry
I know that sometimes it's better to kill an animal before it dies a more painful death and I'm not saying anything bad about you or anything, but I can't help but still feel bad when I see a fox all wet caught in a trap :(
then dont watch trapping videos
I have no problem with u guys trapping but make Shure u have the right gun to shoot them nice vid👍

I love my dog as well. You cannot compare a domestic to a wild animal.
Coyotes are not like your dog. hahahah
don't compare a wild animal to your dog
you kill wolves and fox waths your problem
Kind of a shitty, cruel hobby. I hunt, and have no problem killing animals, but that's really not something I could do with a clean conscience.
If you like killing deer with a clean conscience it would behoove you to add trapping into your management agenda in order to keep them in area you like to hunt.
You sure you hunt?
